Is Anything Going To Happen To Me Because I Got Rear Ended With No Insurance

What happens if a driver without insurance rear-ends you?

You report it to your insurance company, pay them your collision deductible (if any) they pay to have your car fixed, go after the other party and when/if they collect, your deductible will be returned to you.

Rear ended a car at a gas station. Not sighted. No insurance. Other party has not filed with insurance.?

2 months ago I was pulling away from a gas pump at the gas station. I did not see a car that was sitting in the sloped driveway waiting to pull out and I rear ended it. The damage to her car was a medium size dent to the back bumper. We did not exchange information. She didn't want to talk to me at all. The police came and took each person's information and told us to have our insurance companies contact him for the accident report. I was not sighted. No one was injured. At the time of the accident I thought I had insurance. later i found out after trying to file the claim that i was dropped because they took a payment out of my bank account to early. A few days ago I got a call from the girls uncle. He told me they contacted my insurance found out I didn't have any insurance and was responsible for damages. He stated the damages were only 26 dollars but she would need a rental car costing 1000 dollars and she went to the hospital a few days later and had a x ray which would bring the total to about 3000 dollars. He wanted me to write her a check that day. I told him I don't have that kind of money. The he told me to take a few days to try to get a loan and call him back. I was kind of suspicious about that. Then today he calls me back and asks me if I was able to get the money around. I said NO. He then asked how i was planning on paying for it. I told him i was waiting on hearing from the insurance company. He then tells me they have not filed with her insurance company YET and that when they do a state cop will come to my house and pull my plates on my Vehicle and take my drivers license. What should I do? Can the cops do that in the state of Ohio? All research I have done on this says that most private property accidents are civil matters. Can they charge me for medical bills when she didn't complain of injuries at the scene? It just doesn't seem right that a 26 dollar fix is going to cost me 3000 dollars.. PLEASE HELP

Someone rear ended me but I do not have insurance.?

I’m in Pittsburgh PA {if that matters};
The light was red so I stopped but the girl driving the car behind me was not paying attention {I presume} and rear ended me hard. No one was hurt {although my mom said she had a massive headache in the back of her head and neck}. We did not get the police involved because I didn’t have insurance and was afraid they’d tow my car.

She gave me her insurance information and told me to contact her that she would pay for everything… {yeah, we’ll see}. I never been in an accident before and really didn’t know WHAT to do and what all information was needed besides HER insurance information since she hit me.

I called her insurance company and gave them everything. The guy asked for my insurance information and I started to lie and say “oh, yeah I don’t have it in front of me right now” but decided to tell the truth and say I don’t have any.

I’m not sure what else to do {don’t worry, getting insurance and staying with it going forward is already on my LIST}. I’m worried the insurance company will not honor anything and I won’t get compensated for the damages she caused. She messed up the back of my car. The bumper came off and the trunk is pushed in. The trunk door still closes though. The damages are probably MORE than what the car is worth. I drive a 2007 Ford Focus {which I call Michael – that car is MY BABY!} and it has 127,000 miles on it. The other person {who hit me} has a 2014 and said she only had the car 2 weeks.

What are the steps now? Are they going to compensate me although I do not have insurance? Should I get a lawyer? Is there anything I should be worried about {besides needing insurance}?

Please Help! =(
