Is Benching 245 Lbs At 18 Good

I bench 200 pounds max as a freshman is that good?

It all depends on how much you weight. That sounds pretty good to me.

If a guy can bench press 135 lbs 10 times, what would be his max?

Probably around 200 maybe 210.For reference I can bench 245 around 10x and my max is around 315

I am 5'5 and weigh 125. I bench and squat about 135. Is that good?

That's well above average.  don't stop there! try this workout to increase your strength and 1 rep max.  Figure out your current 1 rep max then calculate the percentages for each set. There are 1 rep calculators online.  Stick to the same one before and after. Do these workouts twice a week, say, Monday and Thursday.  Week 1 5 x 65% of max, 5 x 75%, 5 x 85%Week 23 x 70%, 3 x 80%, 3 x 90%Week 35 x 75%, 3 x 85%, max reps x 95%Recalculate your max and start again.  It is important to do other compound leg exercises in conjunction with this plan.  Best of luck!!Maliardav@gmail.com for further questions, I would love to help.

What is a good bench/deadlift/squat for a 14-year-old?

The key to the big lifts when you are younger isn't about weight, it's about form and time under tension. If you can comfortably squat 95–135, deadlift 135, and bench 95, at the age of 14 that's great, as long as your form is also great and you can do those weights for 8–12 reps without form breakdown. This sets you up for growth which at the age of 14 the only real reason to be lifting in the first place. If you're asking for sports then it's dependant on what the coaches say, but usually they don't care too much as long as you're good at the sport in question.

Why isn't my bench press increasing?

your probably not training the supporting muscle properly like your triceps might be too weak or your shoulder strength could be lagging and your lats are probably lagging it as well...for a while when i hit a plateau when i first started when i was maxing out at 135 which was after training for 3 weeks i was stuck for 2 whole weeks no improvement my new comer gains stopped so i stopped flat bench for 5 weeks and just worked on legs with squats if you don't train legs you'll plateau ...shoulders with db presses and triceps close grip bench the grip should be shoulder width and back bent over rows my max shot up to 185 without training flat bench at all just clapping pushups for maintenance work 50 pounds up in just 5 weeks just to show you how much you max can go up by working your weak points but don't expect this work forever after a while your going to have to find new ways to increase your strength remember what helps you get to 100-200 is way different from getting 200-300 and so on a so forth my bench max is now at 305 squat is at 445 and deadlift at 500 bodyweight 180 been training for almost 2 years i haven't been that focused on bench press lately more lower body work as for your question of under training your probably not most people under train for fear of over training as long as your not hitting the same body part more than 2 times a week your good and take a 1-2 week break every 3 months of training its always good to let your body recover make sure to eat alot over training is usually under eating

I’m 16 years old, 5’11, and weigh 202 lbs. I can bench 245x1, squat 275x1, and deadlift 405x1. Are my lifts okay enough to compete in the Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association?

They’re very good and enough to compete in any association.According to their website, the qualifying total for your age and weight group in Regionals is 390kg. Your total is 110 + 125 + 182.5 = 437.5 so you should be fine. The qualifying total for Nationals is 437.5kg exactly, so as long as you perform the lifts to standard required by the judges, you should be good to go.Go ahead, sign up for a meet.Qualifying Standards

Men: How much do you bench press?

Ok, I go to the gym often and I see the "regulars" who live in there but wanted to know what most guys can do. I am 24 yrs. old, weigh 220 lbs. and my chest is my weak spot. If I am doing free weight bench presses, I can do like 6-8 at 60 lbs. dumbbells. If I am lifting a regular bench press, with the average sized olympic bar, I can throw on usually a 45 on each side and 5-10 more on each side on a good day. So, that is like 145-155 lbs. for 5-8 reps. Is that good, bad or indifferent? The irony is that I can leg press almost 1,000 pounds. I don't get how I can have such a weak spot, but be that as it may, I was curious what "Average Joes" lift at the gym... thanks ahead of time!!!

From your experience, how long do you think it would take me to reach a 315 lbs 1RM bench press? I can currently bench press 265 lbs 1RM and currently weigh around 190 lbs.

I wont sugar coat it , it will be a struggle, as that’s the weight range that a lot of people get stuck at.I the normal gyms I used for years (no steroids etc) there were were relatively few guys who could bench 300lbs+ compared to 240–280lbs.It seemed to be a common sticking point, probably the reason you get the 300–400–500 standard for Bench, squat and deads. As I see it there are 3 ways to do it.The best way is get everything spot on , your routine needs to work really well but just as Importantly get your sleep and food intake spot on. I just did that for 6 weeks and made more progress than the previous 12 months (8 to 10 hours sleep, lots of protein and a slight calorie excess).Drugs - your choice but not for me, I can understand Actors and bodybuilders/lifters taking Steroids as the reward is massive compared to the risk, but to take them just to look good is beyond my understanding.Get Fat - Not kidding lol, weight even bodyfat will let you lift more and that,s the way I did it, I went from about 220lbs to 280lbs , sure there was a fair bit of muscle but also a lot of fat but it got me over the 300lb mark and that was all I wanted at the time.Time wise 2 and 3 are the quickest ,say about a year or less and number 3 the slowest, maybe 2/3 years.Jase
