Let be be very clear and upfront on this there is no Religion which promotes violence. It is merely a wrong interpretation that any of the Quranic verses promote violence.There are times when fighting and violence are indispensable even to seek or maintain peace. People – individuals, groups, and nations – may need to fight for self-defense and if that is what you call as violent please read through the below text from 3 vital religious books and in that case you should find all of these as violent.(though it is is not the reality)Quran:The Quranic verses on this are very clear. God repeats, "do not aggress", multiple times. Only if attacked, is one permitted to fight back. If the other party refrains from aggression and offers one peace, we are told to stop fighting.Rules of War*[2:190] You may fight in the cause of GOD against those who attack you, but do not aggress. GOD does not love the aggressors. [2:191] You may kill those who wage war against you, and you may evict them whence they evicted you. Oppression is worse than murder. Do not fight them at the Sacred Masjid, unless they attack you therein. If they attack you, you may kill them. This is the just retribution for those disbelievers.[2:192] If they refrain, then GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.[2:193] You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship GOD freely. If they refrain, you shall not aggress; aggression is permitted only against the aggressors.*2:190 All fighting is regulated by the basic rule in 60:8-9. Throughout most of recorded human history, lots of people have claimed to have experienced “god” or to have had “godly experiences.” The problem is that they have then attributed these experiences to a wide variety of different gods, many of which claim to be the “only” god. And these experiences have led people to create lots and lots of different religions with numerous different holy books, each claiming to represent what “god” really is like, what he really has said and done, and what he really wants us to do. And all these people are equally sincere in their beliefs that they really did experience “god” or have a “godly experience.”All of which leads to three possibilities:There actually is a God who is responsible for all these completely contradicting claims, but he is either spectacularly bad at making himself clear or else just doesn’t care whether people understand what he is saying.There are actually many, many, different gods that different people have experienced over the years, and any such god claiming to be the “one true god” was lying.There’s something about being human that causes us to experience certain feelings that some people wrongly attribute to coming from a divine source.Personally, my money is on number 3.
