Is Bob Cream Suppose To Be Darker Or Lighter Than Your Skin Tone

Should the concealer be lighter than skin tone or the same shade?

It should match your skintone. There’s the old guide to use a shade lighter under the eyes and on blemishes. It’s outdated, using a lighter one under the eyes can cause ashiness/look grayish and it’ll also look noticeably lighter, a very tell-tale sign of concealer being that most people don’t have lighter under eyes. Here you can see what I mean.It can turn grayish/ashyOr look too noticeably lightCompared to something like so, looks a lot more natural and much less likely to go ashy.Under eye area is naturally, generally a little darker or, if someone has good skin, it looks the same color as the rest of their face. It’s rare for the under eye area to be naturally lighter which is why it can look noticeable. I’ve only seen light under eyes on people who got a tan and were wearing sunglasses or goggles so it didn’t tan. Lighter colored concealer on blemishes can actually highlight/make them more noticeable rather than conceal them.Opt for a color that’s as close to your skintone and texture as possible. This way, you won’t have to worry about obvious lightness or ashiness and look like you have a naturally even complexion.

How to Lighten and Darken BB Cream at Home?

If it happens to be too dark just add a good amount of your moisturiser to it or concealer. If its too light you could always add bronzer to your face to make it a bit darker or sometimes when I use a lighter face makeup it usually blends to my skin tone a few minutes after I apply it.

If your face has an uneven tone you don't have to apply bb cream to cover blemishes and then make it uneven toned again. Just buy the shade that matches best with either the tone of your forehead or the rest of your face, its best to pick the tone that goes well with your neck as well.

Sometimes there are testers at drugstores that you can try, there isn't a great variety of shades in drug store makeup when it comes to bb cream. Most of the time the shades come in either light, medium or dark.

Drug store makeup can be as good as makeup from Sephora or Mac at times. Especially drugstore mascara, I'd say its even better than department store makeup. You can always go to Sephora and get a sample of their foundation/bb cream, you don't need to buy it, then you can compare it with the drugstore bb cream. Good luck!

Why does my bb cream oxidize darker than my skin tone?

It's actually quite annoying, I like the pale complexion, and when I put on the bb cream it matches my skin tone, perhaps its a tiny bit lighter. Which I like, but when it oxidizes, it turns 2 shades darker than my original skin tone! Why is it doing this? I hate it, It looks ugly. I don't want to loo kdarker than I actually am? Is there a way to stop it from getting so dark? Stop the oxidation? I use korean bb creams, not the American ones. Please help :(

I have dark brown Indian skin. How do I use makeup to look fairer?

Dusky is sexy, so don’t use makeup to look 'fairer', instead, use makeup to enhance your features and bring out that oh-so-sexy skin colour. I'm dusky myself and while growing up, I always had this ‘why-am-I-not-fair’ grudge, and I absolutely started adoring my skin colour once I started college and saw how my 'fairer' friends weren't able to carry off certain tones and shades in makeup as well as in clothes! So don't worry about the dark skin part at all!BB creams are generally lighter than a foundation and impart a lighter coverage, foundations range from lighter to full coverage so you could choose accordingly. Picking the right foundation is the key to creating a good makeup base. If the foundation is not correct, your face might look ashen with makeup darkening over time. So, I'd suggest you start by prepping your skin. Apply a good yet light moisturiser and let it seep in. Don't go for too heavy ones as they'll only make your skin oily and your makeup will stay less on skin. Apply a primer, foundation and concealer. Make sure you pick a shade of foundation that matches closest to your skin tone. More importantly, the undertone has to be correct. Yellow undertones flatter Indian skin tone the best, pink undertones are meant for fairer skin. Similarly, pick a concealer which is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone. You could use a corrector as well if you need to hide blemishes or pimple marks etc. Apply the concealer in an inverted triangle shape under your eyes and blend well. If you need to use more concealer, make sure you use it sparingly. Once the base is done, set it with a powder using a powder brush. Also, don’t forget the neck whike doing makeup!!While applying makeup, less is more is the mantra. I personally love blending makeup using my fingers as it gives me a seamless and an even toned look, but you could go for a foundation brush or a beauty blender. You could use a bit of contouring as well, lots of videos on YouTube to help you get through.Hope this helps! :)

Can you use BB cream to contour?

Yes! You definitely can. You will need one one slightly darker, and one slightly lighter (I usually try to go one or two shades in either direction, but not much more then that).Apply your base as you usually do (this could be tinted moisturizer, BB cream, or a light foundation).Conceal any problem areas, like dark circles or blemishes.Find your cheekbone with your fingers, and apply three dots of the darker shade directly underneath. Do NOT make the fish face to find them; this will result in improper placement of the product (too low and too close to your mouth; this is a good rule of thumb no matter what contouring product you’re using). You can also dot it along your jawline and the top of your forehead for more sculpting. These places aren’t needed on everyone but if you feel like you want to define your jawline or make your forehead appear a little smaller, this is a great trick for that!Blend!! You can use your fingers or a brush; just blend, blend, blend!Dot the highlight color onto cheekbones, inner corners of eyes, bridge of nose, and cupid's bow.Blend!! Same as last time; just make sure you clean your fingers or brush off first so that you don’t muddy the colors.Check in some good light to make sure that everything is smoothly blended, and then set with a translucent powder.Finish with some blush to warm up the face; this step is the icing on the cake!

My face, neck, and chest is lighter than the rest of my body?

So, when I'm finished putting on my makeup my face looks a lot lighter than my legs, a little lighter than my arms, and even with my chest and neck. My skin is white. I use the light BB cream from Maybelline I think and then some concealer and powder. My face, neck, and chest are naturally lighter than the rest of me, but I feel like I notice it more when I wear makeup. I'm starting to wonder if people notice or if I'm doing something wrong. I think the next shade of BB cream would be too dark (I only saw a light, medium, and dark shade there).

Should I just keep doing what I normally do? What do you think I should do?

By the way my BB cream is 30 SPF and I really only notice the skin tone difference in natural light...

What should I do to my BB cream so it could match my skin? The BB cream is lighter than my skin.

When you select right color tone of B.B cream, you have to find the B.B cram which has similar color tone with your neck skin color. Then, you will not have significant color difference between your neck and your face. However, if your already selected B.B cream has much lighter color tone than your skin, please mix little darker color of foundation to make the color tone similar to your beck skin. You can mix with dark color’s B.B cream too.
