Is Boston College A Good School To Become A Surgeon

I have known a lot of lawyers who attended BC or BU law schools and Harvard law school. I tend to find the BC and BU law graduates to be the core of the law firms. Can’t say much about the Harvard Law graduates, other then they tend to rise into important positions……For several years I played ice hockey against the BU Law, BC Law, Harvard Law, Suffolk Law, and Harvard Medical students. The Harvard Law students tended to argue the calls more. The others just checked you into the boards the next time they passed by……

It’s a solid choice. The school is certainly well known and respected on Wall Street, and there is a strong alumni contingent across the industry.When I was at Goldman, the school tended to hover at the margins of the tier 1 target school list, so to speak, with some businesses targeting it more heavily than others.But the combination of the location (good), the alumni base and the reputation of the Carroll School should leave you well positioned, provided you maintain strong grades and make the other moves that are necessary to be a strong candidate for Wall Street roles.

How religious is Boston College?

Boston College is committed to maintaining and strengthening the Jesuit, Catholic mission of the University,

Jesuits are active in all aspects of University life with a community of more than 150 Jesuits serving as faculty and administrators or studying for advanced degrees within Boston College's various schools. Members of the Jesuit community also offer Ignatian retreats and spiritual direction to faculty, staff and students. Gifts from the Jesuit community have helped establish the Jesuit Institute and the Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Boston College. The Institute sponsors personal research, academic exchange and collective inquiry about the issues that emerge at the intersection of faith and culture. The Center helps members of the University community to understand and implement Jesuit/Ignatian traditions and promotes conversation among other religious traditions represented at Boston College.

★★★★★Boston College has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. I am currently a junior in the business school and have been here for 2 and 1/2 years now. The undergraduate business school is top notch, ranked #6 by Businessweek, and there are many opportunities made available to students. Being a student here has opened a lot of doors for me and pushed me to always strive for more. There are many clubs and on campus organizations where students are constantly active and involved. The people are very friendly and the location is very nice, being slightly outside of the city (10-15 minute car ride). It makes you feel like you are in a college town but you have the city at your disposal just a few miles away, an escape depending on what is your cup of tea. The nightlife is a lot of fun and so are the games. My biggest complaint would be a lack of diversity. It is slowly improving, but it does seem to be lacking a bit in my taste. The last thing is the weather, being originally a Miami boy, but that's one thing you cannot control. Overall I have very much enjoyed my time here and wish you the best of luck in your decision!

Having attended both schools, I would say that Tufts is the “better” choice given your academic interests (assuming they match the financial package). I majored in Clincal Psych at Tufts and got my MSW from BC, so my answer comes not from direct academic experience, but from the widespread notieriety Tufts has built in the areas of international relations and political science in particular.In addition, while I probably gained more (personally) from my experience at BC, it was a very homogeneous environment. For all my loves/hates re: Tufts, one thing I can always say is that there was nothing homogeneous about it!Honestly, like most people have said here, to spend time in an environment is invaluable to figuring out how it "feels” to you. I wish I had visited more campuses while I had the chance, instead of viewing them on quantitative metrics alone.Either way you are in a remarkable position and on your way to a bright future- and that will hold true regardless of what school you attend. Go spend a night at each university, and I believe you will gain the relevant insights re: which school would suit you best.And hey. CONGRATULATIONS! \U0001f60a

Is Rush University a good college?

It is a private college and NO, it is not a good school, and it is not as good as your state university, and it is much more expensive because being a private school, they don't receive subsidies from the government, and since it is such a small school, they dont receive many grants from past alumni, like all the state colleges do... You just can NOT go wrong sticking with the known state universities, or if cost is an issue, Which i am assuming it is not if you are considering RUSH, but if cost were an issue, look into doing your first two years at a local community college, then transfer to the big state university, you will receive the SAME degree as the guys that did the whole four years at the state university. I am a Big fan of the community college transfer savings route.. ;
