How many laptops can one bring from the USA to India?
One laptop computer (notebook computer) is free allowed duty free if imported by any passenger of the age of 18 years and above.As per rules prevailing,you are allowed to carry one laptop free of duty with you as a personal luggage , regarding the second one , you may convince the customs authorities ( if it is an ordinary/not a sophisticated one/advanced model) that the same is meant for official usage .,second option is that you are allowed to bring items worth 30,000/- with you, free of duty ., and the first laptop is not included in the aboveI would say, better carry both in laptop bag, instead of 1 in laptop bag and another in check-in bag. You have to pay under the table.Maximum you can bring is 2laptops with duty free charges for one and for the other you have to bribe them
