How will the U.S. retaliate now that Otto Warmbier has died?

Stop Americans from visiting North Korea.I'm reading the answers here, and two erroneous assumptions keep coming up:(1) The North Korean leader is a madman/idiot/lunatic.(2) Otto Warmbier deserved what he got because he visited a hostile foreign power and/or was stupid enough to break a law.Both assumptions are wrong.(1) Kim Jong Un is not an idiot/madman/lunatic. He may well be a murderous psychopath, but he has been acting in exactly the way in which he needs to keep his dictatorship intact.Dictators rule by fear and personality cults. Everything he does inside his country fosters exactly this.His only real threat comes from the United States. After witnessing the U.S. invasion of Iraq (with no justification) and the end of the Hussein regime, the guy has to be thinking about how to prevent a U.S. invasion. The possession of nuclear weapons, and the ability to hit the U.S. mainland with these weapons, would be his best bet for keeping the U.S. from invading North Korea.(2) Otto Warmbier did not break North Korean law. The “proof” was a grainy, shadowy video that surely was manufactured by the North Koreans (his story about wanting a $10,000 reward from a local church is ridiculous and certainly invented by the North Koreans). They wanted this kid as a pawn, and they got him.Now, as far as Warmbier “getting what he deserved”: Otto was just 21, and a very bright and very curious young man. He's visiting China, and has the opportunity to visit North Korea (and hundreds of foreign nationals visit every year with no problems). I would hate for the world to know all the things I did at 21 that were impulsive or not totally thought out. At 21, our brains are still developing, and we continue to do impulsive things. Warmbier no doubt calculated that almost all Americans visit and leave without incident (unless they are proselytizing).I’m sure the last thing Kim Jong Un wanted was Warmbier dead (it makes absolutely no sense). It is far more likely that Warmbier was tortured and deprived of oxygen for too long (his brain injury is consistent with this). I'm betting that some low level torturer got carried away, and the poor kid was deprived of oxygen.So, give Warmbier and his family consideration. This is a horrific loss. Otto did not “deserve what he got”. He was a bright, curious young man who got caught up in international politics, and a tragedy happened.

Can a cogent argument be made that North Korea could invade the United States?

North Korea has boats?North Korean boats could travel thousands of miles across the Pacific without getting pummeled by cruise missiles, submarines, and attack planes?Japan tried this in 1945, when they were comparatively at an advantage to the US - better planes + torpedoes, better tactics, more experienced military - and they got halfway across the Pacific, to Midway Island, before they were stopped.  In the original Red Dawn, the Honduran / Nicaraguan / Cuban communists managed to pull off their invasion by disguising themselves as Mexican illegal-immigrants and infiltrating key infrastructure points like power plants and transit hubs by posing as janitors and maintenance workers.  Maybe the North Koreans could pull off a simliar trick - sending over sleeper cells disguised as shopkeepers. What is the real reason behind the provocation of North Korea?

Its something axiomatic. Unity.To understand this better let's go back to 1950 when the Korean war began. The North under Kim Il Sung invaded the South and the disciplined North pounded the South till….. when American support arrived . Till 1953 the war continued and dragged China into it too on the side of the North. In 1953 a border was prepared and Korea partitioned. So Kim Jong Un the third successor only want to see an united Korea and as America fought against the them in 1950, they want to drive the Americans out. Thats not only the reason, in Vietnam the North won and united Vietnam by DEFEATING THE AMERICANS AND THATS WHAT KIM IS TRYING TO DO. So the nuclear tests and actually have a simple provocation.
