Is Drinking Flavored Water Better Than No Water

Is drinking flavored water the same as regular water?

Its the same as regular water. But to be honest with you, you can get the same benefits and save money in the long run by purchasing a water filter that either attaches to your kitchen sink faucet or comes in water picture with filter on top - then add a dash of concentrated fruit juice to the water or even use a dash of kool-aid. As long as you aren't heaping the koolaid in - you should get almost zero calories.

Drinking flavored water vs. regular water?

That's fine.

The only thing you need to watch out for with those drinks is all of the artificial sweeteners, likely the Splenda brand if it's crystal light.

If you drank this to substitute for all of your water consumption, you would eventually retain more water (allergy to the sweeteners WILL develop over time, nothing serious just water retention and reddened skin.) In addition, these drinks do have calories, the sweetener is simply sugar alcohol, there's no calories per serving, however it can add up, still minimal of course.

Lastly, you may end up with kidney problems for ingesting such a high amount of dyes, and the sweeteners.

I would recommend plain old water, and just one or two of these drinks per day, in moderation it's perfectly healthy!

Can puppies drink flavored water?

I'm not sure what you mean by flavored water, but if you're talking about the fruit flavored bottled water, then the only concern would be if it contained sugar or some kind of sweetener, which most of them do. It can rot their teeth, just like sugared drinks can rot a person's teeth. Do not give your dog carbonated soda water--it can cause serious gas and bloat.

Do non-calorie flavored "water" drinks count toward your daily water consumption?

Yes, it does count towards your water count. The carbonated things won't, because it takes water to digest the carbonation...so you lose water. Also one hundred percent juices will not...because your body will hold them in your gut as food to digest them, instead of absorbing for water. But crystal light is okay and will count. Be careful how much you drink at first though, they use splenda (aka sucralose) and man that will give you the squirts if your body is not used to it...so don't drink too much until you are used to it. You know, I think PUR water filtration systems offers a system that will flavor your water as well...and there are a couple of different flavors.

Is it unhealthy to drink flavored sparkling water?

No it is fineIt has no calories, no sugar. It is significantly better than either fruit juice or diet soda. It is orders of magnitude better than regular soft drinks and frappe beverages from the fast food joint. Yes, it is carbonated. NBD. Brush your teeth. It is probably not as great as plain water, coffee (you should drink 4 cups daily), or tea. Assuming those do not have any cream or sugars added to them. Also, skim milk is better assuming it is organic.I have no problem with flavored sparkling waters.

How do flavored water and regular water differ?

There is actually no difference. All water is indeed “flavored.” I just poured a nice, cold glass from my refrigerator’s water dispenser and tasted like the tubing has never been cleaned in 45 years. The other day at the DMV I refreshed myself at the public water fountain and the flavor was reminiscent of MRSA and cigarettes. Not my favorite flavor of water, but definitely better than the water in the bathroom sink.Try some of these other flavored waters when you find some free time:Toilet tankTapGanges RiverReceding glacier

Should I give my dog and cat flavored water?

You can give a dog or cat flavored water to broaden the spectrum of vitamins your pets recieve, depending on the flavor, and provided you flavor it yourself to reduce chemicals and the “unknown” factor. You can also give an animal who isn’t drinking enough water sugar-water to entice them to drink more water, but I’m not sure that counts as “flavored.”For example, some fruits are good for dogs to eat and provide additional vitamins that may not be in her food, but many fruits are toxic. Here are some good and bad fruits (according to the AKC) that you could squeeze into some water and let them steep for drinking like this:Dog - Good Fruit/Veggies:ApplesBananas (says bananas should not be regular diet)WatermelonStrawberriesOranges (1/3 for small dogs, 1 for large)BlueberriesCarrotsRed parts of TomatoesDog - Bad Fruit/Veggies:GrapesGreen parts of TomatoesAvocadoMushroomsOnionsCherryThe list is longer than that, but you can find the rest and a cat list yourself and compile some good options for both you and your animals. My puppy Baxter has developed tear stains within the past month (“from teething” my friend told me), and a tip his breeder gave me was to squeeze a lemon into his drinking water each week to make them go away…Baxter the longhair deer faced chihuahua and his new, unique tear stains. However, lemons are toxic to cats and dogs :) I think she probably heard that lemon-water removes tear stains when added to bath water and assumed it prevents tear stains through drinking water! Luckily Baxter’s tear stains are only caused by bacterial growth which is the easiest to fix. Here is what I plan to do:Switch my dogs to bottled water to reduce mineral count, add a small amount of apple cider vinegar to the drinking water, be extra vigilant in my bowl sanitizing routine, and keep him on his grooming schedule.Baxter’s water will not be pleasantly flavored ;) but I will taste it to see if it is detectable. In conclusion, flavored water has its uses!Lipstick monsters!!!
