Is drinking ice cold water bad for you?

No,It's not advisable to drink ice water as it restricts the process of digestion by getting absorbed too fast into our body and hinders hydration. When we drink ice water, it shrinks our blood vessels and leads to restriction of digestion process. If we drink ice water after the meal, the nutrients which were supposed to get absorbed by our body to generate energy ;our body will eventually start utilizing our energy to regulate the temperature inside, expending much more energy than required and result into water loss from our body.Cold water solidifies the fats and makes it difficult for our digestive system to work smoothly.Drinking ice water produces more mucus in our body which affects our immune system and makes it easier to catch cold.Drinking moderate temperature water is anytime good for health.Healthy & Happy Living!!!

Why does drinking soda too fast cause your throat to feel this way?

This is a random question. I was just drinking a can of sprite and noticed that whenever I swallow it too fast, I can feel the bubbles and, well, I don't really know how to describe it. A burning sensation? Acidic? It only last for a few seconds of course and it doesnt hurt, its just a different sensation than you would get as opposed to drinking water. I also noticed that if I let it marinate in my mouth for a bit with my saliva, and THEN swallow it, I don't feel that sensation at all. It slowly dies down in my mouth. Why is this so? Its always been like that, but why? I heard from my teacher that it has something to do with the acid in it, can anyone clarify that for me and elaborate a bit? I'm just curious

Health question about water and drinking too fast?

All right, before we begin, no name calling, okay? Let's try to actually be of some help and not "OMG You're such a n00b" and crap. I know the answer will be simple, I just don't know it.

So I was drinking water pretty fast when all the sudden my throat stung bad. I didn't throw up or anything, but I did feel sick immediately after and it hurt to turn a little. I hadn't had anything to drink for about two or three hours, and nothing to eat for a couple hours longer.

My question is why did it sting? Did it go into my lungs? If so, should I be worried?

Does drinking alcohol faster make you drunk more quickly?

Yes. And so does drinking on an empty stomach (absorption rate), as well as drinking when sick, medicated on some meds, or toxic for some other reason (liver processing rate).Drinking a glass of water between drinks will not only help you regulate the speed of your drinking (avoiding binge drinking) but will also help your body process the alcohol.

Is drinking water too quickly bad for the health?

Yes, anything in excess amount can harm your body functioning. In the summer season, we come from outside and drink too much water or after exercise. Sometimes, drinking an extreme amount of water in a short time can be dangerous for a human being. It may cause a sudden drop of sodium or salt level in your blood. That's a condition called hyponatremia. It's very serious, and can be fatal. You may hear it called water intoxication. I will suggest you drink Kangen Alkaline water.

What are the health risks of drinking too much water?

Our body can just absorb a cup of water in an hour? Definitely not true! Our kidneys can maximally pee out 800 to 1,000ml of water per hour. This limits the amount of water you can safely drink after having been rehydrated. We've seen Water intoxication, where people, because of heat and/or exertion (e.g. marching in the heat, stokers working in front of furnaces to supply the furnace with enough coal to burn in the steam engine era of shipping), only drink water without minerals (mainly sodium, like you nowadays find in electrolyte sport drinks). They get really sick. Stokers needed to take salt tablets along with the water they drank to maintain proper balance. Water intoxication also occurs in people who participate in stupid competitions, drinking lots of water (or beer, which contains almost no sodium — 40mg/liter, instead of the recommended 460 - 1,150 mg/liter), and then dying after winning the contest. See HowStuffWorks "How can someone die from drinking too much water?" and Beer-Drinking Champ Dies After Contest. As for drinking continuously over the day, as long as the normal regulatory mechanisms are intact, meaning no heart failure or kidney problems, you will pee out the excess water, so there's no problem, although if your daily water intake exceeded 12 to 16 liters per day, it could overrun the normal regulatory mechanism, leaving the kidneys unable to concentrate the urine and suppressing anti-diuretic hormones, causing you to lose lots of water, even after stopping drinking so much (primary polydipsia see this webpage of the Mayo Clinics on Diabetes insipidus).

What will happen if you drink alcohol fast?

You'll get drunk?? Idiot's beerbong all the time and the only thing that happens to them is they get stupider. I think you'll be fine if you have a few braincells to spare.
