Is Food Poisoning Likely

Food poisoning?

Yep, that's probably food poisoning. Don't eat for about a day, (this will probably upset your stomach and I doubt you're too hungry right now).

Also, very important, get some water, electrolyte water/juice, or gatorade. Take very small sips, often. If you drink too much at once, all the liquid entering your stomach will upset it and will make you throw up. Take your temperature and lay low, you may throw up to get the poisoned food out of your stomach, just stay calm and keep sipping liquid.

How likely is it to get food poisoning from..?

French fries, mozzarella sticks and pepperoni pizza?

even if you THINK it may not happen..how likely is it to happen.

I had all of these today (moderation of course) for the first time in a while (paranoid to eat out because of food poisoning)

don't tell me not to worry because i will i have ocd and cant change my brain chemistry.i wish i could.

Which one of these foods would you most likely get food poisoning from?

Either really, Depends on time and temperature abuse, how long it sat out. Beans have the protiens that go bad and Mayo is time and temp. sensitive.Everyones immune system is different so not everyone will get sick the same.

I bit into a pink burger -- is food poisoning likely?

I let my father cook dinner for me today instead of cooking like I usually do, and I took one bite of the burger he made and it was pink inside. I didn't eat the rest, just the one bite. Is it likely that I'll get food poisoning? He has a habit of under-cooking everything he makes and he consumed much more of the burgers than I did, but am I still at significant risk? Thanks!

Can you get you get food poisoning from pizza?

If there are harmful bacteria, virus, or toxins on the food, then yes, you can get food poisoning. This is unlikely considering the most likely culprits are any meat on the pizza or raw egg in the dough. Most places precook the meat before it ever goes on the pizza, and the pizzas are cooked thouroughly in dry heat which would kill all organisms on the meat, dairy, or vegetables. If you want to know if you are sick, or what caused it, note that food poisoning will result in vomiting AND gastrointestinal distress. (In other words, you're firing from both ends), and fever is common. You will not feel sick until about 6–12 hours after you eat the contaminated food, so if you just ate a pizza twenty minutes ago, you are more likely sick from what you had for breakfast. If you have food poisoning remember to drink LOADS of water, like, amounts you think can't possibly be good for you, because if you have the symptoms listed above you are losing A LOT of water from your stomach, gut, and sweat. If you feel dizzy or cannot stand, get someone to take you to a hospital or call an ambulance.Be safe out there, kids, and don't be scared of pizza!

Will food poisoning kill me?

I see that the question was written April 20. If, in the ten weeks since writing it you DID die, you can now confidently tell them "I told you so!" But if, as is more likely the case, you are now fit and recovered, then you have the answer: "not on that occasion at least"./////The range of food-borne illnesses is very wide, and includes illnesses that can kill you slowly, or rapidly, or (mostly) not at all. The common types are inconvenient and messy, but rarely bring about the demise of the sufferer. Examples are Staphylococcus aureus toxicosis, Bacillus cereus toxicosis, and Norovirus infection. Then there are those which can take advantage of a frail person, or one with underlying conditions, such as any of the 2000+ serotypes of Salmonella (non-typhi) infections. Some are mild, but others are fairly aggressive and even invasive (S. dublin, S. london, S. seftenburg). Clostridium perfringens usually only causes profuse diarrhea but, but type C can cause a more threatening illness. Fortunately it is rare. Yersinia enterocolitica lurks in a food plant, hiding in the cracks and crevices. It enters the ready-to-eat foods and in most cases causes no illness. But should a pregnant or immune-compromised person or a frail elderly person encounter it, the case fatality rate of the illness can be 10% or more.  Shigellosis (bacillary dysentery) is especially dangerous to infants, and in more recent times the Shiga-toxin has been identified in a few forms of E. coli, where it produces an illness with about 15% of cases developing a life threatening kidney failure. The list progresses all the way to the most dangerous food-borne illness of all: Botulism. Fortunately very rare, botulism can cause death in as much as 20-40% of cases if untreated with the appropriate antitoxin. At the current time (July 2016) health inspectors are investigating an outbreak of botulism that seems related to unlicensed use of "Botox". Yes, Botox is the same toxin as in botulism, but in extremely small doses. In Canada, we record as many as 20 cases of botulism each year, particularly among the Inuit, arising from some of the ways their traditional foods are prepared and stored. This is usually type "E" botulism (from marine foods), and by the time the illness has been identified, help is too far away for some victims. (I am sure Scott Welch has stories about this). So the answer is..... Some are lethal, Most are not.

How likely is vomiting from food poisoning likely to last?

depending on the sevarity of the poisoning it could last 23 - 48 hours of notiousness and vomitting.

Drink plenty of fluids to help flush out your system, once the unwanted food is out of your system you should be fine.

Note: if you are having sever reations, dizzyness, severe cramping etc, you should see a DR right away

My friend got food poisoning from Pizza Hut- what can they do?

Guys, please understand that my friend's family does not want to go to court. It is not uncommon where I live, because people cannot be bothered having to put up with appearing in court and all the hassles, which is why many cases of food poisoning go unrecorded.

With the above in mind, she most likely won't be looking to get any money back. I was simply wondering if it was possible to be compensated without going to court, and not necessarily compensated in the form of money either.

I sent a complaint in to Customer Service saying how my friend started vomitting after eating it. A woman by the name of Alicia promptly responded today, telling me she will forward my comments to the owner of the store, but also asked for a phone number, address and phone number used to call the store (if in the case it was ordered).

I just want the Government Department to investigate and see if there is any neglience involved, and if management and employees weren't doing an adequate job.
