Franck Ribéry speaks less than fluent French. Why is this the case, and is it common considering that he was born and raised in France?

This is unfortunately the case for many people in France.Consider President W. Bush and his “internets” or when he said that the French don't even have a word for “entrepreneurship” (if you don't see the point here: entrepreneur IS a French word, meaning that the English speakers don't have a word for it).The fact that one person was born and raised in a country doesn't guarantee the fluency (and sometimes the intelligence) of that person. There are many bright and humanity inspiring people who were born and raised in far mor deprived regions of the world.Franck Ribéry is a sportsman, and not just any sportsman: he's a talented and skilled football player. The only thing requested of him is to make his team win games. If he does, he scores a good deal of money until his career finally finishes and he can enjoy a retired life at 40 (which is soon in his case). Education? What for? He’ll never have to worry about anything as far as money is concerned! Why the heck should he learn to speak his own mother tongue properly? And Ribéry is not an isolated case. I'm saddened to admit that almost all the French international football players suffer from the same lacks in their mother tongue. There are many exceptions, of course (thankfully) but out of all the French sportsman, the football players are the most mocked ones for their inaptitude to express themselves fluently in their own mother tongue. Some very wicked and ill minded people might argue that it's because most of them are from African descent or, in the case of Ribéry, because they are muslims, so they focus on Arabic more than on frenchbor whatever kind of bullshit such people can make up. Well, no. They were all born and raised in France. And went to school in France too. It's just that these guys were spotted very early in their childhood as the future Zidane and they focused on sports rather than academics. Their agent and their coaches had little interest in having them pass the baccalaureate while they could make millions even before being major.
