Is Gamer-heaven.net A Reliable

Which is better for gaming, Linux or Windows?

Alright. Here is what many people miss about Linux. It is more customizable. It is possible to get better performance out of Linux, because you can trim everything from it that doesn’t relate to your specific machine. There don’t have to be ANY drivers present other than the ones your OS needs to use for your machine… and you can make those drivers (in most cases) specific to the hardware in your machine instead of using generic ones.So. With the right Linux friendly hardware, and the right distro of Linux, you can build a VERY stable and fast system. And… it is THEN possible to get some games normally designed for Windows to perform very well under Linux. WINE, and Play On Linux are two suites that can work… you can build a virtual machine to game out of, etc.You can even use a Linux build like Puppy Linux and Slacko Puppy for gaming…. SPECIFIC gaming. Granted, it is an Emulator Heaven kind of gaming, but still. With Linux, in general, you are limited to WHAT GAMES you can play.If you are looking at games that are WINDOWS ONLY, then playing them on Linux would be more difficult, more Resource Hungry (because running Windows in a virtual machine while Linux is also running would use more resources than running that same install of Windows alone)… so there really wouldn’t be much of a possible answer other than Windows… because for those games, Windows would still have to be involved at some point or another. For the games where Windows can be removed… it depends on the hardware and your distro of Linux. If you can configure your Linux to get gaming performance out of your hardware, then you’ll likely have a better experience in a Linux environment than a Windows one, just because the OS would be less of a bottleneck, in terms of available resources. Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because the game went Full Screen, that the OS wasn’t still running in the background. If the OS eats up half the processor and Ram in your system…. sure, it will use less when the game is in full screen, but not as much less as the OS that was only using a quarter to an eighth of your resources to start with. Smaller OS footprint on the system, more resources for the game to use and thus better performance. So POTENTIALLY, Linux provides a better platform to game from. Which is what makes the Steam console so appealing.

India: Can people in India successfully stream on Twitch?

Yes. I stream on YT and Twitch. I want to do it seriously, so I have experimented with all sorts of settings.I don’t know why an “India” specific question when there are plenty of successful twitch streamers who’re Indian (more on that later).Speed or connectivity is not an issue. Here’s the latest details: India's Fastest Broadband Internet Service Providers. If you’re living in the cities where these ISPs serve, you’re in heaven (except Delhi - I have no clue why). Heck, if you’re in a rural setting with basic broadband or 3g/4g, you’re set too. Hayai offers the most speed - 1GBPS (that’s right its GBPS) but only in Mumbai.I used a 3g conn at the first because I was at my ancestral home when the streaming bug bit me 10 days ago. When I came back to the city, I used regular broadband and again I streamed with zero probs.Upload speeds test resultsThe 3g gave me 1mbps upload or less. And the Airtel broadband gave me 10 mbps upload speed or less depending on its mood.OBS SettingsOn obs use fps of 20 and bitrate of 800 when using 3g or a bad connection. Use an fps of 30 or more when using broadband or even 4g and a bitrate slightly less than the upload speed (3500 for 4MBPS upload). The ISPsI use Airtel because they’re highly reliable and I plan on getting their 100MBPS connection once I get a few sponsors - Razer’s already onboard. I hear Hathaway offers an even better conn speed. Also, most good univs offer 30mbps upload speeds nowadays with a cap per student per day of course. So you can use that if you're a student.Successful Indian/Indian Origin Twitch StreamersI follow a couple of successful indian streamers like lirik, cyanide, etc. Check them out. Lirik is one of the biggest streamers on twitch. After about 10 days of testing settings, setups, networks, I can say that all you really need is the will to do it. I mean I just wanna play games and make new friends, and streaming seems to check both those boxes. Good luck with your streams. Also, here’s the ESL India channel: ESL_India - Twitch I only looked for it because of this question.

What is the most reliable make and model of gaming laptops that won't break you financially?

Personally, I would guess that something like a Razer, a Surface Pro, or a MacBook to be among the type of things you would consider excessive.Any mobile device with a GTX 1060 or higher has the potential of developing heat-related issues. The GTX 1050 Ti is much more efficient than those higher end models while having 20% more cores and double the VRAM of a GTX 1050. So, that is where your sweet spot will be in mobile gaming.8GB of DDR4 is more than enough for any gaming you will want to be doing on a laptop, and a 120GB SSD is sufficient for a system drive, although I highly recommend a 250GB Samsung 960 EVO. The Samsung M.2 drives are just so much better than all other drives out there, that it is a shame not to have one in your machine. The cheapest models you will find with these specs are probably the Acer Nitro series, which start around $750. I’ve owned a few Acers over the years, and the reliability is okay. Let’s just say that you get what you pay for.In my opinion, the absolute best deal anywhere at the moment, however is a GTX 1050 Ti Eluktronics N870HK1 with true quad-core i7–7700HQ processor, 17-inch IPS screen and RGB keyboard for $680 thru NewEgg.You need to install your own RAM and SSD, which will add another $200 to the price, but what you end up with is one serious barn burner for under $900.For $117, the unparalleled 250GB NVMe Samsung 960 EVO will run so fast, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to PC heaven. 8GB of Crucial Ballistix and the i7-HQ will make sure that the beautifully capable GTX 1050 Ti never gets bored while pumping liquid smooth graphics to that huge 17-inch screen. The only other upgrade I’d strongly recommend is a garden variety 2.5-inch 240GB SSD ($49) for music, downloads and games. This unit comes with a driver DVD that you will need to transfer onto a USB flash drive.

Which is better: Mac or Asus Laptop?

Don't get the Macbook. I think you should go with an Asus PC. There are plenty of high build quality laptops out there that come with Windows 7, and are very reliable. And you do gaming? Macs are definitely not prime for gaming. Stick with the ASUS.

When you buy a Mac you are purchasing a laptop at a price premium, for the brand name, which may not be able to do all you can do with an ASUS. Let me put it this way, if you got an ASUS for the same price as a laptop, it'd be one heck of a machine. With Macs you will run into compatibility issues, expenses upgrades, and a lack of customization. Also, the Microsoft Office programs you want (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) were all made to work on a Windows OS, and work with much more efficiently on Windows.

Good luck on your search, you should really look into the power of some of the higher-end, high quality laptops available currently.

What are the benifits and qualities of Saggittarians?

It's spelled 'sagittarian' by the way.

Being born a sagittarian, I'd have to say hot, sexy, and better at everything than anyone else born at another time of the year.

Should you consider eSports as a career?

Ooooo. Thanks for the A2A.Was waiting for this question. So have you heard of Oblique Gaming? or NBSports? They are part of the Indian Dota 2 professional scene and their roster consists of all my best friends and my life before a job.I have been playing Dota 2 since its beta release and the addiction to play professional is insane, but you already know that. What I can tell you is the choices---A. Education -> Job. You study while keeping gaming as a pasttime. Enjoy it but do not make a career out of it. Do not follow your passion of Dota 2 beyond a limit. Get a decent job, make your parents proud.B.Play like crazy-> Play professional->Be happy. Well the be happy part is only if you are crazy behind the game . You have to have supportive parents. You have to be insanely good at the role you play, you have to prove that your team can rely on you, whether its carry, support or offlaner. You have to prove your teammates that you are worth a shot at professional gaming. METAs change daily, you have to adapt, play professional at a superior level than all other noobs and come through to make it to international tournaments like DAC,TI, etc.I chose A. Engineering in IT. Working at an MNC. Decent Job. Play Dota 2 for fun. With the same friends who folllowed B--They play tournaments. Earn like heaven. Spend like hell. They love what they do. They do what they love. All I get to hear is the freaking awesome stories , of how they owned with an all carry team, how they raped Mushi, in a random matchmaking, and then got fucked by his entire team :P. The midnight matches, the pinoys, the russians, the swearing, the 6-slot Natures Prophet who threw the game, and all I can think is, I could have been there playing with them, having fun all this time...So its your choice, you need a lot of support from your family, your friends, and your skillset .As of today- I am Tarush Jain. Software Engineer. And he is - OG.Haunter.
