Is Shaquille O'Neal highly overrated as an NBA player compared to modern greats such as Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, etc.?

Let me be the first to not jump on the Shaq train.I really like the guy as a person, like the others who mentioned how he's a jokester and fun to watch as a commentator. However, even with the monster stat lines people mention, they aren't taking much note of the way he played and the simple fact that he was MUCH bigger than anyone else in the league. How do you stop a guy who is 3x stronger and bigger than you and uses that advantage to simply push you out of his way? That's why there were rule changes eventually, making much of how Shaq played callable as offensive fouls.Throw in the inability to shoot free throws, a true testament to a very poor work ethic, and I can't see why anyone would look up to him as a basketball role model. He's a freak of nature who was in the right place at the right time and yet, still couldn't propel any team to victory without another superstar to help him. And that was in an era when there were, at most, 10 true stars in the league. Hakeem did it with a lot less size, a lot more grace and no Kobe.

How can I feel comfortable with my height?

Stop listening to other people (except me, of course).Unless your height is causing you physical pain (e.g. as a result of gigantism, which can strain the heart and cause other problems), the only source of discomfort over your height is other people and their attitudes. Height itself doesn’t cause any problems except some health problems at the extremes. No matter how short or how tall you are, there will be people who are prejudiced towards your height, and people who will like you because you are you, and who don’t consider height to be a quality worthy of praise or blame (it is a mere involuntary physical quality, not a moral virtue nor an intellectual gift). Look for people who place character above physical appearance and hang out with them. My mother always told me that good things come in my size, so height was never a major issue. There probably are famous people your height, whatever it may be. Tell yourself that their height didn’t stop them from being successful.

Why am I so tall and big (a 12 year old girl, 6'3" and 265 lbs)? My father is 5'8" and 150 lbs and my mother is 5'4" and 115 lbs. I play basketball and volleyball in my school team. Am I fat? The doctor says I am not fat but people do.

Hello Nadia.Since both of your parents are quite short and you ended up extremely tall and big, especially at such a young age, there could be one of three explanations. Either one of your parents have the recessive gene for tallness and it skipped them, but didn’t skip you. Or, you are wrong or lying about your height, weight, and age. Or, you could potentially have some sort of pituitary gland issue. If your doctor talked to you already, then they should have been able to detect that or not, but either way, it still couldn’t hurt to ask them if you may have gigantism or a pituitary gland imbalance.Even at your awesome height, I would say that being 265 pounds and female, you are in the “obese” BMI category, even if you are athletic and active. It’s hard to say if you are “fat” or not without looking at you, but even adult men would likely be heavyset at 265 pounds (I am quite short myself and also physically active, but I weigh close to 300, so can tell you this from experience). As to why you are so big, it would be extremely hard to know for certain without medical professionals, especially considering how young you are and how much bigger you are compared to your short and light parents. However, regardless of this, you can think of your impressive size as a gift (assuming you are healthy), as you have even said you do basketball and volleyball, and could end up becoming quite the lucrative and talented female athlete because of it.

God made man in His own image. Some men are born with facial deformities. Does God have Downs Syndrome?

Is there any health risk with being 7 feet tall?

My friends Dad was 6ft 11. He died a few years ago at 86. He smoked rollups, loved a beer and worked as a digger driver until his late 60’s.I'm 6ft 4. 58 and healthy. I can't see as an inch makes one unhealthy. Or being shorter gifts good health- its a genetic lottery. Although I have read that big guys have more cancers and little guys have more heart trouble. No idea if true but would follow that I have more cells to go wrong and a little guys heart clogs up easierI think that some guys of exceptional height have pituitary gland problems and from that there's health consequences. Robert Wadlow was almost 9 ft tall at 19 and still growing when he died of sepsis- related to his height. He walked with a stick and was not healthy.I don't think that 7ft is automatically unhealthy. Although for sure at my height I bang my head more often than average guys and at 7ft I imagine one has a head like a bag of walnuts :-)

Why am I so tall? What can I do to make myself shorter?

So I'm a 16 yr old guy and I'm 6 foot 9. I don't like being so tall, everywhere I go a lot of people stare at me and I think I'm the tallest guy in my entire school. My body looks fine and is in proportion. There is nothing wrong with my skull figure or anything like that. I don't have pain anywhere, i'm not weak, and I can work out with no problem. I have low blood pressure and my kidneys are functioning very well. I weight 203 lbs and that is normal weight. So I can't have gigantism. I'm currently playing basketball and working out, do you think that is what is causing it? I never take steroids. Genetics probably doesn't have anything to do with it cuz my father is 5 foot 9, my mother is 5 foot 6, my sister is 5 foot 6 and brother is 5 foot 8. Am I just about done growing or is there still more inches to come? Is there anything I can do to either make myself shorter or stop my growth if I'm still growing?? I want to do it naturally, not by medicine or drugs. And do you girls like tall guys?
