Is He Doing This Out Of Spite Or Is There Another Reason

What does it mean to do something out of spite?

To do something out of spite means that the motive for doing it is based on contempt, a grudge, hatred, malice etc and the intent is usually to hurt the feelings of someone.

What is the reason for not being able to explain something in spite of knowing much about it?

Albert Einstein said: “If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.”I am a science communicator (Especially Physics and Mathematics), and I do write philosophical essays. When I started this job after obtaining my second Master’s in Theoretical Physics in Belgium, I was aware of the difference between getting excellent marks in the exams and understanding deeply the topics. A semester is not enough to grasp a topic. One needs to do a lot of readings and many discussions with his/her peers and professors. This leads to understand the topic from all the angles. Not to mention explaining the topic, just the fact that a PhD student in Theoretical Physics can’t make any progress if she/he has some gaps in understanding the topic, one can’t go beyond something unless he/she masters it.So, concerning your question after this introduction, I claim that the main reason why one can’t explain something in spite of knowing much about it is that there is a different between knowing much about something and understanding it. This makes the brain like a bag containing info but not in a coherent logical manner. The process of learning starts with gathering data or info, then making relationships between them. Understanding is an upper level. The second reason in my opinion is related to the skill of teaching or presenting a thesis or an idea. I met some Noble Prize Laureates, and even though there is no doubt that they understand and master completely the physics, few of them are able to communicate this understanding to the public. The skill of teaching or explaining requires a simple language, an imagination to think about explanatory examples and metaphors. Finally, I’d add to Einstein’s quote: “If you can't explain it simply, you either don't understand it well enough or/and don’t have the skills of breaking thing down.”

What does mean to do something out of spite?

When you do something petty, or mean, or harmful -- just to hurt or upset or cause discomfort to someone else.

There is no logic or reason or benefit in the action - just wanting to hurt someone else.

What causes a car alarm to keep going off for no reason?

There is no such thing as an alarm going off “for no reason”. I say this as someone who has investigated thousands of alarms - burglary alarms, hostage alarms, bank alarm systems… - when I worked in private Security in emergency intervention. But of course there are alarms which go off “for I don’t know what reason”. That, however, is not the same thing as “for no reason”.That reason can be a number of things, including a technical defect (short-circuit or something similar), a moth triggering a motion sensor in a building alarm system, or Brian from department 4B who keeps opening the emergency escape door clearly marked “Do not open this door except in an emergency. It is under alarm! Yes, that applies to you too, Brian!” Because Brian wants to go outside to have a smoke on the fire escape. And then of course Brian swears he didn’t open the door, in spite of the fact that he is on video doing it (sigh). But that’s another story. If an alarm goes off for a reason which isn’t obvious, you need to start investigating. Testing, observing, resetting and trying all over again. We tried never to leave the site of an alarm without at least a plausible reason why the darned thing went off. But best of all, a no-doubt: “This is why it went off, and here is what can be done to prevent this in future”-report.Question as originally answered: What causes a car alarm to keep going off for no reason?

How to get the dog to stop peeing in my sons room?

im not sure. but maybe she is trying to protect her territory. so if another dog smells the room he/she knows the room is your dogs area. my dog would always pee near my little brother when he was around a year. dogs can sense little babies. <------heard that on animal planet. anyway, she may stop after he gats a little older which my dog did. we also gave little smacks on the butt but she never stoped. like i said she stopped as my brother grew about a year and a half and started walking. I would keep the doors closed and take the dog outside on a leash when she appears to have to go,then I would sanitize your sons room

also sounds like she is marking her territory-she needs to be told in a stern voice,NO!! It's the smell. Even with cleaning, if you're not getting every bit of the urine smell out, the dog is smelling it.

Try cleaning the area where the dog goes with white vinegar. That will help neutralize it. But to be frank, you might have to out the old carpet, get some good professional cleaners down on what ever the base was and replace the carpet to get the smell completely out.

You should also get your dog on a schedule. Go back to crate training for a while. Take the dog outside after it's been sleeping, eating, drinking or playing. Use a command with his eliminations (I use "go potty") and praise when it goes outside.

Unless you catch the dog IN THE ACT, punishing or hitting the dog will not help at all. If you catch the dog in the act, a vebal "no" or "eh-eh" then taking the dog to the outside potty spot is appropriate.

The dog is in the habit of doing this so you're not going to get it to stop right away. Going back and doing potty training as if it's a puppy (meaning about 8 trips outside a day) will help a lot. you may want to go to this websitei provided. its a show in real life and the host lady always trains angels from the most rotten dogs. i also heard of this spray that can be sprayed on the carpet and on the door of your sons room. the spray makes your dog not go to the bathroom there at all. we got some at petsmart or we also saw it at petco as well. it works very well. its probably also another reason my dog stopped peeing near my brother. http://animal.discovery.com/tv/its-me-or-dog/index.html

How can I get my cat to stop peeing out of 'spite'?

Okay, so my cat, I love her, and I do not want to get rid of her. She's very sweet but she's started peeing all over the place and I'm pretty sure it's on purpose. She's been better now that I let her out in the morning and the afternoon. If I don't let her out though she is likely to pee on the carpet or someplace else. I keep my litter very clean, she's fixed, not declawed. She only pees when I am home making me think it's out of spite. Also, I went on a vacation this weekend and left my cat with my fiance. She pooped on his floor twice and when I got home she peed in my suitcase! If that's not saying she's mad at me for leaving I don't know what does. I was only gone for a few days and I try to spend plenty of time with her when I'm home. But I don't know how to get her to stop doing this? Is there such thing as a pet behaviorist? And if so how do I search for one? I don't want to give her up, she's really a very sweet cat and so beautiful too.

Why do some hugely successful bands break up in spite of the band's success?

So, there are a few reasons why a successful band can break up. The first one is a death of a band member. This can cause bands to not play anymore, simply because they don’t want to play without that person. An example of this would be the death of John Bonham in 1980. This caused one of the most successful bands ever, Led Zeppelin, to disband. Another reason why successful bands will break up is because they don’t want to make music together anymore. There can be a variety of reasons on why they don’t want to. The best example of this would be The Beatles. The start of their breakup would be when their manager died in late 1967. Paul McCartney took charge. The rest of them didn’t like that. Things escalated in 1968 during the White Album sessions when the band members would bicker with each other constantly. Some causes of the bickering would be McCartney’s perfectionist nature, Lennon’s future wife Yoko Ono, and Lennon’s heroin addiction. Eventually, Lennon privately told the rest of the band in mid-1969 that he was going to leave the band. McCartney announced it publicly in early-1970. Arguments caused the most successful band of all time, to disband.

Considering the way Kavanaugh was treated in confirmation hearings, is it likely that he will reverse Roe v Wade out of spite or for other valid judicial reasons?

Although he certainly has threatened vengeance he is only one voice on the court. Motivations aren’t in themselves something you can know in another person. His views will likely be influenced by his resentment of what happened in the hearings. He didn’t seem to have proper gratitude for the honor of being nominated, but appeared to feel entitled. If he does vote to reverse and it succeeds, other justices will also be responsible for the decision. You can’t say that he reversed it out of spite himself. The shift to a more extreme conservative court is concerning and he contributes to that, but it’s not like he can snap his fingers and change everything on a spiteful whim.
