From all the evidence I see, they are really wanting to put Paul Ryan up as their puppet. (Sorry if that sounds offensive but it's been said more than once, they don't want someone who will think for themselves, they want someone who will do their bidding.) That, I think, is what's been going on. You've got a guy, Charles Koch, who is beyond the pale. He was raised by a Nazi, his nanny who loved Hitler. His dad was instrumental in supplying oil for the Nazis after helping Stalin. He is a John Bircher from birth. If you want oligarchy or tyranny, you want Republicans. Especially if you lean towards a fondness for a dictator.Trump is the only candidate who is not in Koch's control but this deal maker, Trump would sell favors to get what he wants, personally. He's not interested in anyone but himself. That is in large part why he will not be allowed to win. They won't blatantly manipulate Romney into position, they are already lining up to put Paul Ryan in. Ryan, who did the prima donna, "Don't make me the Speaker unless all these conditions are met." How can so many Mormons in Utah support Trump? Mormons are known for high standards, high morals & being an example for others. I realize every person can be deceived by the Devil, but how many Mormons?
I am a life-long Mormon (Latter-Day Saint) and a former very conservative Republican, raised in Utah and living in Illinois. I am non-plussed that so many Mormons (in Utah or anywhere else) can support this narcissistic, dishonest, racist, divisive man.Many people reference Hilary Clinton’s “corruption.” She was investigated for years by numerous congressional committees and was never found guilty of any crimes. True, she came across as abrasive and unlikable, and I would not want to be her neighbor. But in terms of experience, she was hands-down more qualified than Trump: first-lady, Secretary of State, Senator. Trump’s experience: failed bully business owner, reality show prima donna.Trump’s only experience has been the dictator of his own companies, with no board of directors to counsel him. How can he possibly be the president of the country, where his role and power are limited by the balance of powers and the constitution? Furthermore, he is ignorant of the law and the constitution. The man is a rude racist bully, and should never have been allowed to be president.Mormons are told (D & C 98, 9–10) “Wherefore, honest men and wise men [and women, of course] should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men [and women] ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil.”How can anyone claim that Trump is good, wise or honest?Many people say that we should support Trump because he is the elected president. Correction: we should support him IF HE FULFILLS HIS OATH OF OFFICE TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION. He is not upholding the constitution, but undermining it. (E. g.: de-legitimizing the press, which is an attack on the First Amendment.) The president REPORTS TO THE PEOPLE, and we have no obligation to support or facilitate a president who is dangerous to the country.It is my hope that Mormons (in Utah and elsewhere) can wake up and recognize that this man is an EXISTENTIAL THREAT to the country.The only way this man can make America “great” would be to resign from the presidency.
