Is Hln Truly A Liberal Channel

Why do conservatives view CNN as a very liberal biased news source?

Because CNN is a very liberal biased news source (and I am no fan of Trump and watch CNN everyday...) In fact, I don’t think CNN would disagree that they are biased. I think it’s actually very obvious to everybody. What isn’t obvious is exactly why. Why is CNN so biased? The answer may surprise you. It has everything to do with Google —and ratings AND advertising sales. The days of the news just being watched on TV are long gone. People now get their news over the internet, usually after conducting a search. Further, each news source has a well defined market. Gone are the days of a news station being generalized. First, I’ll discuss Google…How a news station ranks in Google will determine over half of the eyeballs on a story and a substantial portion of their advertising revenue. After all, the internet is world wide. Cable TV is highly localized and with Google Adwords, advertising revenue is worldwide.Make Google happy, you will be happy.Google has adjusted their algorithm to favor liberal news sources and PUNISH conservative news sources. After all, Google is a very liberal company headquartered in one of the most liberal areas of the country: Mountain View, California. If you’ve ever been to Mountain View, Palo Alto, and/or the surrounding area, you know what I mean! Everything about how Google works has been intentionally and systemically built to lean liberal. By being so liberally biased, CNN has become #1 on Google. In fact, CNN even higher than BBC and other sources that are much less biased and have higher journalistic and ethical standards (BBC is tops in the industry.)If you don’t believe me, check out my search engine, 4Conservative.com, and see all the news out there you’re missing because Google shoved it to the bottom. You’ll see many of these news sources are actually not fake news and even conservative news sources can be critical of Trump (and often are…) 4Conservative.com rebalances the algorithm to level the playing field. You will also see news from CNN and other top liberal sources, but you won’t miss the top conservative sources.—Michael LevyI’m the founder of 4Conservative.com | The Conservative Search Engine, one of over 2000 4Search.com search engines that let you search by topic and interests. Is HLN truly a liberal channel?

I usually twitch between, local, fox, and HLN news.

Being a conservative I usually watch HLN because I like the reporters and some of the things they report on, rather than solely base their reports on congressional events like CNN or FOX.

However, I've heard that HLN is basically the child of CNN. But I can't get a grip on why.

1. They don't bias their news like CNN or FOX

2. They report all major headlines

3. They are all for the death penalty and punishment, especially Nancy Grace.

4. They didn't try to turn their views against the Republicans like CNN has been doing. More or less they are reporting it as a fault of both sides, which I respect.

Can someone give me their personal opinion as to whether they think it is truly liberal or not. If they are liberal like CNN, then why do they differ in such large ways?

Why are Liberals act so intimidated by Fox News?

Liberals are allergic to the truth so Fox gives them hives.

How do I detect liberal or conservative bias in news sources?

You can see bias in a few different places. Some news media will be very open about their bias (“The Red Flag”, for example may be openly left wing). Mainstream media tends to be reasonably accurate in what they report, buth their bias will be in how they report it and what they do or don't report. For example, when Bernie Sanders went from an almost complete unknown to winning primaries against Hillary Clinton who seemed to be the most eminently qualified candidate in generations, the MSM seemed to focus on his losses rather than his shocking wins. When a black man, who was kicked out of every Black Lives Matter group he went to, went on a shooting rampage at a Dallas BLM event, many MSM reporters (especially to the right like FOX) just reported on the fact that he was Black, and tried to saddle BLM with blame for the shooting. When a bunch of (white) ranchers at Bundy Ranch ( Wikipedia) pointed guns at government agents and law enforcement, threatened their lives and even brought out a local sheriff at gunpoint to repudiate his responsibility to enforce the law and a lawsuit (that Bundy started and lost), Fox News hailed them as patriots and heroes. When a spokesperson from the Bundy ranch went to Las Vegas, murdered two police officers and wrapped their half-naked bodies in a Tea Party flag, their connection to the Bundy Ranch was downplayed. (compare this to BLM above)When a right-wing radicalized man ambushes sheriff’s deputies killing one and wounding 6, you may notice how little attention is paid to his radicalization. Consider how this would have been treated if he had been Muslim.Further to the right, you will see news organizations that push Trump’s 'Fake News Awards' , for MSM while ignoring completely fabricated articles further from the right.

How liberal or conservative is each major news source considered?

All of this is subjective, but if you want to start with a reasonably objective list, you can’t go wrong with Media Bias/Fact Check which does a decent job of organizing media sources in the spectrum of extreme left to extreme right, plus listing those that are for nutjobs and for people who cannot tell fake news from real satire. However, it is important to not simply look at their positioning of a news source, but also their less prominent “Factual reporting” rating and their description of specific attributes on their page for each source. For instance, both The Blaze and The National Review are in the “right bias” list, but the former’s factual reporting is “mixed” (meaning they post BS a little too often) and the latter is “high.” The same difference can be found between DailyKos and Talking Points Memo — the difference between a site run by multiple authors with little editorial control vs. a professional news organization.

Why does Fox News enjoy better ratings than CNN and MSNBC?

Fox has better ratings because there is no other channel where a Republican can go for news and get through a half hour without throwing up their hands in disgust and amazement. When you have a single choice that is in better alignment with half the market, competing against an array of a half dozen or more channels (not to mention other media like web sites and print media), it's not hard to capture a big audience. The questioner almost certainly believes that conservative political philosophy is itself selfish and hate filled. I suspect they don't spend a lot of time watching Fox News, but that is my suspicion only. If they could work not from some particular single quote by a guest interviewee, but that a transcript of a news broadcast, and point out the selfish, manipulative and hate-filled parts, I would be glad to respond. No channel is telling lies. Working media professionals try to be objective. But they see the world through their own political philosophies. The editors and writers and owners of NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, The Washington Post and the New York Times can all jump up and down and go red in the face and swear that they are not partisan. All I would ask is for anyone to make me believe that if you took all those people and made them into a voting precinct, they would have given the House of Representatives to the Republicans in 2010. If you believe that they would not have, as I believe they would not have, then they are not representative of the voters and just simply see the world differently. If anyone is having trouble believing that I'm serious, pick a transcript from a newscast, or the front page of one of those two newspapers from any given day, and I will walk you through the significant number of judgments that I see based on the political views of the media. Of course I'd be glad to do the same with Fox. My point isn't that anyone is good or bad. My point is that philosophy informs perception.

Why is FOX News turning on Donald Trump?

There has always been a bit of tension within Fox News between the actual journalists they employ — people like Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace, who had journalistic careers before joining Fox and think of themselves as journalists first and foremost, even if they either agree with or at least accept Fox’s deliberate conservative editorial bent — and the talk show hosts and entertainers on Fox, like Sean Hannity or Bill O’Reilly. The real journalists are more likely to challenge Trump when he says something like “the media are the enemy of the American people.” And if there are real, sourced stories being reported that suggest wrongdoing by the Trump administration, these Fox journalists are not likely to ignore them. But the programs on which they regularly appear air at less widely watched times of day.Meanwhile, people like Hannity and O’Reilly openly admit they are not journalists (at least, Hannity does) but their shows get a lot more viewers, and they are more or less the faces of Fox News. And they (especially Hannity) have made clear that they will defend Trump about almost anything he does or says. I wouldn’t expect this to change any time soon.So has Trump lost Fox News? I don’t think most people who watch Fox will see it that way, since what they watch mostly are the non-journalistic shows that air in prime time. But Fox does employ some people who are legitimate journalists even if they spend their time reporting within the stilted Fox News landscape. You can expect to see them being more critical. And less noticed.

Any real conservatives hate FOX News?

Wow I guess there isn’t any conservatives that hate Faux News talk about brainwashed government propaganda.
All neo conservatives seem to over populate but at least the republican party is dying because they don't stick to their roots.
As for SinDelle and Katana you guys clearly don’t have much comprehension because Christine states “All media is biased you have to watch a combination of them to get a better picture even then they only tell you want they want you to know.”

Im libertarian
