How can you check if a website is safe and not a scam?
Do a google search of the website name and url and look for reviews. (Reviews written in forums by real people.)Look for ssl certificate information for the domain name. (Most reputable sites are using ssl by now.) SSL Certificate CheckerDo a whois search of the domain url and see what registration information is available on the url in question.(see if the information matches the website or seems fishy, check dates of registration and contact info.)Look for good contact information on the website, contact them, begin a dialog.
