Is International English Now So Strong That It Is A Threat To Other Nations

Why is NORTH KOREA a THREAT to NATIONS!?

at the end of World War two, the Korean peninsula was divided between the two Koreas (South and North). North Korea with the allied communist backing invaded South Korea (which the United States, and UN backed). At first South Korea was almost completely taken over, but the United States was able to push back the Communists all the way to the Chinese border, but than China became involved in the war on the side of the North, and eventually the border stablized roughly where the war began (with hundreds of thousands of dead.) North Korea since than, has been itching for the chance to try to take over South Korea, and is based on a autocratic government of which the majority of the country is impoverished with a lack of food, oil and has almost no outside contact through the internet and the radio and telephones controlled by the government. A few years ago, North Korea has used old Soviet reactor to build atomic bombs.

SO, countries such as Japan, and South Korea (and the United States troops still stationed there) perceive North Korea as a threat. Omitted details were North Korean agression since the ceasefire, such as numerous border conflicts, North Koreans launching artillery strikes on south korean civilians, and naval conflicts involving gunboats and the sinking of a S. Korean frigate.

Israel warns Internation community that they will not let Iran come near completion of Nuclear weapons?

I don't really see what the UN would possibly do. The better question is, would the United States be strong enough to even support Israel in a war with Iran. The United State already has its hands tied with Afghanistan and Iraq a war in Iran could have devastating consequences. Not only would causalities become heavy, but the potential for other countries to get involved is very high. Syria and Russia, Russia has already threatened military action against Israel if Israel attacked Iran's nuclear facilities. Some people see a war with Iran as possibly getting the ball rolling for a WW III. Also, with American stretched to it's limits it give countries like North Korea the perfect opportunity to attack South Korea, and possibly China attacking Taiwan but, I don't really see that happening. Honestly I think its all a bunch of hype into scaring Iran, I do not see the United States allowing Israel to follow through, Israel doesn't even have the funds for war right now. Iran would only become a threat if provoked, and Israel would be idiotic to even attempt war with Iran right now.

Israel is and always has been the main threat to the safety of certain countries and they are going to end up putting the face of the Untied States on something they don't want to be a part of, Israel is the one who needs to be put in their place, they have always itched for conflict.

In the world of Navies, only three nations right now are considered to have first class or "Blue Water" navies.  A blue water navy is capable of projecting a certain amount of power anywhere on Earth.  Those nations are the USA, France and the UK.  Russia is *this* close to having one and could again in about 5 years if she really tried.  The Russian Navy is -- today -- kind of rusty (okay, very rusty) sitting in port for lack of money, using outdated technology, etc. Submarines do not a blue water navy make you.  Russia, China, the US, UK, France, Italy, Canada and Australia all have some nice submarines.  India, South Korea and Saudi Arabia are all on their way.  But as important as subs are, they're not a blue water navy.  There is a combination of factors that make a blue water navy a "blue water navy", it is the presence of aircraft carriers of X size and quantity, the presence of subs, the presence of a network of overseas bases capable of servicing that fleet, it is the presence of certain technology in the ships and it is the presence of a certain caliber of non-aircraft carrier surface ships (destroyers, cruisers, etc.).   Re:  "What's this about? Why doesn't Spain have one? Or Portugal? Or the Netherlands? Or Greece? Or any of the coastal Arabic countries? Especially given Spanish/Portuguese/Dutch colonial history. If the answer is that they have navies just not first class, then perhaps the question should be: why does, say, France have a first class navy but not Spain?"Military budget.  List of countries by military expenditures (in billions of US dollars):United States - $640.0People's Republic of China - $188.0Russia - $87.8Saudi Arabia - $67.0France - $61.2United Kingdom - $57.9Germany - $48.8Japan - $48.6India - $47.4South Korea - $33.9Spain, Greece and the Netherlands don't have enough military spending (likely too low of a GDP to support military spending sufficient to fleet a navy) in billions of US dollars:Spain - $12 Greece - $7Netherlands - $11Portugal - $4

The USSR was far, far stronger but it was also fragile.Russia is much weaker in every way, in terms of military power, in population and in resources too and most of all economically. The paradox is that the Russian State is much more ‘robust’ than the Soviet Union was.Almost no-one living in Russia today thinks that Russia should not exist and that the state itself is illegitimate. The mass of the population do not hold secret views at variance with the official view. Although there are political prisoners in Russia and opposition politics is ‘curbed’, there is no sense that if Russia wasn’t held together by the secret police and a network of camps, that the country would break up as the Soviet Union did. This ‘robustness’ allows Russia to act in a single-minded way, so where the West vacillated over its interventions in Libya and Syria, worrying about casualties, the nature of the people it was supporting etc, Russia uses force to advance its agenda and support its clients. The biggest flaw that Russia has, is not that its busted petro-economy cannot support its military, or that its population is shrinking, or that real rule of law has not been established, or that wealth is concentrated in a few hands, or even, Vodka, (these are all issues), it is that there is a great harking back to the supposed ‘golden era’, the Soviet Union and a feeling of ‘victimhood’ in its present reduced condition. This is of course understandable but it is a flaw, no sorry it’s a fault-line. It drives Russia to strong man politics, to opportunistic wars and to over-estimate its strength and dangerously over-play its hand.

Is it possible for people to set aside strong feelings they might have about issues?

In a very small way, Americans in particular seemed to do this in the aftermath of 9/11. Tragedy and impending doom can bring out the best or the worst in people but it is possible for us to band together. That is our best hope to avert a NWO that is really about the global consolidation of power. In life there is always a struggle between good and evil, both within and without and the only thing that keeps our selfish and fearful tendencies in check is love for ourselves and each other, understanding about the nature of the problem and courage to do something about it.

We've been sold a bill of goods (at usurious prices) that things will confer status and happiness to our lives when in fact what we own ends up owning us. What I mean by that is that we begin to identify with what we have rather than what we are and money colors the way we see others. Besides things can't love you back and lose their appeal after owning them a short while. It's instant gratification and not contentment.

In terms of personal opinions, it is hard not knowing in life, and the temptation is to cling to a world view (usually inherited and unchallenged) to help us feel safe. Not to get partisan, but I know a lot of Republicans who really get nothing out of their party affiliation but buy into the world-view far divorced from reality. They believe it's the party of freedom, family and apple pie, when in fact recent policy has been anything but. Those who call themselves Democrats are kind of the left-overs-diverse and often equally deluded about the nature of their own party. They believe their party is the one safe guarding civil liberties (has been partly historically true I'll grant you), arbiters of social justice (when merely they are band aids that fail to address the problem) and for "the little guy" (not fully appreciating the money it takes to win a major campaign and the special interests to which they will be beholden.) Both parties work within the same paradigm and neither really has the answers we seek. But the rhetoric sure sounds good, I'll grant you. People must be willing to challenge their own world view, if we are going to avert disaster. And soon! You can't solve a problem, if you don't understand it to begin with.

Does North Korea have many allies?

Yes, China.... Oh and Russia

North Korea (motto: 강성대국"Powerful and Prosperous Nation") could not have survived this long without China. And China is the world 's next Economic and Military superpower. Also North Korea has an insanely large military relative to their population and GDP. And they are less than 100 miles from the world's 2nd largest metropolitan area (Seoul); close enough to start some mess if they wanted to. And they've got a nutjob leader and an unhappy populace that's been lied to for decades (can we say instability ?). And there are strong ties between Pyongyang and Russia (the country that BUILT North Korea). North Korea is not in a position to take over the world, but they are strong enough and positioned well enough to cause problems and demand expensive attention.
