Is It A Fair Price To Pay Over $200 For A Used Book From The 80

Should I pay tax if I buy a used car from a private party?

Real simple. Do not gift a car to a stranger. If your transaction happens to get audited, then you might be subject to a penalty as it will be clear you do not know the person and would not really be giving them a car.
As a funny side note, do you think the many people that work at the DMV and deal with thousands of transactions per day never thought of this? Of course they did.
Most states audit sales prices compared to market value, so if a 10k car is sold for 3k or gifted to a person with a different last name at a different address, expect an audit letter.

You could write the bill of sale for 80% of the actual price. Get a certified check for the 80% and cash for the 20%. Write a bill of sale for the 80% amount and take cash for the other 20%.

Why are used cars still so expensive?

Those people trying to sell their cars themselves are living in a dream world. The bottom has fallen out of the truck and suv market. They're only worth $4000 to $8000 BACK of book value on a trade in.

These people refuse to believe their vehicle has crashed in the market. So they're trying to sell it for what they think it's worth. They'll wake up once they realize they aren't getting many calls. And the few who do call are hammering them hard on their price.

Try searching some new/used car dealers. You'll probably find a better price. At least they have a grip on reality.

How much does a head gasket repair cost on a 2002 Nissan Altima?

Assuming that this vehicle is the 2.4 L 4 cylinder and not the 3.5 L V6, It is 10 hrs of labor. Depending on how much the repair shop you take the car to charges per hour. Our dealership charges $99 per hour so in labor alone it will cost about $990 plus tax. As far as the actual head gasket, it will cost around $43 just for the gasket plus any other parts that need to be replaced as seen fit by the repair shop.

Should I sell my old Super Nintendo right now or wait few years to win more money ?

The Super Nintendo sold over 49 million units worldwide. That makes it a very commonly owned console. For that reason alone prices are likely to remain fairly stable for many years to come. In 10 years time the prices will likely be similar to what they are today, adjusting for inflation of course. This makes it a pretty poor investment in the long term. I wouldn't expect you to make your fortune on it, but as the SNES remains a popular system with an extensive library of quality games and a heavy nostalgia factor, it will never sell for a pittance.Of course I'd recommend you dig it out and play some games on it instead, as it remains one of the greatest consoles ever made.

If an average person used Uber all the time instead of owning a car, how much would they save or spend extra every month?

I actually did this in 2015.I ditched my car for the year and just used Uber and Lyft. From a monetary perspective, I spent about $800 per month. So, for the year, it cost me about $10,000.Now, if I was to compare that cost to owning my own vehicle, it’s almost impossible… there are too many variables. Depending on the type of car, insurance, how much I drive, repairs, parking, etc. it’s hard to get a solid number. But, I’d say that overall, the expense was in the same ballpark as owning a personal vehicle.HOWEVER, even if using Uber/Lyft was significantly more expensive, there were surprising upsides that I did not expect.Off the top of my head, here is what I noticed the most:It’s amazing how much work you can get done when you are not concentrating on driving. Even if it’s just sitting quietly and thinking to yourself… it’s nice to not have to worry about driving.Parking is a nightmare… and I didn’t realize it until I didn’t have to deal with it. Getting dropped off and picked up in any location you want is a totally different experience when you don’t have to worry about where to put your vehicle.I ended up walking a lot more. When you have a car, you can get pretty lazy. There are a lot of expenses that come with a car that I didn’t think about. So, even though I spent about $800 per month for the Uber/Lyft option, there were many things I wasn’t paying for that I normally would with my own car. Little things like parking, changing oil, putting on new wiper blades, getting a car wash, etc., etc. Now, I say all of this as a ‘car guy.’ I love driving. I’ve owned all kinds of cars and I enjoy working on them and going on road trips.I can probably tell you 99% of all models and makes on the road today with a couple facts about each one.The reason I mention that is because if I, as a car guy, can enjoy using transportation like Uber/Lyft… then imagine what the future will be like.I know that most people do not like cars or driving as much as I do, and those people will absolutely love using services that don’t require them to drive or own a vehicle. That’s why I think this driverless car future that is coming is going to absolutely shock people. It’s going to change our world like we can’t even imagine… and very few people see it coming.Just in case you didn’t think I was serious when I said I love driving:
