Is It A Sinus Infection

Do I have a cold, flu, or sinus infection?

Hello I have been sick for the past couple of days but today has gotten much worse. At first I just had a cough. I was coughing a lot throughout the whole day but I didn't have any other symptoms. Then the next day my body felt weak and sore. Now today I have a massive headache and my eyes hurt and are really sensitive. I am also starting to develop a runny nose. I do not know which virus these symptoms are for. Can someone tell me if I have a cold, the flu, or a sinus infection? Please and thank you so much!

How can you tell if you have a funal sinus infection?

My wife had a fungal infection in her sinuses, and the ENT didn't catch it until she lost her sight in one eye. My wife's ENT said her problem was all due to an infected tooth, nothing wrong with her sinuses. She lost half of her face because the only treatment is surgery. If your ENT won't listen, go to someone else.

Sinus infection symptoms?

The only things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

What are signs of a sinus infection?

Sinuses are the air filled cavity or sac present in the skull bone which lightens the skull. It's all lined by mucous membranes that secrete fluid and are connected to the nasal cavity by small channels or ducts. The sinuses are sometimes collectively referred to as the paranasal sinuses because of their proximity to the nose. Inflammation due to any cause (most likely due to irritation or infection) can cause a buildup of fluid and increased sinus pressure, causing the typical symptoms of a sinus headache.Signs and symptoms:-Heaviness of the head especially when you're bending forwardPost nasal drip causing Cough in the supine position or nocturnal cough.Nasal congestion or running nose.Fever and myalgia.Referred pain in the ears.Sore throat .Headache which worsens in the early morning and subsides in the evening. Some times patient even complaints of vomiting and vertigo. Mild Swelling of the maxillary and frontal regions.Chronic sinusitis even results in bronchitis and bronchial asthma. Can a sinus infection cause nausea?

Yes,sinus infection cause nausea. When the sinus tissue becomes irritated or inflamed, the cavities can fill with fluid and blockages can result. Colds, allergies can all create blockages. Sinusitis occurs when the blocked fluid becomes infected as a result of fungal, viral or bacterial colonization. The dizziness that can be caused by a sinus infection will also trigger nausea. That pressure on the inner ear from the blocked sinuses can create stomach upset. For other people with sinusitis, nausea and upset stomach symptoms can result from the infected mucus draining down the throat into the stomach

Sinus Infections. Can you lose your appetite over it and can you feel unsteady when you walk?

A sinus infection can cause loss of appetite and unsteadiness. The sinus cavities are connected to the throat and ears. The fluid can back up into the ears and thereby throw off your sense of balance. The fluid draining from the sinuses, which you may or may not feel, into the stomach can cause nausea, loss of appetite and loose stool or if severe, diarrhea. Lack of appetite can also stem from the general malaise that comes with a sinus infection~ it is good that you're doing your best to eat as your body does need fuel.
Not all sinus infections are bacterial, but if you have been prescribed antibiotics, make certain to take the full prescription. You can also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for fever or pain and mucinex (plain) to thin the secretions along with a decongestant such as sudafed (drink plenty of fluids with these) if you have no allergies if your doctor did not prescribe such adjunct therapy. Another helpful thing is to use a saline nasal spray- only saline, not one of the ones containing medication unless prescribed by your doctor. The last bit of advice is to blow, blow, blow your nose- with your mouth OPEN- keeping it closed will allow secretions to enter your ears if they meet resistance.
Wishing you well!

Can a sinus infection cause fever and chills?

Yes sinus causes fever and chills. I used to have fever upto 105 and even beyond. Besides it used to cause unbearable pain.About 7–8 years back I started hydration dehydration cycles and since then I never experienced sinus and fever.Once I got fever of 102.6 without sinus. But within 15 hours I got complete relief from fever by dehydrating for that much period.Chronic mineral imbalance in blood leads to low metabolic rate resulting in aging and age related diseases like blood sugar, blood pressure and heart disease etc.To correct mineral imbalance do hydration dehydration cycles and to increase resting metabolic rate do walking and rest routines as detailed on my blog.Read my blog for more details and / Or watch my you tube videos at - rajinder bhalla******To increase Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) do the following******Walk for 5 minutes at easy pace within your home in the morning. After walking rest for 5–10 minutes in bed.Repeat the above 3 times in the morning, afternoon, evening and at night before sleeping. So that makes for 12 walk and rest routines or 5x12 = 60 minutes of walk for the entire period. One can do it selectively during week days and on working days only in the morning and at night. The idea about walking is that it mobilises energy and before the entire mobilised energy is spent we rest. In such a case a part of the mobilised energy becomes available for vital organs.Doing walking and rest routines takes care of aging related diseases as well.****In brief hydration dehydration cycles is as given here -****Day 1 - Drink 150–200 ml water every hour from 7 am to 6 pm. No other fluid/ liquid.Day 2,3 - Drink 150–200 ml water 3 times only during the day. Total fluid intake 450–600 ml in the day.Repeat for 2–3 weeks.Fluid overload is one of the basic reasons of low resting metabolic rate. For explanation of the above read my blog.
