Is It Bad For A Christian To Listen To Black Metal

Can Christians listen to Black Metal?

Put it this way...does what you listen to affect the way you think? When you listen to it, and someone knowing you're a Christian witnesses you listening to it, does it give them Christlike thoughts about Christianity? Is it a good way for you to witness to others that you are a lover of God and that He has done so much for you?

Does listening to Black Metal, make me a bad Christian?

I love black metal (the grimness, darkness, coldness, evilness, ambient sound)

Does listening to it make me a bad Christian? I don't feel like it does, but am asking for your opinion.

I'm a Christian and I fudging love black metal!!!

Can a Christian listen to black metal?

Its not bad. When I considered myself Catholic, (I'm nothing now), I listened to those type of bands. Besides Burzum. Thinks that Nazi ****. Either or, I listen to a lot of those bands. But if the Satanism bothers you, look up White Metal. Its black metal but with Christian lyrics. There is a band called Demon Hunter. They're really good. Go to Youtube and search Demon Hunter-Someone to Hate.

Can Christians listen to black metal such as Cradle of Filth?

of course!
I believe anyone of any background can listen to any band, given they don't let the music influence them in any negative ways (although then it'd just be by fault of the listener rather than the band for believing certain negative phrases/ideologies or mindsets that may be portrayed by certain bands); it's a matter of one's willpower + strength in personal beliefs against whatever references in music that may claim opposite to your beliefs.

for instance, I may be Christian but I've listened to + enjoyed some songs that happen to have very harsh, negative, possibly evil-influenced lyrics, but I don't let it get to me cuz I know it's just from the band's perspectives + I don't take it so seriously -- rather, I care more about just how something sounds, not always for what the songs are about. that may also be cuz I'm just not heavily religious, so it doesn't offend me to hear crude things (although I generally dislike harsh language cuz I don't see the necessity of it, but sometimes in music if I hear a swear word or harsh language, only to an extent can I tolerate such). but that's just me.

Is it 'ok' to like black metal if I'm a christian?

I'm a christian, Lutheran to be exact (if that matters).
I like to listen to black metal. Bands would include:

-Behemoth
-Deicide
-Dimmu Borgir
-Vital Remains

Now here's the question.. Is it 'ok' to like these bands if I'm a christian?

I like the music because of the beat, the sound, whatever you want to call it, but I don't believe their belief's, etc. They have anti-christian lyrics and whatnot and have the pentagram, inverted cross, and anything else satanic on their albums and/or music videos. Does this make me a horrible christian or what?

I am a Christian teen and I listen to black metal. I need to stop, any advice?

What, listening to Black Metal of being Christian :รพ ?Now, I'm being unserious here for sure. You have been raised as a christian, but you appreciate Black Metal and this conflict with your religious identity. This must suck big time I imagine. However, I will not help you "quit" Black Metal. Why? Well, because, for once, I'm not a christian, so I can't really relate to the dilemmas you're experiencing now and also because Black Metal is very much a key part of my identity. I value this art, worldview, music, atmosphere and all the side-thingies that go along with it very highly and I won't be the one telling you it's bad/ dangerous/ sinful, that's for sure. That said, I'd think you have several options in front of you:Quit it and go back to listening jaweh-approved (or rather church-approved) music and get groovy:Quit and listen to christian Black Metal (even though many christian don't think the very form of the music is even acceptable):Make up your mind and come to the conclusion that listening to satanic/ anti-christian/ pagan Black metal is no big deal, even for a christian (but you'll have to deal with the obvious contradictions of such a choice):Out of respect I won't consider the possibility of discarding christianity altogether and/ or becoming a satanist/ pagan, but if you like the music you'll have to accept that its message will get to you and influence you in one way or another, hence possibly making you reconsider certain aspects of your faith/ worldview/ ideology. In any cases, good luck. This is about everything I can do for you lad. Ask again if you have other questions.

Is it bad if a Christian is listening to Black Metal(satanic)?

This one is easy. Just like in math there are formulas to answer hard problems, there are principles in Christianity to answer our hard questions no matter the circumstance. Give these verses a try.

"For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may know good from evil; and the way to judge is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as the daylight is from the dark night.

For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.

But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him."

I was agnostic and was trying to being Christian for a while as well. If you really do have gratitude for what Christ went through and want to show your gratitude then things that don't show respect to the God you love will start to offend you. That's how it worked for me. The more I appreciated Christ's Atonement, the more it seemed like anything that wasn't respecting him, the more it seemed like it was taking a personal jab at me or, my family, etc.

Is it bad that I'm Christian and listen to ghost bc?

Ghost are ace, if you like them you'll love Dimmu Borgir!
But why should the music you enjoy affect your spiritual life, people say that it's bad to listen to Marilyn Manson but there's nothing wrong with the guy, plus his music is awesome!
