Is It Bad That I Like Being Rich

What's it like being rich?

I have no clue but i wish i was born into a rich family. Lol our vacations are going freaking camping, the worst time ever, and my mom doesn't take me to a doctor unless i'm on the verge of death. haha i wish so bad i was rich

What is it like to be rich? ?

I went to a store in New York city and saw a skirt that cost $900. What could make a simple skirt worth that much money. Why would anyone spend that much money on a skirt. How does it feel to spend that much money on a skirt?

Is being rich bad according to Bible?

No. Why would God give us blessings, and then reprimand us for having them?As long as wealth was gained honestly, being rich is not bad. A lot of people are confused because they are told that the Bible says, “money is the root of all evil.” While the Bible does say that, the complete sentence states, “The love of money is the root of all evil.”Big difference, eh?Jesus also stated that it is easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get to Heaven (or something along those lines). With God, all things are possible, so a camel through the eye of a needle is probably no more difficult than walking on water. If that rich person loves his money more than he loves Jesus, then he could, indeed, have a problem to solve later.Solomon was not only the wisest person to ever walk the Earth, but also one of the wealthiest. I’m pretty sure he got into heaven. Many of the early prophets were quite wealthy, as God blessed them for following His Word. So again, being rich won’t keep you out of Heaven, and being rich, in and of itself, is not bad. Just don’t steal from others to get rich.

How does it feel to be rich?

i dated a rich girl once. and from what i saw her life, and that of her family, was literally a living hell. the mom was a depressed alcoholic, the father was severley obese and spent so many hours running his company that he really didnt care about his drunk wife...the mother was unable to raise the 5 children so the older one was forced to care for the family. 3 of the 5 children suffer from depression, 1 child is schizophrenic, and the other moved 2500 miles away to get away from the madness. the father has been cheating on the mother for 10 years and she knew about it but because she was a drunk with no way to make money she put up with it. last i heard they are finally getting a divorce which has totally divided the family and now the girl i used to date has turned into an alcoholic just like the mother. they all have cars they dont pay for, all the newest electronics, they dont have to worry about any finances ever, no worries about health insurance...they literally have no financial concerns. they take lavish vacations whenever they want and can eat at any restaurant whenever they want.
being that i dont come from money yet was able to experience it for a bit with that girl i can tell you that everybody, poor or rich, has their own problems. the grass really is always greener. from what ive seen from that family and other rich families is that regardless of how much money you make that has absolutely nothing to do with how you feel when you wake up in the morning or how easily you fall asleep at night. being rich has pros and cons....and being poor has is pros and cons.

it's all the same..

Is it bad to want badly to be rich and powerful? I'm 20 and I would rather die than having a normal life like the people I know and most of us at 40

It is not bad. It is just a mistake, which you will find out and regret about it if you would go down that route. What do people want? Fame? Power? Love? Fortune? Ultimately it is happiness that people want. Fame/power/love/fortune, etc are just the means they thought would bring them that happiness/fulfillment/contentment. Most of the time they are swayed by the memes, of what society tells them would bring them happiness. But reality could be very different. For instance, it is very clear that a lot of money does NOT buy people happiness. Yes, if you were very poor and have to worry about your next meal, some money to buy that meal will certainly buy you some happiness. But study shows that if you make a bit above average salary, one more cent won't buy you any more happiness. As a matter of fact, if you make average salary, you are pretty much as happy as can be:Study: Money Does Buy Happiness - To a Point So how about power? If you would talk to old people who had attained so-called power in their lives, most of them would tell you that it is not worth it. They often regret spending wasting time pursuing power, and not enough time pursuing what's really worthwhile, such as time with kids and family, or on their hobby or real passion. So what makes people truly happy and their lives worthwhile? It is all within, and has nothing to do with money or power. What is it like to be a rich teenager?

I'd be interested to know what life is like for teens with rich parents? Do you live it giant mansions and have 30 cars? Do you attend private school? Where do you live (city)? What type of car do you drive to school? Basically whats your routine and life like?

Why don't I care about being rich?

You don't care about being rich because you know that money doesn't buy happiness. You may have seen how money or fame changes people and not always for the better. Some people put too much value on the size of their house the cost of their car and forget that people have emotions and values.

Having enough money to be comfortable, food, decent home, reliable car and a night out once in a while or enough to fund a hobby means far more than the amount your portfolio is worth.

I know so many women that would love to be home with their kids but have to pay day care and work 40+ hrs a week along with their husbands to just pay the mortgage on their McMansions to keep up with the others who do the same thing. What are they sacrificing? Balance.

I work part time in my field from home, hubby and I like me home to care for the house, kids and each other. We have a comfortable home and it is only 2500 square feet with a great yard with privacy. His car is 6 yrs old and mine is 8. We will be replacing mine in the next year or so and it will meet our needs and I don't care what anyone thinks of it. It isn't important. I would rather have the money to give my kids a great Christmas and have the time to do activities with them than a ridiculous payment every month.

You have values and that is a rare thing now. Stay who you are and enjoy your life!
