What to eat before a basketball game? R energy drinks good before I play?

Energy drinks are bad to drink before a basketball game because it's just a quick energy burst. It's a quick sugar rush.

However, that still doesn't stop professional athletes from drinking it.

Do you drink an energy drink before a basketball game?

No, I don't drink any type of energy drink before a game. One time I did that and I got pretty weak and slow on the court, because I was starting to crash. I've also did 5 hour energy before, but then again I got pretty slow and had a weird shot.

Really, I try to do whatever to get some good energy by eating right if I know I have a game, and if I do drink any type of energy drink it's a lot earlier then the game.

Although my favorite energy drinks are Amp and Monster. I love the blue and red flavored Amp.

Drinking before games?

Red Bull is effective because it has a TON of sugar and chemicals in it which act like sugar. You can get a much healthier alternative by drinking a fruit smoothie, especially with lots of oranges and apples, and eating some pasta with your smoothie about an hour or two before your game starts.
Then, if you want, drink about half a can of Red Bull before your game. It should have a nearly equal, if not better, effect while being a lot healthier for you.
Also be sure to drink lots and lots of water. Save the gatorade until after the game

BQ Exactly what you read above. Got into tier II juniors with that

Should i drink redbull before soccer tryouts?

I wouldn't go with red bull. You need to keep in mins that Caffeine is a drug and it causes some stress on your heart.

That being said, I had a buddy who would sip on diet mountain dew for about 1.5hrs before a game or practice. But you need to stop drinking it 30min before. Not only will it not affect you but you want to be able to pass the liquid but still get the stimulants in your system.

Make sure you also drink about two bottles of water before the tryout and bring a handful of bland crackers to munch on at a break (eat like one or two). Most of all, get as much sleep as possible this evening. Nyquil and benedril (I totally spelled that wrong) help.

Is it ok to drink energy drinks before a basketball or soccer game?

Gatorade and Powerade are usually used during the game so you can gain your energy back but before a game.... Red bull and energy bars are a helpful supplement to loosen you up and get excited... Even the snickers energy bar is not a bad idea... GOOD LUCK!!!

What do NBA players eat and drink before a game?

Pre-game nutrition varies for different athletes in the NBA for the simple fact that all their bodies are different and they react to different foods differently. We can, however, find a common methodology for all their pre-game nutritional needs.NBA games are very physically demanding and as thus require a lot of energy. This means that in the lead up to a game, athletes have to ensure that come game time, their bodies have enough fuel to sustain a high level of performance all through. One of the best ways to do this would be to load on carbohydrates. This includes anything from rice and pasta to bread and a lot of fruit. Carbohydrates are the quickest and most efficient source of energy within the body. Eating foods rich in carbohydrates prior to competition would enable the body to completely restock its carbohydrate stores in preparation for the upcoming game.Another thing that happens during games is that the players’ bodies lose a lot of water and electrolytes. Players therefore endeavor to keep their bodies super hydrated in the lead up to a game. They do this by consuming a lot of water, juices and sports drinks.Water and electrolytes are important during competition because water makes up a large percentage of your blood and some minerals and salts are required by the body for cellular and muscular function during intense activities. These are usually lost via sweat in order to keep you cool. It is thus very important to start at an already high level of dehydration so that as the game progresses you don’t experience the performance-reducing effects of dehydration as seriously. In a nutshell, pre-game nutrition is basically all about topping off your energy stores and making sure you are hydrated enough for the game.
