Is It Bad To Not Wash Hair After Going To The Beach

Should i dye my hair before i go to the beach or wait til after the trip?

im going on a trip to florida on friday and im only going to be gone a few days but i will be on the beach and in a pool a lot. i have natural strawberry blonde hair and im dying it red and ive done it once before and my hair holds color well. my hair stylist is free tonight and can get me in to color it tonight, but should i wait til after my trip? i know that red fades fast, will the ocean salt water make it fade really bad? i would love to get it done tonight because im really excited im just afraid the salt water and chlorine from the pool will make it fade faster than normal. my hair holds color suprisingly well so i dont think it will fade too bad, and i dont have to get my hair wet if i dont want to much while im there, so should i do it tonight or wait?
i really want it tonight
thanks :)
God bless XD

I dyed my hair today and tomorrow I am going to the beach. Will the beach water take out the new hair color?

Hello,

As someone who has dyed her own hair or had it dyed regularly for the past 10 years AND lives in Long Beach I can tell you this.

YES absolutely, it will affect your color.

The elements always affect our hair color, even our natural hair, and the beach can be one of the harshest places because of the sand, salt in the water, and the constant sun exposure your hair will receive.

Since you're already going to the beach, I won't tell you not to go, go an enjoy it! BUT if you can use a conditioning sealant on your hair, something thick, it will help to use it, and if you don't mind not getting your head wet, then don't submerge your hair.

If you expose yourself to the salt, water, and sun so quickly after dying your hair, you might not see the change in your hair color right away, but it will contribute to the shine and the depth of the color fading quickly.

Honestly, although it's nice to have your hair color looking fresh and pretty, unless it was a super expensive or complicated dye job, you might as well enjoy the beach because you're already there. We beach bums spend so much time in the sand and surf anyway that our hair requires special care to begin with, it's just a fact of life. And honestly it's better to enjoy your time then to hide in from the fun for the sake of your hair!

Have a great time!

Can u dye your hair after you go to the beach?

I'd shampoo my hair first to get all the salt off (without using conditioner or product). Then wait at least 24 hours after washing (Again, avoid using product). It will help the dye stay in your hair better.

EDIT: Unless you have really oily hair, then you could do it in less than 24 hours. I'd say overnight if that's the case. I know it's always exciting to dye your hair, but the dye job will look better, more even and last longer if it's done on unwashed hair.

Is it bad to not wash hair after going to the beach?

I have thick, wavy hair that's kind of dry. I shower every other day. I didn't know I was going to the beach today, so I showered right before. I got my hair soaked with salt water.
Would it be more damaging to leave the salt water in my hair until tomorrow, or wash my hair twice one day?

Thanks.

Is it okay to bleach your hair and then go to the beach the week after that?

It should be fine. The sun simply bleaches your hair more, so no worries about that. I don't suggest swimming in chlorinated water very often though, because your hair will take in the green color. Usually fresh or salt water won't do much to bleached hair, and if you use a clarifying shampoo the second or third day that you're there you should be fine. Be sure to rinse your hair with fresh water before letting it dry if the water is salt water, because it can cause some major damage.

Is salt water bad for your hair?

lucky :(
no it will grow out, and beach hair looks sexy!!!
but if you are really worried, you can always use a special shampoo/conditioner to keep it healthy.
if anything you can always use a natural hair mask or something whenever you have time to keep your hair in good condition. C:

Do you wash your hair after each time you swim?

Nope. My system is simple. Look at my picture above. I am forty-eight years old. Pretty much the same hair that I had thirty years ago with some slight thinning for age. I swim mostly in lakes now, not highly chlorinated pools like at University. If my hair gets too oily on a third day (or fourth?) shampoo and condition. Otherwise? Leave it alone for manageability. Each person male or female is obviously different. My hair has been fine but fairly manageable since I was a kid. If it gets greasy or sticking too close to my scalp? Wash and extra conditioner for the “Poof.”Hope that helps!ADR

Do i need to shampoo my hair after swimming at the beach?

I'll be going on a holiday soon where I will most likely be swimming at the beach everyday. Do i need to shampoo my hair everyday, or will just rinsing it under water do the trick? I'm a guy by the way, If that makes any difference.

Wash hair twice in one day?

Ok so I washed my hair this morning, then discovered I was going to the beach. My hair goes gross after a swim in the beach so would it badly damaged it if I washed it again?
