Is It Common For Guys To Wear White Belts

Do wearing white belts as a boy mean your gay?

Wearing white belts as a boy just means you have bad fashion sense, it has nothing to do with your sexuality nor is it any form of a secret sign.

Is it gay for men to wear white belt?

Thanks.. lots of hilarious answer... i know clothes dont make a man.. what I am asking is... whether wearing it is a signal to indicate that u r gay. (like wearing earing on your right ear... right?)

Guys wearing white belts?

So im a guy and i have seen some guys wear dark jeans with white belts and i think it looks really good. The only thing im concerned about is, i HATE white shoes. Can i wear a white belt with black shoes???

Why do golfers wear white belts?

….because other golfers wear white belts.

What does a man wear with white shoes?

I just bought some nice cream colored shoes from Aldo. I was wondering what I should wear with the white shoes. I know that dark jeans look good, but what about color top, and as far as a belt, does black work?

Can i wear a white shirt and a white belt together?

I think that wearing a belt with a top the same colour sort of beats the purpose of wearing a belt for fashion not utility but i think if you have a black top you should wear the white belt but if you are going to wear the white one, the red would look really hott coz red just does that =) and it attracts a lot of attention, especially worn with white or black shirts.

=) give it a try

How about men wearing a White Belt with White shoes?

I liked fat ties, too. At least some of my more affluent classmates thought so. That was around 1974- 75. Most of us didn't even wear ties, unless we were the Mayor or President.
Also, White belts looked good with White shoes. (When was that, maybe 1964?) :)

What color shoes should a man wear with a white belt??

I'm 28 yrs old, and going for a bit of an edgy look. I have seen pics of guys wearing a grey t-shirt w/jeans and a white belt (either cloth or leather), but unfortunately, the pics don't show what color shoes they are wearing. It is said that mens belt and shoe color must match. But it would seem a bit odd for me to wear white sneakers with this type of outfit. Any suggestions? Would black shoes, or boots be ok?

Is there such a thing as an advanced white belt?

Relative to other white-belts, of course there can be such a thing as an “advanced white-belt”. Most schools use the stripes on the belt, to a maximum of 4 stripes per belt color, so a 3 or 4 stripes white-belt can be considered an advanced white-belt.The point is that this term implies, normally, more than the relative meaning I gave in the preceding paragraph. It is used to signify a white belt with advanced BJJ skills. This thing does not exist. While it is true (mostly in the past) that a good white belt could defeat a much bigger opponent from other “non-grappling” martial art (and even street thugs) this was mostly true due to the total unfamiliarity with ground fighting permeating most martial arts and the general public. You didn’t see armlocks in movies, etc., so you (BJJer) got the surprise element on your side. Even today a good blue or purple belt is at an extremely big advantage when facing another adversary without any ground skills: fighting on the ground is NOT instinctive, it goes against intuition many times, so someone without any knowledge of ground fighting will probably loose against a good white-belt.White and blue belts are beginners in BJJ. There are great blue belts that can defeat mediocre purple (or even brown belts), but the problem lies within the skills of those purple and brown belts with rare exceptions (Rafa Mendes was a monster blue belt for example, to the point it was ridiculous to see him on the blue).I personally believe that this “title” of advanced white belt is but a vanity issue, and, as such should be avoided except when comparing white to while-belts.

How often do white belts beat higher ranking belts in sparring? If so, how?

When I was a white belt in BJJ I would often beat higher ranks, usually because of my background in Judo allowed me to use techniques and positions that they were not familiar with. After doing the same technique again it usually wouldnt work. I also noticed that the older ranked belts were easier to tap than even the less advanced younger students. In Judo, I can win against intermediate levels but at I am like a ragdoll when it comes to the black belts, I have never came close to beating a black belt in Judo despite tapping several in BJJ. The only exception is with groundwork which I win because of my size advantage and the fact that I know BJJ and they just have some basic judo groundwork.Generally in sparring most students including myself arent trying to win instead of improving technique so even if I do beat a higher belt it may because they were willing to make a mistake that resulted in them losing. In fact now that I now not to use my strength in sparring I lose far more often because I am trying to win using technique also its much safer because if I accidentally hit my opponent it wont be hard.
