Is It Easier To Become Police Officer If You Go To Military For About 4-8 Years

If you hate school(college), will you hate the military?

Ever since I was young, I've always been interested in the military. I’ve always wanted to be like the guys in the Special Forces. It’s been a fantasy of mine for forever. Obviously, that is much easier said than done and quite frankly, everyone probably has that desire at some point. As I got older I was pressed with the question of “military or college?” After much deliberation with my parents, I decided to go off to college instead. I'm currently a junior studying sociology with intent to get into Law Enforcement for a career (my school doesn't offer a criminal justice degree). However, I've hated my major ever since I declared my sophomore year, and quite honestly, school as well. At this point however, it's too late for me switch. I still have frequent thoughts about the military and am very conflicted between that and pursuing Law Enforcement afterwards. At this point I’ll more than likely finish out, but like my question asks, “If you hate school will you hate the military?” I've seen plenty of guys I went to high school with that were failures as students, do well in the military. As far as the physical and mental aspects go, I do fine in school and have around a 3.0, I played 3 sports in HS, and I now run at the collegiate level as well. I'd really just appreciate some honest feedback.

What are the height requirements to be a police officer?

There aren't any height requirements. Your size shouldn't prevent you from getting a police officer job. Regardless of size, officers should have good communication skills, they should be as physically fit as they can, they should be well trained in officer survival skills and tactics, and should know when and how to use their equipment. Getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. Do whatever you can to make yourself the best candidate that you can do. For example, consider getting a college degree if you don't have one, don't do anything illegal, maintain a good reputation, keep a good driving record, don't get bad credit, improve all of your communication skills as much as possible, and become as physically fit as you can. How well you do on written tests and during interviews can be very important when trying to get police officer jobs. Make sure to prepare for any tests and interviews. Consider local, state, and federal jobs. Best of luck!

The FBI is the lead Federal Agency for investigating terrorist threats against the United States. This responsibility includes tactical response to interdict and apprehend terrorists before they can act, and to conduct other high-risk tactical operations. Here, highly qualified and motivated FBI Special Agents volunteer to respond to challenges that are the most complex, critical, and urgent. They are a tight-knit team — highly trained, specially equipped, always prepared.
*Candidates for the position of FBI Special Agent must possess a four-year college degree and three years of professional work experience; be available for assignment anywhere in the FBI's jurisdiction; be between the ages of 23 and 36; be in excellent physical condition with the ability to pass a rigorous physical fitness test; and consent to a complete background investigation, drug test, and polygraph. HRT Operators are Special Agents first, and will have investigative and managerial career opportunities in the FBI following their HRT assignment. Idk if i said it yet but I'm working towards the Special Agent position and maybe after a couple years move into the HRT . Thanks
