Was Obama a good president?
Reality is that he's a poor president. History will look back on him with rose-colored glasses simply because he's the first black president. His only meaningful contribution is preventing another great depression...but he screwed that up by giving those who caused it a free pass to essentially do the same thing again. He's almost doubled the national depbt He's made race relations worse He's made the political divide even worse He's plowed his way through our bill of rights. Our trade deal has weakened our economic and industrial power I'm still very skeptical about his "healthcare reform" since it failed to make healthcare affordable...instead it made it more expensive for everyone else. It would be nice if they actually addressed the reasons why it was so expensive in the first place.
How do illegal immigrants get free health-care and dental care? can someone explain this to me?
So i just got done reading a short paragraph explaining the differences between an illegal and a legal person here in the united states. But what i do not understand is how a legal person has to pay for dental care and an illegal gets it for free. can someone tell me how this works? or was the man that made this short paragraph just full of BS. Here is the short paragraph i was talking about. You have two families: “Joe Legal” and “Jose Illegal”. Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California . Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted (Edit: Before Taxes). Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Numb...er, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table”. Ready? Now pay attention… Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00. Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00. Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00. Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per
Why have political parties become so polarized that they fail to address the concerns of most Americans?
Hi Sam...hope you are coming back next season! I have been blogging about this issue for many months and could not agree more that we need a true independent party system that allows all parties access to the electorate, first, in the Primaries then in the General Election. I also favor term limits for all elective office holders. Currently our system is tightly controlled by the major parties and lobbyists, making it nearly impossible for truly representative government. We need to send a message - Politicians who do not listen and do not do what is best for us will be replaced. What amazes me is the fact that polling showed that Congress was rated lower than President Bush prior to the 2006 Election. There was a shift in power because of it, yet, they still haven't gotten the message. We want performance of our wishes!
