Is It Funny Liberals Don

Why don't liberals have a sense of humor?

what passes for humor in their circles is just saying nasty things about conservatives . they wouldn't dare crack a joke about Obama because they might be excommunicated

Why don't liberals have a sense of humor?

Most Liberals I meet nowadays are always so butthurt about everything and can never just laugh anything off, they take funny jokes seriously and get mad at the jokester for being "racist", "intolerant", or "insensitive" when it's just a ****ing joke. The only person crying about it is them.

What do liberals mean when they say, "Don't punch down"? Do you agree with it?

It generally means that one should avoid criticizing a group that is more oppressed than the one that you yourself belong to. The fly in the ointment here of course is how does one define oppressed? This isn’t easy. For one, levels and types of oppression differ. Add to that problems of intersectionality, criteria for membership and political expediency and we soon have a Gordian knot to entangle. The Original Gordian Knot Source: Cutting the Gordian KnotProgressives however take a sword to this knot and use a type of logic exemplified in the hypothetical below:Create four ranking systems based on race, gender, sexual orientation and class. Supply a score for every individual from 5 to 0 based on the degree of oppression that their specific group has suffered. 5 being the least oppressed. 0 the most. This is how the rules work in a nutshell.A 0 can criticize a 1 but not the other way around as long as the criticism is within the same category. In other words heat flows up not down. However a 0 in one category cannot criticize a 3 in another category if the first individual’s score in that specific category is greater than 3.A 0 in all four categories is by definition immune to all criticism. A 5 in all four is a virtual pinata.Ignore any residual factors that can complicate the model. It’s just noise.Everyone can be classified along this ranking system. I mean everyone.Oh I forgot…you better check your individualism at the door else you can expect some of this….https://stanfordpress.typepad.co...Sounds absurd. Of course it is.This is what happens when the collectivism of group identity politics triumphs over the sovereignty of the individual. What it leads to is the soft bigotry of low expectations.racism of low expectationsHowever all is not lost, one can take solace in being above the fray plus the virtue signalling opportunities are endless. On the other hand if you want pragmatic workable solutions to tough problems don’t limit the scope of the debate. Punching up or down is a nonsense construct and should be rejected as such.Cartoon Source: Tyrant Cartoons and Comics (Cartoon 1)and Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (Cartoon 2)

What were some of the funniest liberal Quoran reactions to Trump winning the election?

The funniest reactions were from people not in the US who wanted to “punch pillows” or “scream” or who cried. They actually cried, like real tears. That’s how I knew we are not only the most powerful country in the world militarily, but we’re in everybody’s heads. In Canada, well behaved Quoranucks emerged from the vast wilderness to register their displeasure with the American election. They are closest and most directly affected. Who would protect them with the nuclear umbrella now?I envision hordes of Quranedes in Sweden flooding the streets and screaming in Swedish, which probably sounds like gibberish to me. Also, it had to be snowing over there, adding to the beauty of such a spectacle.I see the Quorinos of Mexico, taking to the streets by the tens of thousands, marching in Spanish. (That reminds me, are we having yard work done today?)I imagine legions of German Quoranazis goose-stepping through the streets of Berlin in protest of the political decisions of a people from another country. My God, do they again have aspirations over other governments and territories? But give credit where credit is due, they do understand he’s not their president!I could see middle eastern Quorafidels chanting “Death to America!” and the women trilling in scornful judgment of the American people, while keeping their rightful place underneath layers of black dress. Here’s some nice ladies telling us how many teeth they’re missing in the front. Or maybe they’re ordering falafel. In the far east, citizens mounted their trusty mopeds and took to the streets to both protest the election of a new American president and renew the smog layer. Finally, Africa. You have to hand it to Africa! They turned their political protest into a wet T-Shirt contest, without the need for any T-shirts! It’s all about boobs. So gratifying to see so many who care!

Why don't liberals understand the difference between DEFICIT and DEBT?

I asked a question a few moments ago about what the deficit was on this day back in 2008, and how it compares to what the deficit is today? Here are just a couple of the answers I received:

"It's funny how you don't even know the difference between Debt and Deficit in your political rhetoric. Accounting 101 for College Graduates." https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140402160531AA0upOK

"The debt was still increasing. Deficits come from Tax Revenues - Government Spending if the difference is negative." https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140402160531AA0upOK

How is possible to ask a question about the DEFICIT without making any mention of the national debt, and liberals/progressives STILL bring up the debt and get all confused? Is it any wonder we're in a financial mess when they don't even understand the questions they're answering?

Does SNL always show liberal bias?

None of the answers here really hit the nail on the head. SNL shows a liberal bias because that is where literally all of the writers come from. Same problem that newspapers and broadcast journalism have, with the major difference that SNL is by definition commentary.. rather than “straight news”. Hence, despite their (usually) best efforts to play it down the middle, the liberal bias does usually show through. So why are all of the writers on the left? Some of it has to do with their age (ever hear the expression that a conservative at 20 has no heart, but a liberal at 30 has no brain?). This is demonstrated by the slow evolution of Dennis Miller. More of it though simply has to do with the Artsy culture in NYC, Toronto, Chicago, and LA, where most of the talent comes from. There are, and have been outstanding writers and cast on SNL. Usually they conscientiously try to be equal-opportunity ball-busters. I think they understand that by skewering only Republicans, they are ignoring half (maybe 75%) of the comedy! They have in the past done a great job of satirizing Al Gore, Ted Kennedy, Michael Dukakis (one of their best skits ever is “Dukakis after Dark” on the Mathew Modine hosted episode), and of course Bill Clinton. This year, they kind of went a little nuts, with the parodies of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders coming across as good-natured ribbing about their foibles and characteristics.. while the Trump pieces came across as nasty and mean-spirited. This was NOT the case during the primary season, before he had won the nomination. Hopefully, the writers wake up from their hysteria and go back to what they normally do. They need to remember that they are playing to a nationwide audience.. not just the writers’ room.I have been an SNL fan since the ‘80s. Kevin Nealon, Victoria Jackson, Nora Dunn, Dennis Miller, Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Jan Hooks, Dana Carvey, were the group that got me hooked. I have watched pretty regularly since then, through the good and the bad. I am also a Reagan Conservative. As long as the writing is good, the acting is right on, and there is at least an effort to be fair, I will continue to watch as long as it’s on.
