Is It Halal To Give Catnip To A Cat

Is Whiskas cat food good for my cats?

There's 2 parts to this.On the one side, cats are true carnivores, and as such, in the wild they eat meat, fowl and fish, and that's about it. Given that most dry cat foods (including whiskas) list grain as their main ingredient, you might wonder. However, I can't find (and that may just be me of course) no actual research detailing the pro's and cons of generic cat food vs raw meat, only anecdotal evidence and sponsored articles from cat food producers. Thus, the only actual *evidence* are the milions and millions of housecats all over the world that thrive pretty darn well on dry food, and have done so for decades of not a century by now.So there's part 1, suggesting that yes, dry cat food is perfectly fine. Then there's part 2, your specific question regarding Whiskas. About 2 years ago, a Dutch consumer organisation tested a score of common catfood brands, whiskas among them -and concluded that the differences were negligible, and you might as well buy the cheapest stuff around, which Whiskas is not.Now my own cats feel otherwise, and while they prefer the cheap stuff to starving, it quickly became clear they liked it as much as we humans like stale bread (they were used to Hills Science before the switch). So we tried several other brands, discovered that across the board any fish varieties are considdered awfull, but eventually found something they DO like: Whiskas beef and Whiskas chicken :PSo, can you feed your cats whiskas and expect them to live a long, active and happy live? Evidence suggests Yes.Can you feed them just about any other brand just as well? Probably, assuming you live in or near the Netherlands or can get the kind of catfood generally sold here. Your cats may or may not like it.Would it be *better* for your cats to feed them raw meat? While gut feeling says definitely Yes, there seems to be no actual research confirming this, although there's plenty of anecdotal evidence, especially with cats having some sort of health problem. But again, there's also milions of perfectly healthy cats living on dry food only despite the grain and other non-meat ingredients.

Is it halal to give catnip to a cat?

From what I understand, animals aren't the ones being tested by Allah. At least, not in a manner we as humans could relate to. Even if we go by human rules, catnip would probably remain permissible as it brings no harm to the person or animal consuming it.

Why is my cat so obsessed with Wrigley's Doublemint chewing gum wrappers?

Whenever I leave out a wrapper from Wrigley's Doublemint gum, my cat (a cross between a calico/tortoise shell, about 6 years old) obsessively tries to find it by smell and then tries to lick it. I stop her whenever I catch her but I've seen her licking the wrappers before I can get to her.

Is this unhealthy for her? Is there some ingredient in the gum that cats are attracted to? Has this ever happened before? Should I be concerned??

Is it dangerous for cats to eat Cheetos puffs?

Cats can’t have dairy or any spice as it upsets their stomach and other organs. If they eat some human food or snack by accident, make sure it’s a one time thing and prevent it from happening again. If you find a cat or dog somehow dined in on a whole Italian or spicy Mexican dish, then they need to go to the vet for observation.Cats are obligate carnivores. They have to eat only meat. It’s why a premium wet food is healthier than premium dry food. Wolves have to eat only meat too but dogs are so domesticated through genes that they can eat a complete balance of grains and meat. Cats are domesticated but haven’t been genetically altered as much. The cat food has vegetables and wheat blended in them so they can be eaten with the meat without notice. Carnivores eat their prey and get the green nutrition they need through the prey digesting the grass they eat for the carnivore. The carnivore never needs to eat the grass directly. Once in a while you’ll see wolves eat berries and deer eat dead crowd but they don’t need have these things in order to survive

What are some ways of getting a cat high?

Give them catnip. Anything else is cruel unless they are suffering and you have talked with your vet about different types of pain management.
