Is It Healthy For Your Eyes To Get Some Air Outside

Air optix inversion indicator...which side should the "OK" read properly?

I haven't seen any material on the OK on Air Optix. However, I got some stuff the other day on Focus One Day Toric from the same manufacturer. It showed the OK reading correctly from the inside. In the past Fresh Looks from Ciba have read correctly from the inside and all other products including Air Optix have read correctly from the outside. I was under the impression that the deal with Fresh Looks was because they were designed so long ago and the whole industry was going to reading correctly from the outside. Now I am not so sure. I guess it will be like which side of the car you fill gas in.

Is it ok to take my snake outside everyday for like 30 minutes to get some uv?

A large amount of snakes in nature either A)Hide during the day even if they arent nocturnal(ie burrowing) or B) are nocturnal hunters. So even in nature the majority of snakes dont get direct sunlight.

So them common thought is they do not require UV.

Also the common thought is that snakes, which consume their entire prey, get all the vitimans they need from their food, negating any benefits they may get from UV. Most honest breeders (not including petshops) dont even encourage giving snake supplements because once again they get all they need from their prey.

But on the flipside Ive never heard of direct sunlight doing damage to a snake (In moderation of course). As long as its in a controlled and clean environment I see little or no harm possible.

Someone mentioned above Alibinosim and sunlight..thats a great line of thought and never crossed my mind. I would be curious of the answer.

So I was using a can of compressed air to blow some dust out of my computer, etc and I accidently got myself in the eye. I flushed my eye out with water and it feels fine. But should I be worried?

Should i have my hamster get some fresh air outside?

i love taking my rats outside to play in the grass. don't leave them and try to put them in a large grassy area so you can catch them if need be. look out for other animals and birds :p also, on days when you can't let them out and they might be too warm, you can put a frozen water bottle inside their cage. have fun!

What happens to the dust and sand that gets in your eyes?

There is no way that an external particle, unless it struck the eyeball at great speed AND it would probably also need to be pointed or sharp (like a sliver of wood or steel), would penetrate the wall of the eye (cornea, or conjunctiva+sclera) and get “into” the eye.As one answerer noted, the stuff that gets “in” our eyes is just on the surface, and is washed off by tear flow and blinking. 99.9% of the stuff that gets “into our eyes” - sand, wind particles, dust, pollen, bacteria, insects, dirt, ash in smoke, fungi, stuff on our eyelashes, mascara on women (or men, … “not that there's anything wrong with that”), is washed out of the eye by tears, ocular mucous production, and the blink reflex.Rarely, rarely, a particle will “imbed” itself into the corneal surface or conjunctival surface (often on the conjunctiva on the inner surface of the upper lid- the palpebral conjunctiva. Those particles can cause a lot of irritation, and potentially scratch the cornea (corneal abrasion) or cause infection. The “stuff” floating around inside our eyes? Those are vitreous floaters. They are clumps of proteinaceous materials that have condensed within the vitreous gel. Occasionally they are something called “asteroid hyalosis”, calcified soaps (calcium-lipid complexes) form in the vitreous. Rarely, again very rarely, floaters can be made up of more serious stuff, but that's a topic for a whole different long post. You had better hope that the stuff that the “dust and sand that gets into our eyes” is not getting inside your eye and floating around. That would not be a good thing. Also what's with the getting stuff in your eye “by deliberacy”? Why would anyone want to do that?

Do air conditioners help clean up indoor air pollution?

Air-conditioning systems might work excellent in keeping your home cool but fails to make your home pollutant-free. There are air-conditioners with Hepa filter or air purifiers but contains a potential health risk. Here are few facts associated with health risks with air-conditioners.• An uncleaned air-conditioner circulates more allergens in the air that you breathe indoor while adding to your illness.• An air-conditioner accumulates mold as it contains moisture, if left uncleaned then it might trigger serious COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder) for your family members.• Air-conditioners clean various indoor allergens, dust, and pollen from the air that you breathe. The cooling system pulls theses allergen inside and can again recirculate within no time.• The refrigerant gas leak from your air-conditioner can lead to creating toxic vapours while poising the air that you breathe indoor.• An air-borne disease such as Legionairre’s disease causes fatal infectious disease that produces high fever and pneumonia. Air-conditioners are associated to spread such infectious diseases.• The PM 2.5 is smaller particulate matters that go unnoticed by naked eyes. The air filters in an air-conditioner are inefficient to clean these smallest matters from the indoor air. This results in chronic asthma attacks, bronchitis and other breathing problems. Therefore, it is always safe and advisable to invest in an air purifier to clean the indoor air pollutants.
