Is It Illegal For The County To Put Your Mugshot Up Before Your Court Date

I had my record sealed, but Mugshots.com still has my mugshot and I want it removed. What can I do?

Fuck Mugshots .com!Here’s what you can do…Instead of spending your hard earned cash paying them to remove your photo. Or hours trying to get your records expunged. Just water them down. It’s simple. Nobody goes past the 3rd page of Google results. Google shows the most relevant content at the top for the search that’s submitted. If mugshots .com or any other site is the top result for your name search, then you need to improve your online presence.Get your name (as people or employers would search it) on as many high ranking sites you can. Here’s an example of a close friend of mine, who was arrested for a simple traffic violation a few years ago.Enkose Plummer.Page 1Page 2Page 3Notice how his mugshot pictures are all the way on page 3. Page 4 would probably be the safest, but he’s getting there. This is because his name is all over high quality sites. Such as youtube, soundcloud, linkedIn, Pinterest, Vimeo, Medium, etc.Sign up for the sites that will always rank over sketchy mugshot sites. And it shouldn’t take long to water them down to the point of oblivion…RESULT PAGE 4.Don’t pay them money. Out play them. Play the system. Or better yet, the algorithim. And one day, they’ll dwindle out of business.Hope this helps. If so, follow my quora below for more of my answers like this!P.S.- Hope you don’t mind Enkose. It’s to help the victims of shady mugshot scams.

Is it legal for Mugshots.com to post your mugshot online before you go to court for the crime, and to then charge a fee to remove it?

No. They don't. All public records are managed by formal policy and procedure. Most people (including attorneys) don't know what a "public record" is or what it means. It's much simpler than people realize.NONE of the arrest records being published by Mugshots.com were obtained through legitimate records requests.ALL of the arrest records on Mugshots.com were purloined. Stolen from government sources.NO public record can be "monetized" or offered for sale.Law enforcement agencies all over the United States have taken action to STOP Mugshots.com's illicit procurement and commercialization of their police records. The removal industry owners are the same individuals as the mugshot sites. The same business. It's not possible to alter materials and content without administrative access to a website. It's not legally possible to alter content of a website without permission of the owner.Nothing is actually removed from anything. These are big huge automated databases that run 24/7. The mugshot operators change a link to the piece, making it disappear from view on search engines. But it's still there. They do not delete anything. The exact relationship isn't clearly known, but it seems that they have entry to law enforcement databases built by government contractors. Vendors. Government records are NOT deleted. That would be a federal crime, tampering with federal files. Mugshots.com does not have any legal right to do this.

I Missed My Court Date... Today?

I was pulled over with a suspended license. Now the cop gave me a huge break by only giving me a ticket with no fine and let me go. I obviously went to go set the court date and it was for today. I was supposed to be there at 8:30 but I overslept and didn't get there until 10:30. I waited in line for like an hour only for her to tell me had I have gone directly to the court room I could have made it. She told me there isn't anything else I can do.

Now is it possible to get this rescheduled some how? She said a warrant would be out in five days. If turning myself in is the only way, I will but what will the whole process be like and will it still be possible to walk off with a misdemeanor?

The most important thing is at the end of the day I only care about how this will effect me when I try to get in the Navy.

Can I leave the state before my court date?

I have a court date coming up for a class B misdemeanor. I have no intention of missing it. However, I have had a trip planned long before I got charged. Can I still leave for this trip, going out of state, and come back for the court date? Also, are the reasons for leaving the state important in getting permission from the court? It may be just a vacation, but I have had it planned a long while and it means a great deal to me.

Thank you so much to anyone who can help!!!

How do you locate an inmate of the US Marshals?

When you are in US Marshal's custody, there are several locations and/or categories groupings that you can fall into.  First things first. The fact that you are dealing with the US Marshals means that there is something "Federal" going on. Either you are being charged (Indictment or Bill of Information have been presented), are a person of interest (Target Letter), or have been convicted of a Federal charge. Washington, DC is the only place in the Continental United States where the U.S Marshals are handling you as an inmate and you have not necessarily been involved or convicted of a Federal charge, (meaning that you have either plead guilty or have been found guilty by trial). In the District of Columbia, whether Superior Court or District Court defendant, all transportation and logistics of inmates are handled by the U.S. Marshals.   Now, if you are being charged with a Federal Charge, and you have been remanded (NO BOND, or REVOKED BOND) before you have been found guilty of said Federal charge, your location will most likely be a County Jail ( in the region that the charge originated) until your case is settled.  In that circumstance, there is a 99% chance you will not show up in the Federal Bureau of Prisons website database. You must check that County Jail's inmate system. Even though you are located in that County's Jail, you are technically property of the U.S. Marshals; consequently, until you are convicted, of which that point you will become property of the BOPIn our professional experience, when you are considered a 'high risk' Federal defendant (high-profile, flight risk, etc), or have the "luck of the draw" and are being remanded in a city where there is a Federal Detention Facility, you will reside there until you are either set free, or found guilty and processed into the system. Last but not least, if you have been found guilty of a Federal Charge, whether you are remanded and are sitting in a facility, or you are a "self report",  it will take time for your information to show up in the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. Once the defandant is issued an BOP #, it usually takes 1-3 weeks for it to show up. The inmate is usaully already in custody by this point, as it is a security risk for anyone to know where an inmate is headed before he or she arrives.....For obvious reasons of course.

I was wrongly arrested... need advice for my court date?

Okay I just posted this awhile ago but I apparently didn't post enough details.

Here are all the details I can think of:

1. My brother got pissed at me b/c I was using his computer in his room and he wanted me to get off (we live in the same house). We are both over 18.

2. He left the room and then came back in and grabbed me and pulled me onto the bed and put me in a choke hold and was hitting me. To get out of the choke hold I punched him in the face and hit him elsewhere a few times.

3. I ran out of the room and called the cops b/c I have been trained in my job to call the cops whenever something illegal happens. I just sort of did it without thinking.

4. Cops came and they questioned me then questioned my brother in another room. I didn't hear what my brother told them but I suspect he lied.

5. Cops arrested ME for "assault on a family member resulting in bodily injury". I didn't see the injury but I suspect it was a black eye because I had to punch him in the face to get out of the choke hold.

6. I went to jail and posted bail, now I am waiting for my court date. I can't afford a lawyer so I told the judge who set my bail that I will be needing a court appointed lawyer.

7. I need advice on what to do or say. My brother said he is not pressing charges, but I don't know what that means for me exactly.

8. The cop arresting me was a nice guy and said that in his opinion neither of us should be arrested, but that the law required him to arrest one of us since it was a domestic violence case, or something like that.

9. I feel I was wrongly arrested since my brother hit me first and I only defended myself. Also I don't feel I was "trespassing" in his room because we both live in the same house, which is owned by my parents and not by either of us.

10. If it means anything, the cop never read me my rights when he arrested me.

What exactly happens at my court hearing? What advice do you have for me?

What would happen if you are a minor and miss a court date?

Both previous answers are wrong. If you miss your court date, you have a warrant for your arrest and will be placed in a juvenile detention center if caught.

What does strike court date mean?

Somebody please help!! Kinda exsplain to me whats happening with her. I dnt understand all the legal slang lol thanks in advance

Can you look at the pic and tell me what her conviction means? It says previous conviction what does that mean? Also is her bail 10% of 5000 ?

Whats the illions state law on retail theft? I know this is her 2nd or 3rd time getting caugh! Do you think she will be in jail awhile?

Do you have to take out your piercings if you're going to jail?

It would be better if you take all of your piercings out your self before you are sent to jail, so that you can leave them at home. There will be less of a chance that they will end up getting lost if you keep them at home. Also, if you don't remove them, they are going to have you take out each piercing for them when you get to jail.

What ever you do, do not tell them that any of them will not or can be removed due to being welded shut. The reason I'm telling you this is because if you say that they don't come out, then they will have the medical department cut them off of you. It can hurt to have them cut off.

They do not want you wearing any type of piercings while being in jail, since it's a safety issue for you. If some one were to get into a fight with you they don't want either your ear lobes to be ripped or nose to become ripped open due to some one grabbing on to them and yanking your ears or nose open.

I hope that this helps answer your question. I wish you all the best.

BTW: People when they are locked up will put any thing else that they can in their piercings to keep their piercings open while they are locked up. It still isn't really safe for them to be doing that since there is still a safety issue with doing that.

AS I STATED At THE INSTITUTION WHERE I WORKED they would cut off any permenantly glued or soldered type of piercings that people had, since they were a safety issue for the person that was being locked up. If a person is only going to be there for a short stay, there is not reason to put your self in harms way while there. There is no reason to end up having to have your ear lobes sewn back together due to them being ripped apart. I've seen it happen, not cute!
