Is It Illegal To Pose As A City Employee

Is it illegal to own a police badge if you aren't a cop?

Like many other tangible objects, the legality surrounding ownership it comes down to intent.

This is a general guideline surrounding the ownership of the badge in question, I highly recommend you check with your local state and city laws surrounding this question. Certain laws have a tendency to vary from state to state or even town to town.

It is illegal to own a genuine or counterfeit police officer's badge if your intent is to display it in such a manner that it would allow a reasonable person to believe that the owner is in a position of authority where in fact he or she is not.

It is legal to own such a badge if your intent is to display it in a collection of exhibit, for decorative purposes, for dramatic presentation (theater or film), or recreational purposes.

It is illegal to own a badge if you the individual know yourself not to be allowed to own such an object.

A genuine police badge is a badge issued by competent police authority to an individual for purposes of identifying that individual as a LEO with police authority.

A counterfeit badge is one that would deceive a reasonable individual into being that it was an authentic badge.

Again, just a guide. But, it still recommended that you check with your local laws.

Hope it helps! Good luck!

What exactly is a sanctuary city? Is illegal immigration essentially a federal crime by any definition and an illegal act?

The term sanctuary city is used to describe cities that do not go out of their way to spend their resources to do the federal government’s job rounding up undocumented persons in the U.S.There is no actual sanctuary involved, and the cities do not do anything to protect anyone from immigration services. If federal agents find you, in any city or state, they can arrest you and prosecute you. So the term is a misnomer anyways; don’t let it fool you.Basically, illegal entry and presence in the US is a federal crime, not a state crime. So no city or state can arrest you for being an illegal alien or anything like that. Only the federal government can. However, the city or state can arrest you for other crimes and misdemeanors, which are under their jurisdiction. When that happens, the federal government requests that the arresting agency check an arrested person’s immigration status, and if they are illegally in the U.S., to hold that person until federal authorities can take the person, even after that person makes bail or serves their local sentence. That investigation costs the city money, and holding a prisoner in jail costs the city money. The federal government does not reimburse cities for these costs. So basically, a “sanctuary city”’s leaders see a win-win: Its population isn’t frothing at the mouth to prosecute victimless crimes of immigration, and nobody is fond of using local taxpayer dollars for something that federal taxes should be taking care of.

If you found out that your best employee smoked marijuana on his or her free time, would you fire that employee? Let’s say that you lived in a country where marijuana is illegal. Also, it would dramatically impact the company to lose such a person.

“If you found out that your best employee smoked marijuana on his or her free time, would you fire that employee?” [Let’s say that you lived in a country where marijuana is illegal and discovered that your top performing employee had that drug in his or her system. Also, it would dramatically impact the company to lose such a person. Would you say that the best decision is to fire that person? Why or why not?]My Problem. As an employer, you cannot allow illegal activities on your work floor, so I’d fire any employee engaging in illegal activities. Alcohol and drug use at work cannot be tolerated, and not just because someone’s performance might be linked negatively to the alcohol or drug, but also because an employer is bound to make sure that employees comply to the rules covered by the company insurance. Many insurance companies refuse claims when the employee had caused damage or injury while under the influence.Which is something you have no knowledge about, because whatever an employee does in his free time is their business. You attend everyone on being alcohol and drug free on the work floor, so that if an employee turns out to be under the influence, that’s on their head. And here’s my problem. I live in The Netherlands, where cannabis use is not illegal and I have a prescription from my ophthalmologist to use pharmaceutical cannabis as medication for my therapy resistant glaucoma. I’ve been denied further disability benefits because the government decided that I can still work. Except that I can’t, beccause I cannot hid my cannabis use from my employer. And even if my particular use does not affect my judgment, I’d be uninsured as an employee ‘under the influence of a narcotic drug’. So I can only imagine how they’d respond to a claim where the employee was under the influence of an illegal drug.

Is it illegal to hire a private stripper?

I know prostitution is illegal. I know that strip clubs are legal and the legality varies by city and state in the U.S. But what about hiring a girl to strip for you privately, is that illegal? Photographers and artists often hire people to pose nude, which seems to be legal. If I just wanted a girl to dance nude for me, is that legal or not? Someone please explain because if it is illegal I won't do it and will stick to the strip clubs. lol.

Illegal to wear "Police Officer" clothing in public?

it is illegal to wear a police officers uniform. it's against the law to impersonate a police officer. the uniforms people wear on Halloween are not the exact same thing as the real official uniforms so they can get by and wear it, because people know what the real one looks like and on the costume, there's no real badge or stuff that the real officer has like the name of the city, logo, colors gadgets....

Is it illegal to call your competitor and pretend to be a customer in order to obtain information?

No. Not even a little bit illegal. We once had a competitor who opened up a store in our city. The problem was that competitor was not allowed to sell the same brand of piano we sold. We had an exclusive right to sell for our city. They could sell other brands, but not the ones we sold, even though they sold the same brand as us in another city.So we started losing sales to them. People would come in and shop us, and then they would go and the competitor would say "we can get that cheaper for you." So we would do the sales education and they would just go get a better price down the road.We took this matter up with the manufacturer and they said "without hard evidence, there is nothing we can do." So I sent a couple of friends to the competitor posing as a young married couple. They told the competitor the price they "got" from our store and the competitor proceeded to sell them a unit at a lower price. We actually financed the deal and received delivery of the piano. With receipt in hand we approached the manufacturer. They paid us the difference between the cost of the piano and the price we paid, and allowed us to sell the unit as new in our store. They then went to our competitor and said if there are any more reports of stealing sales from us they would lose the franchise in all their stores, no matter what city in which they were located. It turned out, they were willing to sell below cost in the hopes of driving us out of business and taking over the franchise in our city. So call away, there's nothing illegal about it.

Is illegal immigration a major problem in Arizona? How big?

Is illegal immigration a major problem in Arizona? Not really- no better or worse than any of the lower 48 states, really. Are there illegals here? You betcha. Estimates out of Tucson (an actual Arizona city) are that nearly 100k of the children in Az public schools are, while citizens themselves on the basis of being born here, the product of at least one undocumented parent in the State. Close to 25K people have qualified for the Deferred Action for Childhood  Arrivals program (DACA). The number of illegals in Arizona has dropped by over half since 2007- mostly due to lack of jobs. The largest problem with illegals in this State isn't those who come and try to blend in, raise a family, work hard and get ahead, it's those who are coerced by drug gangs, taken advantage of by coyotes, screwed-over by employers who are more than willing to hire under the table, and just as willing to encourage unsafe working conditions. Look, I live not two miles from The Fence. I'm about 8 miles as the crow flies from the Naco crossing. I live on acreage, lots of land between me and the neighbors.  And I have not yet once spotted an illegal- not once. I've had Border Patrol cross my property on horseback for no reason other than, hey, they were out patrolling, I've had them block my private road in an exercise, I've seen them sitting head to tail chatting with each other on the side of the road- but I've never seen them catch anyone. Not in six years.Illegal immigrants do not qualify for entitlements.  Children who were born here, on US soil, are NOT illegal immigrants, they are citizens.  If the Constitution is to be followed as written, they are citizens no matter how much someone doesn't like it-  and you cannot count monies provided these citizens as somehow "costing the US" as if they were illegal. The illegal drugs coming across the border here in Arizona are more harmful to our economy and our society than the illegal immigrants who are just trying to get ahead here in Arizona. And the solution to the drugs is as simple as legalizing and regulating. Do that, and the major problem of illegal immigration is far less impactful here in Arizona.

Is it illegal taking pictures in the subway stations or subway?

Officially, it's legal. However, cops sometimes give photographers a hard time. If you take pictures then do it at a touristy station like Times Square.
