Is It Legal For My Boss To Drop My Wage To Pay For My Super Nsw

Would superanution be worth anything when i'm old?

I don't think you are looking at the whole superannuation thing from the right angle. Superannuation funds are invested so that you earn interest on what you pay into it.The interest is re invested with the capital. Thus if you have $10,000 invested by the fund at 3% per annum at the end of 12 months you not only have the $10,000 but also another $300. In the next 12 months the whole amount of $10,300 is earning 3%.
At the moment the law says that your employe has to pay 9% of your salary into super but this can change. You can add to that 9% yourself before tax so that there is a greater amount earning that 3% in my example.
This is a very simplistic way of explaining it, I know. Hopefully someone else can explain it better.

Thanks, Sheila. Much better info.

@ Courland, Take the opportunity now, at your young age to contribute a few extra dollars over the amount from your employer, even just $5, each payday to your super fund, and you will be surprised how much it will be worth in 40 years. You really won't miss a few dollars but they will make a huge difference to the end result.

I will give you one more piece of advice my brother gave me. Get a good private financial adviser. Don't just take advice from friends. Pay the person and don't complain about the fee because the information and suggestions he/she will give you are worth far more in the long run than the $s paid. (My brother is extremely well off now but started with nothing 40 years ago. The advice of someone who has amassed wealth as he has is worth listening to.

Adit. Another thing about superannuation funds is "salary insurance". Some, not all, include a safeguard for the contributor which if he/she is unable to work and is not covered by worker's comp, ie some illness or non work related accident, they will pay about 80% of income for a set period usually some years. There are ads on TV for a similar thing at the moment but they are mainly for the self employed.

How much do boxers make per fight? Is that their main income?

It will depend on many things. How good you are, how famous you become, and your weight division. Heavyweights, 140’s - 160’s are divisions were boxers best perform in terms of income. If you are a Mike Tyson or a Floyd Mayweather, you will become rich fast. Floyd for example had a $300 million deal with Showtime for six fights. He did more than that.Average SalariesThe U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professional athletes -- a category that includes professional boxers -- had an average salary of $75,760 in 2012, with a median salary of $40,060. Professional athlete salaries can be as low as $18,040 a year, according to the BLS in 2012. Pro-boxing prospects may only fight a certain number of times a year and average annual salaries can vary widely. For example, a pro-boxer fighting 12 times yearly could make roughly $2,000 per 10 rounds boxed, or $24,000 at $200 per round. Pro-boxer salaries, however, are also decreased by various expenses.Take a look at this web site: Salaries of Pro Boxers

I'm an international student. How can I find part time job in Australia?

I am an international student at Melbourne. At Australia , if you need to find a good part time job , you need reference. When i came to Melbourne i could not find any jobs in the initial days as i had no body to refer me.I started applying jobs in SEEK, indeed , Gum tree and so many other local job search engines. But i started getting rejection mails. Then i decided to go with my resume to the shops , petrol pumps and super markets. I was lucky enough that one guy whom i met at COLES (Leading Supermarket Giant) at Australia gave me his Team leaders number and i ringed him several times and finally i got a chance for the interview. Its since 8 months i am working for COLES.You can search jobs in online sites like SEEK , indeed , Gum tree. But personally getting a good paid job from these sites without reference is hard. so the best advice is to take a good resume and cover letter and to go and meet store managers in person and they will give you an opportunity to attend interview if they have vacancies. You can apply for certificates like RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol Courses) which can help you in fetching handsome paid jobs during some big events managed by Massive event management team(Atlantic Group Weddings.)Never get disappointed. I have few friends who could not find any jobs in the first few months , but when they got jobs the pay was super cool. The cash in hand jobs pays the lowest wage at Australia. Main part time jobs at Australia are as follows.Desktop analyst (Pay $20–35)Research assistantsUniversity jobs (Best Jobs)Supermarket(Coles , Woolworth ) , Pay ($19 -$21.9) basic. On Sunday's and public holidays it goes up to $34, $55 per hour.Car washWaitress/ Wait staffWarehouse(loading and unloading)Delivery driver ( Vic licence is required mostly)Uber eats Sign up to drive with UberCleaning jobsPetrol pumps ( 7-Eleven Good Call™)Small clerical potions. The wages starts from $10(cash in hand jobs ) and can go till $35 jobs which will come to your account via TFN (TFN Australia)All the best.Deepak

How many rooms does the average housekeeper get thru in a day? Do you get good insurance? or none at all? Thanks for any help!!!!

What's a reasonable hourly labor rate for an auto mechanic, and what factors contribute to that rate?

I’ve paid various pricesm guessing from $50 to $85.example 0: City of San Francisco - 2003 replace doo-dad in transmission, they looked up the “hours to replace doo-dad” in a reate-book or sort, the book said 12 so they charged me 12 hours. It could have taken em 5h or 15h, but they charged me 12 hours. Labor rate was $85/hour.example 1: San Jose 2014, 30k miles ago - Replace head gasket on an inline-6 engine. The shop is certainly all about car repair - the office is a small room filled with parts and whatnot. Headgasket + head rebuild (machined and cleaned) + new oil + new coolant + parts + labor was $1500 total before tax. Dealer would be $3–$4k (I did not even check, quoting those numbers from an online forum). So for the work, guessing even $500 for parts, then $1000 labor for machining, head rebuild, and replacement, I am certain it was more than 10 hours, so less than $100/hour in labor. Guessing 15 hours, thats around $70/hour.As others have said, it really depends. KEy is find a shop that values you, and they’ll take care of you as a customer.
