Is it acceptable for my fourteen year old son to walk around the house in his underwear?
My 14y/o may run to the laundry in his underwear and a T-shirt to get a specific piece of clothing he wants or from his room to the bathroom. But he does not casually roam the house in his underwear. It’s more a matter of convenience and just a temorary state of patial dress, not a lifestyle choice. I have no problem with this. It’s our home and it would never happen if he had friends over or if family was staying with us. I see him having appropriate boundaries and modesty as related to family life.
Can my boyfriends mom become my legal guardian?
I'm sorry but you have no hope of becoming emancipated with your history - even if you want to try. There is also no way that your boyfriend's mother is going to be appointed as your guardian given your history. I'm sorry but your decisions have been self destructive and very immature. Cutting yourself is an indication of serious mental health issues - there is absolutely no way a judge is going to do what you want. If your boyfriend's mother attempts to get the court involved, it is very likely the court would order you to submit to a mental health evaluation. You are much more likely to be hospitalized in a mental health facility than anything else. You indicate that you believe your mother has "ruined (your) life" and caused you to cut yourself, overdose, use illegal drugs, etc. (Not too surprising that your mother doesn't trust you, by the way.) But these self-destructive behaviors are choices that you are making. If you really had life figured out, you would be doing everything in your power to secure your future so you could move out the moment you were legally allowed to. The fastest way to achieve this would be to buckle down at school, graduate from high school early, and enroll in college as an early start student. Some college freshmen are only 16 - and these are often the students who had miserable home lives but who were determined to have a successful life.
What grade do 16 yr olds go to?
The average child enters the 10 grade at age 16 (or the year of their 16th birthday). I say year of their 16th birthday, because, some children may start school in August or September, when they are “numerically” 15 years old, and then turn 16 once they are in school in October (for example), which is why I say they YEAR of their birthday, not the month or day. The average child graduates high school at 18 (again, numerically. If your birthday falls AFTER the day of graduation, “technically”, “numerically” you graduate at 17.) It depends on how you look at it. To figure it out though, calculate the YEAR of their birth, rather than the month or day.Did I confuse everyone further? I hope not :D
I'm 14-years-old and want to make a difference by creating my own non-profit organization. How can I do this?
I actually did this when I was 14. Ran the organization until recently at 23. Holy hell was it difficult. Here is what I told someone recently. I do have some advice, but might not be what you are hoping to hear. Starting a nonprofit organization is very difficult, and there are quite a lot of them. The only time I would recommend to anyone to start a nonprofit is if it is truly an innovation on current service delivery method or a need that no other organization is doing. With an overall lack of funds, I hated seeing organizations with the same mission compete for donors and grant money. It was not what was best for whomever they were serving. Something that I would recommend if you have the entrepreneurial spirit in you is to find a product you can sell and make it a social purpose business. Meaning you are actually running a business, but you use some of your profits to do good. I caution against starting a non-profit (probably seems a little hypocritical) because it is truly all consuming and there is usually someone already doing something in the area you want to make a difference in. However, if there is a need in your area that isn't being met, or you can see an innovation on what someone is doing, then it is a whole new ballgame. I hope that makes a little sense and maybe helps a bit.
How do I deal with my ignorant mom?
There's an astral projection course going on in my area soon. I had to tell my mom about it because I had no cash when the lecture started. I explained to her what astral projection is (Summarized it.) and she has apparently been looking it up on the internet finding pictures of people in electric chairs being tortured (She basically thinks this is how you project.) I told her anyone can upload false information to the internet, that she was on the wrong page, etc. I tried practically everything. She's extremely ignorant and says she's going to call the police, and tell my school, etc if I go on the course. I'm 16. The fact that she still has this much power over me is pathetic. She also said she'd get rid of everything I own. What should I do? How can I convince her that it's perfectly harmless and normal?
