Is It Legal To Threaten A Wage Cut In America For Taking A Break

Do illegal immigrants really pay income taxes?

Okay so me and my dad were talking about immigration recently. My Dad immigrated from Mexico LEGALLY when he was younger, met and married my mom, and is now a citizen. So he gets pretty ticked off at illegal immigrants he says because "if I could get here legally, anybody can."

Anyhow, I've seen on a variety of newspapers and stuff that illegal immigrants pay income taxes. Also, according to Wikipedia they do too:

"The Congressional Budget office (CBO) estimates that people in the this salary bracket (the second quintile) pay about 6.8% of their income in Federal taxes.[63] The average household in the bottom quintile received $29,015 in benefits and paid $4,251 in Federal, state and local taxes. In the second quintile the average household received $24,709 in benefits and paid $9,524 in Federal, state and local taxes. In the top quintile, the average household received $21,515 in benefits and services and paid $69,704 in Federal, state and local taxes.[64]"

That's from the article "Economic impact of undocumented immigrants in the United States,".

My question is: Is it really even possible for an illegal alien to pay federal income taxes? I mean, they have no legal identification! How do they do that? How are they audited? And, even more distressing, if they really can pay taxes, don't you think it'd also be plausible they could vote. Thanks for your input.

Is it legal to leave a taxi without paying if they are supposed to take credit cards, but the driver claims that the machine is broken? What happens if you just say "credit card or nothing" and threaten to walk away?

I’m not sure if it’s legal or not, but I’ve done it.In my city, cabs are required by law to have credit card machines/accept credit cards. I hailed a cab for a work-related trip across town, and when we got to my destination, I gave him my card, and he said, the reader’s not working, you have to pay cash. I had no cash on my person, as I very rarely carry cash. I asked him to call the cab company/dispatch to get them to take payment over the phone. He initially refused, but finally relented, but when he called them, he told me that they said they couldn’t take payment over the phone, which I’m certain was bullsh!t.I told him, listen, I don’t have any cash and you are required by law to accept credit cards, so you need to figure out a way to charge my credit card. Then he said, you can go into that liquor store over there to use the ATM to get cash to pay me. And I was like, Aw, hell no!!! I am not paying $5 in ATM fees so that I can pay you for a $7 cab ride, when you are REQUIRED BY LAW to accept credit cards. You find a way to charge my credit card, or I’m not paying.Well, he started cursing at me and verbally abusing me, calling me a b!tch and all other names, and I was like, all right, I’m getting out of this cab and walking away without paying.Edited to Add: Since that day, I refuse to take cabs. Now, I only use Uber or Lyft.

Is President Trump right in threatening to shut down the southern border over the Honduran caravan heading towards the United States?

Well yes. Let’s make one thing clear, these folks aren’t fleeing an oppressive regime. If they were then they could stop right where they are in Mexico and establish a new life there. This is about wanting to live in the USA. That’s the first thing to clear up. This is not a move out of necessity. With that in mind, do you think anyone that simply wants to live here should be allowed to? We have some fairly nice stuff when looking at our opportunities on a global landscape. However, we have many people in our country that are homeless, impoverished, or need assistance with drug abuse or mental illness. The way I look at it is we have a plethora of people already here that need help and that should be addressed first and foremost. Everyday in my car I see people on street corners begging for money as society leaves them behind. If thinking from an emotional standpoint in an idealistic world, we’d just rescue everyone but that’s not reality. To me that is thinking with your heart over your head.If America takes in every country’s citizens because of their governments poor decisions it won’t encourage change, and it will break the back of our infrastructure. We have the largest debt load in the world and many people who can’t afford healthcare. We don’t have much business taking in folks who are immediately in need of our social services. Remember these aren’t doctors or tech entrepreneurs walking here.I feel badly for these poor people, but the USA needs to get its own house in order prior to harboring immigrants. Maybe instead they can bring about great positive change to Honduras. Lastly, allowing any of them is kinda unfair to the people who have been waiting lawfully for their chance for many years.I think philosophically you should ask yourself: Is the role of the US government (and by virtue its citizens) to 1) Serve its own people, or 2) Play caregiver to the world’s poor? For me it’s clear.

What legal action one could take if someone is refusing to pay the money back he has lent?

If you have lent the money in good faith for his benefit without charging any unlawful interest, such as helping him on his medical expenditure etc. , then you can file a recovery suit in a civil court having the Jurisdiction to try the suit. The Jurisdiction of a civil court varies from case to case, it depends on the amount of the suit or the amount of money that you are seeking to recover.Note: relevant document's such as agreement paper etc. are usually required in such case to prove your claim.

Can my parents break my stuff?

Yes they legally can because it is in their house and because you are probably under 18. Maybe they are concern that you are becoming wierd and isolated from them and the whole world. Shutting out the world and being on you computer all the time is not mentally healthy for you. If you want them off your back show up once in awhile and spend just a little time with them so they aren't so worried about you.

If my car breaks down & I get fired can I get unemployment?

I have been with this company for 6 years and as a copier repair technician I use my personal car daily. With pay cuts and no raises for over 5 years and increases in cost of living, insurance, etc... My credit has slipped and cant afford a new car. The repairs have been so numerous (1200 miles a week will kill any car) I have no money left. I have to borrow to feed myself lately in order to pay bills, rent, insurance and now my transmission is going. my Question is this:
If my car becomes disabled and I have no means to get to work I will get fired. Will I qualify for unemployment? I just dont know what to do anymore. I am at the end of my rope and I dont have any money and am scared. I feel like all of America is like this now. The rich are getting richer and us people in the middle are now quickly falling to the bottom. Also I AM looking for another career but its tough out there. And yes I am reimbursed for mileage, but the program (Runzheimers) doesnt pay enough to keep up with repairs and payments and insurance, as a matter of fact they are REDUCING my rate because my car is older than 5 years. they will continue to reduce the rate until we buy a new car. makes me SICK to my stomach

Are Mexican illegal immigrants being financially exploited?

They do not have the protections that legal workers have, if they are working under the table.
They do not have workmans comp, or unemployment, or social security/medicare, wage
protection or safe working conditions. However, their take home pay is usually higher
than legal workers because of no deductions.
If they are working with stolen documents, they have all the above. (and the owners of the
documents have alot of explaining to do with the IRS, and alot of paying to do!)
They usually make the same as the legal workers in takehome.
So you're both right.

Is it legal to shoot a burglar in your own house? Does it matter if their back is turned to you?

In Texas, it generally is legal to shoot a burglar and it doesn’t matter whether his back was turned, inside your house.Someone with his back to you could be picking up something to brain you with, or be heading to the kitchen to get a butcher knife, or going down the hall for your wife or children.According to The Castle Doctrine, he has already demonstrated bad intent towards you and your family by breaking into your habitation while you were in it.Shooting a burglar in the back is sometimes called “Preventative Self Defense”.Not long after The Castle Doctrine was passed, a man in San Antonio found two men in a spare bedroom after having broken in through a garage door.He killed one in the bedroom with a shotgun, while the other pushed past him and ran out a sliding patio door into the back yard.As he was trying to climb over a six-foot wood privacy fence, the homeowner walked out and shotgunned him in the back, killing him too.No charges were filed. I found THAT a little surprising, since the guy was outside, trying to run away. So, “It All Depends”, but history so far is “Yes, it’s legal”, at least in Texas. It should be noted that The Castle Doctrine was passed to keep over-zealous, anti-gun district attorneys from bringing unwarranted charges, and to protect homeowners from civil suits by burglars, or families of deceased burglars. It isn’t a license to knock off your in-laws or something. If you shoot someone who has broken into Your Castle and there’s ANY reason to suspect foul play, murder WILL be suspected and investigated. For instance, if you knew the burglar a detective will start looking for any motive you might have had for murdering him. If they find a motive, you’ll start getting asked some very pointed questions…Or if he (or his dead body) had anything on it which might indicate he was there for a legitimate purpose, THAT will not go unnoticed. The fact that he works for a cable company and has some sales brochures is not going to raise any eyebrows if you shoot him at 11:00pm, but at any time during normal working hours, it will make people wonder things… very inconvenient things for you.So it’s not just a license to shoot people, it’s merely a device to protect homeowners from unwarranted legal problems if they DO shoot someone and it is a justifiable shooting.

Is it legal in Texas to shoot someone who trespasses on your property if they do not enter your house?

No. It is not legal to shoot a trespasser just for being on your property, whether in your house or not. This is true anywhere in the USA and most other countries for the simple fact that homicide is a far worse crime than trespass. The trespasser has to reasonably represent a threat to life and limb and there has to be no other plausible way of protecting yourself or other innocent individuals. Of course where property is considered more important than humanity in the dominant culture, it is inevitable that some, perhaps many, sick individuals will imagine that this is legal, or may want this to be legal. The Stand Your Ground laws that now exist in many states are proof of that moral sickness. In most states, however, it remains not a grey area under law, that if you shoot someone when it is reasonable to assume that the person was not presenting a physical threat to you or anyone else, you have a fair chance of being imprisoned yourself.  If you shoot someone in the back who was trying to climb out of the window when you caught him robbing your house, for example, you are very likely to be charged with a homicide.
