Is It Normal To Have Super Boney Joints

Is it normal to have bumps on your skull as if the spine is on your head too? It’s perfectly aligned with my spine too.

Is it normal to have bumps on your skull as if the spine is on your head too? It’s perfectly aligned with my spine too.Yes. Your skull is made up of a number of bony plates that, in infants, can move and shift around. During growth, these bony plates finally shift into permanent places and fuse together at meeting lines called sutures. Sometimes, these lines form ridges and other times they are flat and cannot be felt. From Wikipedia article on The Skull —BonesExcept for the mandible, all of the bones of the skull are joined together by sutures—synarthrodial (immovable) joints formed by bony ossification, with Sharpey's fibres permitting some flexibility. Sometimes there can be extra bone pieces within the suture known as wormian bones or sutural boneseg.Lambda bone. The human skull is generally considered to consist of twenty-two bones—eight cranial bones and fourteen facial skeleton bones. In the neurocranium these are the occipital bone, two temporal bones, two parietal bones, the sphenoid, ethmoid and frontal bones. The bones of the facial skeleton(14) are the vomer, two nasal conchae, two nasal bones, two maxilla, the mandible, two palatine bones, two zygomatic bones, and two lacrimal bones. Some sources count a paired bone as one, or the maxilla as having two bones (as its parts); some sources include the hyoid bone or the three ossicles of the middle ear but the overall general consensus of the number of bones in the human skull is the stated twenty-two.Some of these bones—the occipital, parietal, frontal, in the neurocranium, and the nasal, lacrimal, and vomer, in the facial skeleton are flat bones. It makes sense that you might be able to feel those suture lines if you happen to be one of the many people whose bony plates don’t happen to fuse flat. They follow the lines formed by the rest of your skeleton, and could very well feel like extensions of your spine. I wouldn’t worry about it, but if you do, mention it to your doctor the next time you have a regular visit with him/her. No need for a special visit.

Why do some people have such prominent collar bones while others seem to have none? What is the function of collar bones and can some people have none?

So, this is a two part question and deserves a two part answer. I'm going to start with the second one, which is the function of the bone in question. We biological anthropologists call them clavicles, and it anchors to two points, the scapula(shoulderblade) and the sternum(breastbone). The purpose of the clavicle is to provide support for the scapula, which is of course the anchor for the humerus(the upper arm bone), but more importantly, the clavicles give you the ability to move your shoulders. If you didn't have clavicles, you would not be able to move your arms in any direction. Your ability to lift your arms out to regain your balance, roll your shoulders, pick something up off a tall shelf, all thanks to the clavicles working in conjunction with the scapula. So obviously it goes without saying that you cannot live without them, unless you like the idea of not being able to use two of your limbs effectively. So, why do some people have prominent clavicles and others don't seem to have them at all? That one’s easy, it just comes down to how you carry weight. Someone with an exomorpic body type like me(thin, trouble gaining fat and muscle) will have prominent clavicles, but also just more prominent bones in general because they have less fat and muscle and don't carry it in their chests. However you go to someone who is mesomorphic(athletic, easy to build and lose muscle and fat) or endomorphic(average, easy to build fat and muscle but often hard to lose it) may not have prominent or even visible clavicles because of their weight distribution.I think that about covers it, hope it helps.
