Is It Ok To Be A Fan Of Two Mlb Teams

Is it okay to like two teams?

I like the Jets, and Giants in the NFL, and i like the Mets in baseball. also since I like having a second favorite team, I think I would like the Red Sox. But is it okay to like a second favorite team. Because people say stuff like "you can only have one." So can you all please answer this and tell me if I can like two teams. If it is okay.

Rooting for two MLB teams?

Go right ahead. You define your own fandom -- there is no right way, and the only wrong ways are in the restrictive advice offered by ill-meaning fans.

...but the Cardinals? You can do better.

Is it ok to like two baseball teams?

Ok my mom is a big Orioles fan, and my dad is a huge Phillies fan. ive been a diehard fan of both teams so far, but, with the two playing each other this year, i am thinking about choosing just one. people always ask me why some days i wear an orioles shirt but talk about the phillies, so im not sure what to do bc i really like both teams, even though philly is doing so much better now. Is it possible to be a real fan of both?

What MLB team has the best fanbase?

Even though I'm an Indians fan from Cleveland I'd have to say the Boston Red Sox and Chicago cubs. Like the Indians they have languished in mediocrity for years yet those fans have always been there faithfully filling those quaint old parks. Both teams have found recent success winning championships - Boston has won multiple - after waiting almost 100 years since their last one. That requires a great fan base.Cleveland has one as well and while they have had some success the past 20–25 yrs making the postseason several times and been regular contenders most of that time they have taken over the roll of languishing without a ring now since 1948. Their fan base is loyal and good but not as good as the other two. Hopefully they're fans don't need to wait almost 100 years like those two teams fans did.

Can you like two baseball teams?

There are 30 teams in Major League Baseball across two leagues and six total divisions, which is more than enough to have split loyalties. My favorite team is the Atlanta Braves.

BUT, I like the Rays too. They are a good team that continuously surprise me because they are not that old of a team.

I also like the Tigers because my boyfriend is from the Detroit area. If they win, he's happy, so I'm happy.

There's -nothing- wrong with rooting for more than one team. Everyone has a favorite I think, but it is perfectly legitimate to be happy when any of your favorites win.

There's also something to be said about when two teams are in the World Series. I see so many people suddenly abandon their team if that team didn't make the World Series and suddenly cheer one of the two in the World Series on. You fellow Rangers fans still have their preferences if the Rangers don't get into the World Series. :)

Why does Chicago have two MLB teams?

Because the have both been there over 100 years. Before Commissioner Selig merged the American League and National League, they used to operate as two separate leagues. It was as common for a city to have 2 teams (1 AL, 1 NL) as 1 team. Between 1900-1950, the following cities had 2 teams: Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, St. Louis, New York(3 teams)

What is your favorite MLB team?

I write for Tomahawk Take - An Atlanta Braves Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More so that makes the answer pretty easy to figure out.I grew up in a Cubs household back when there were only eight teams in each league. My dad was a Cubs fan all his life. I joined the Air Force in 68 and spent all but three of the next 22 years overseas. When I returned I found the Cubs as inept as ever and deduced that the owners at the time didn’t care if they won so I looked for a team that did. I’m not an AL fan at all and the only games we got out here were Cubs on WGN and Braves on TBS. T hat was 1991; the worst to first season. They wanted to win so I stuck with them.Even when I was a kid, the Braves (in Milwaukee then) were good. Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, Warren Spahn, Lew Burdette and a host of others destroyed the Cubs most games. They played exciting ball and even my dad loved Spahn, Aaron and Mathews - though he would have had less flattering terms for them. That made it easy to become a Braves fan.Since then I began following them closely they had the streak followed but stumbling around the basement for a while and getting hit for a season then slipping back. The last rebuild began in 2015 and painful seasons followed. Now they look like being good for a long time again. That is after all what baseball is all about,

How do you choose your favorite MLB team?

Rules for picking your favorite team:

1) You can only have one favorite team.
2) once selected you can only change your favorite team under extraordinary circumstances.

Now how do you pick your team?

The easist and most rational method is to support your hometown team. You live in Columbus, so you don't really have one, but the Reds and Indians, both being from Ohio warrent consideration.

Also, in Columbs you have the Clippers which is the AAA afiliate for the Washington Nationals. This would be a great option because you can start rooting for these players at a reasonable price while they are promising stars on the come. And then transfer that right into watching MLB games.

A final way is to look around the league and find a franchise that you think is run well and pick them. Of course if you do this you must remember rule number 2, there is nothing worse than a bandwagon jumper, to truly be a fan you have to stick with them through the bad times, it makes to good times that much better. Also remember if you go this route don't choose the Yankees, 'cuz that's like rooting for the house in blackjack.
