Is It Ok To Do This With My Dogs

I drank out of the same cup as my dog? is that ok?

Eww. Next time, remember that while you use soap and water to bathe, your dog uses its tongue.

Can i paint my dogs nails?????

i am a licensed manicurist, as well as a dog mom.....

first does your dog in anyway clean her nails and pads a lot???? then not a good idea.
allergies??? then not a good idea.
dog have light or dark color nails naturally? dark nails, polish is pointless, just cant see it anyway.

i must say just for fun i have done this. only a couple of times... this was on family manicure day. i have all girls, dog is too, was kinda funny cause dog was interested in everything we did, ESPECIALLY the bubbly vibrating foot bath....lmao.

being a manicurist, i know lots of products.. the only one i will ever use on my human kids is formaldehyde free, read labels,. there are a few brands out there that are pretty good. so this is what i used.

but like i said, this only happened a couple time. and our dog is so active it was gone in a day anyway. she does not really clean her feet so much either.. or have allergies.

Is it okay if i do this to my dog?

It's not animal abuse lol. If he doesn't seem mad then if you want to do it then do it. I do the same thing to my dog and he doesn't care at all. Yours is only 3 months so he probably wants to play if he barks.

Is it OK to dig up my dog's bones?

Dogs have an instinct to bury food objects when they have had enough. When pet dogs are being fed regularly, it becomes a hobby. They may scent, dig up, carry around, and rebury a bone a number of times.Your dog has little emotional investment in the bone, and you are her Alpha leader. Any thing you do is OK with her as long as it doesn’t hurt, and she’ll give you the benefit of the doubt if it does hurt. Why are you unearthing the bones? If you are trying to protect your yard, throw them away. She will play the bone game as long as it amuses her. Every time you dig the bone up and give it to her, it’s a new treat. Some dogs hold serious grudges. They can become real problems for the caretaker. You are the only one who can tell if she is one of those. If she is, ditch the bones and don’t give her more incidents to hold against you. If she is a typical cockapoo, she only remembers the bones enough to go sniffing around where she buried them, and she ain’t mad about nothin’.Thanks for the ask. As a reward for asking here is my favorite dog hiding bone drawing. By Guy Gilchrist, cartoonist:Today's Dogg by Guy Gilchrist for Apr 17, 2017 | GoComics.com

Is it bad for dogs to eat charred wood?

Charcoal has traditionally been fed to dogs and even people suffering from stomach upsets and gas. Treats containing charcoal can be found .Eating a modest amount is unlikely to hurt her, but it is always wise to call the vet if there is any doubt.

One thing to think about is whether the wood you burned in your fireplace was treated with any chemicals or is the wood of a tree known to be toxic to dogs.

Here is a list of trees reported to be toxic to dogs:
Trees: Avocado, Buddhist Pine, Chinaberry Tree, Japanese Yew (aka Yew), Lacy Tree, Macadamia Nut, Madagascar Dragon Tree, Queensland Nut, Schefflera, Yew (aka Japanese Yew)
Vines: Branching Ivy, English Ivy, European Bittersweet, Glacier Ivy, Hahn's self branching English Ivy, Needlepoint Ivy

Is it OK for a dog to drink stream water?

We certainly wouldn't do it.... too many germs, we'd have to boil it or chlorinate it first. Why would or wouldn't it be good for a dog?

Sometimes I take my dog on a walk and we forget to bring water and he ends up drinking out of a stream. right now in summer the water is not flowing that fast and the water is shallow but he likes to run through it and lap it up

Is it ok to put my dog in a cage at night?

It concerns me that your question seems so dry and cold. Most people refer to crates, not cages, which sounds more like a jail or a zoo. And I would inquire why you would want to crate (or cage) your pet at night, if you are home. When the dog is a young puppy, many people begin the house-training process by crating - usually this is temporary, while the puppy learns that you want him to relieve himself outdoors, and while his immature organs are strengthening, and he is gaining control of himself, which can be anywhere from 12 - 16 weeks, up to 6 months, depending on the individual puppy, and also the circumstances, diet, type of dog, and more. Many people use a crate to help a puppy feel secure and safe, and to enforce nap times after walks and play time, when a puppy is tired, and like small children, sometimes over-tired and wired. The crate can reinforce “nap time”. But for most dogs, once they are 6 or 7 months old, the door of the crate can come off, because they have come to view the crate as their “den”, and they will happily go in on their own, because it feels like their safe place, their bed. Many times, they will bring a toy in to chew, or just lay in the doorway, watching whatever’s going on in the house. While not everyone likes to have their dog sleep with them, most dogs, if given a bed, pillow, or blanket in your bedroom, will sleep there quite contentedly. One of my dogs, while quite welcome in my room, prefers to sleep in the living room, because he is protective of me, and of the house, and he can watch and listen to everything from there. Our German Shepherds were that way, while our Dobermans wanted to all be in the bed with us, which was always rather funny. But when I was growing up, my family didn’t want the dogs on the furniture, so they slept in beds or on folded blankets or large pillows. I never even saw a crate until I was about 50 years old! The only “cages” I knew were the ones at animal shelters, and those poor dogs and cats were just miserable being locked in them.So I would hesitate to say it’s OK without having a clearer picture of why you would want to do that - as well as what are the dog’s circumstances during the days - where is he, what is he doing, is he among people or at a dog day care, or going to work with you, and whether he is a destructive dog or not trustworthy.

Will my dog be okay, she ate a grape?

She is 10 pounds. She ate a full breakfast of kibble. Then i caught her on the table (she has NEVER done that shit before) sniffin around my breakfast that had a bowl of grapes next to it. Idk how many she ate or if she even ate any, she couldn't have gotten a hold of a lot. This happened at 8:30am. I took her to the vet and she said it should be fine just watch for signs of poisoning. Its now 1:40She has been fine all day, she pooped once and it was solid. I also feed her a lot more then she is used to today in order to get her bowels moving. She is a bit tired now but not super lethargic, she usually takes naps but I have been keeping her up, to see how she is.Everything I read on the internet said I should have induced vomiting but my doctor advised against it since she is so small and it could be dangerous.Do you think she will be ok? How long before I know if I’m out of the woods on this one.

What should I do if my dog ate almonds?

Why Almonds Are Bad for DogsWhile many dogs love the taste of almonds, consuming them can cause gastric intestinal distress. If your dog accidentally eats a few, be on the lookout for these symptoms:VomitingDiarrheaGasLoss of appetiteLethargyGeneral discomfortAlmonds, like most nuts, are high in fat and can put your pup at risk of developing pancreatitis. It’s a serious condition that requires the attention of your veterinarian. This snack also poses another dangerous problem: obstruction. Almonds can block your dog’s esophagus, intestines, or windpipe, especially in small breeds. These obstructions can be fatal if not treated, and they occasionally require surgery.Flavored almonds come with unique risks. The spices and flavorings can irritate your dog’s stomach, and the salt in the seasoning can lead to water retention and salt toxicity if consumed in large quantities. In short, almonds are not healthy for dogs. I found many articles in the internet about this and so helpful for what I read. In some other topic I found this website: Likeable Pets this grooms your dogs and are so friendly.
