It depends on many factors. Are you a returning resident, resident, tourist, what you plan to do with all the devices (give them as gifts, take them when you leave India, sell them, etc.), what the value of the devices is and other factors. Why not? My family did just that. They were in separate backpacks and carried by different people, obviously, but I don’t think that had impact on their legality. If you somehow stuff them in one bag/satchel/what have you, then I just hope it’s the lighter ones like Macbook Air, or at the very least, not the monster gaming ones. Then, you’ll be certain they won’t violate the weigh-in requirements (though it’s obviously best to measure your luggage’s weight yourself beforehand to be sure), which is about the only trouble with the law I think you might conceivably run into.

The only problem is we have to take out two of them from our bags and keep in two separate bins :) except that there is no rule or regulation for domestic carriers at least.If you travel on international airlines, they do have some weight restrictions (max 7kgs) for personal items apart from check in bags. When I travel from India, everytime I faced this issue, when I fly from US to India no one really weighed my backpack, only weighed the carryon and said ok. But when I come from India, they always weigh backpack and carryon together and object everytime for overweight. So be careful in those scenarios.

I have carried two laptops when flying a few times with no issue (though not flying with Lufthansa).Generally, if you can fit the 2 laptops into the allowable carry-on bag(s) the airline permits you to take with you to the cabin, you should be fine. However, there are some airlines also impose weight limit on the carry-on bags besides size, so you may want to call Lufthansa just to be sure.
