Is It Okay To Leave My Dogs For 2 Weeks

Is 2 weeks too long to leave a dog at a kennel?

This summer I will be on vacation for 2 weeks and will need to leave my dog at his usual kennel/doggy day care place. He's been here before but hasn't stayed anymore than 2 days. I also have a friend who works there so I trust she will take care of his as well but is two weeks too long or will he be ok?
I don't have anywhere else to leave him, family can't take him and I can't take him with me since I'm going overseas!
Any suggestions?

Will it be ok for me to leave my dog in the basement for 2 week while I go on vacation I cant afford a sitter?

I can't believe you're serious. Unless there is a friend or relative to check on them everyday, it's incredibly dangerous and cruel. I tried it once for 2 days. An entire tub of food. A bathtub full of water.
I returned to find my shepherd covered in poop and blood. He was bloated from overeating. His water was soiled with feces. His dog food was scattered everywhere. His claws were bloody from trying to dig his way out.
When I had 2 shepherds, I just left them for one day and one night. They got into a fight and needed vet care.
YOU'RE TALKING TWO WEEKS!!! That is against the law. It is animal cruelty to the umpteenth degree.
Try running a newspaper ad to see if someone will watch your dog more cheaply. It won't guarantee their care, but it's better than your plan.
I GUARANTEE YOU THAT IF YOU DO THIS AWFUL THING, YOU WILL FIND YOUR DOG SICK, INJURED OR DEAD.
PLEASE DON'T DO THIS.

Is it ok to board a dog for 2 weeks?

This summer, I will be leaving for vacation for 2 weeks. I have no where to leave my dog (family can't take him) other than the kennel/day care area he has been at before, yet he's only stayed a max of 2 days before.
Has anyone boarded their dog for this long? The place is very good and in fact one of my friends runs the place so I trust her...I'm just worried about my dog being in a strange place for so long.
Any suggestions?

How can i leave my dog alone for 2 days?

You can't leave a dog on its own. Simple as that. You need to find a neighbour who can doggy sit.

If you leave a heap of food, the dog will probably go and try and eat it all at once, then you come home to a seriously sick dog, or even a dead dog, from gut problems, especially after he's splashed over his water and is now dehydrated too.

Not to mention he'd probably wreck the place from boredom and poop/pee everywhere.

Is it okay to leave an 11 week puppy for a 4-6 day vacation?

People who have a lot of experience with dogs know that they are social and resilient. It's probably okay to leave your puppy with a trusted friend for a few days. If he is 11 weeks old now, you've probably had him about 4–6 weeks, a decent time for him to know your household routine, and when you return from your trip, your puppy will most likely snap back into his routine with you. ( If he is a pure breed, you might consult with a breeder to learn how his breed responds to events like this.)I would NOT recommend boarding him at a kennel or doggy day care. Even though he will have had his first shots, his full immunity to many serious diseases won't be established till he is six months old. Also, a boarding kennel is a rather chaotic environment, a poor choice for his developing sense of family and routine. You might ask yourself how often you plan to travel and leave him behind. As a baby, he will be at the least risk staying with your friends, but if you plan to travel a great deal, figure out how to bring him along, or else accustom him to a routine of staying with one or two welcoming households, the doggy equivalent of Auntie’s or Grandma’s house.

Can I leave my Labrador puppy which is 8 weeks old alone for 10 hours?

An 8 week old pup needs to eat 5–6 small meals a day. He will poop after every meal and pee around 10 times a day. Puppies that young need round the clock care until they are a little bit older, toilet trained and can stay by themselves. Until then it would be wrong to leave him alone.See if you can arrange for someone to come and feed him and clean up after him at regular intervals or maybe look for a doggy day care. Or else giving the pup for adoption seems to be the way to go.
