Is It Possible For Heritage Looks Wise To Skip A Few Generations

Is it possible that we inherit more than 50% of genetic material from the mother since we inherit the exact copy of the mitochondrial DNA from our mothers?

if you are female, you inherit 50% of the nuclear DNA from mom, 50% from dad, because they each give you an X chromosome. If you are a male, you get slightly more than 50% of your nuclear DNA from mom, because you get her X chromosome and dad's Y chromosome, and the X chromosome has 153 million base pairs and about 2000 genes, while the Y chromosome is about 58 million base pairs and about 200 genes. so if you calculate on the bases of the whole genome, which is about 3.3 billion base pairs, it ends up being that you have around 2.7% more nuclear DNA from your mom. An interesting point here is that fathers pass down a bit more nuclear DNA to daughters than to sons, because they give the much larger X chromosome to daughters!  Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is very, very small (~17000 base pairs), but there are many genomes per cell. In humans (in mammals in general), mtDNA is inherited only from the mom, because the mtDNA in the sperm is actively destroyed and does not get into the egg, but there is one recorded case of mtDNA being inherited from the dad[1].So yes, overall, there is more DNA from mom, but only slightly more. Why is wildlife conservation necessary?

Conserving wildlife is important for your existence on this planet. The planet has its natural cycle which ensures maintenance of ecological sustenance. The smallest of bacteria present, when in your body assists vital processes like digestion and when outside plays a important role in decomposition of dead organic matter. The insects are eaten by amphibians, birds. If not, then you'll have bugs all around you all the time,in your food etc. The predators eat herbivores to ensure green vegetation is maintained for balancing oxygen in our environment.Wildlife was meticulously planned and employed as eco brigade soldiers, each playing a vital role in some way for supporting life on earth. Can behavior be passed down genetically?

Thanks for the A2A; this was a more interesting question than I thought it was at first, due in part to the two part phrasing. My initial thought was that, no, behaviors don't get inherited, traits do - that is, just because good old dad robs banks, it doesn't mean you're destined to become a robber too, though the traits contributing to his criminality (e.g., impulsivity, short-sightedness) might be inherited. By this sort of layman's definition, homosexuality (a trait, not a behavior) would be inheritable. We would still see skips in generations and "spontaneous" occurrences of homosexuality in the same way we would for any other non-dominant trait. As I did a little (and a do mean, very little) research though, I learned that there are "behavioral geneticists" who tackle this type of question. From an article (http://news.sciencemag.org/biolo...) at Science Mag: "Studies comparing identical and fraternal twins suggest there is some heritable component to homosexuality, but no one believes that a single gene or genes can make a person gay. Any genetic predispositions probably interact with environmental factors that influence development of a sexual orientation." The article also says that these studies are still rather debatable - they're small and new - so it will be interesting to see what the science says as it progresses.
