Is It Possible For Me To Get Accepted Into Ucla

Is it possible for me to still get accepted to UCLA when I have been rejected by UCSB?

Yes and in fact, Santa Barbara is impacted, basically this means that it’s full and you will have a hard time getting in. UCSB is a very popular campus for many reasons. It’s half way between south and north (well almost) and it’s very safe, it has a great environment for students and has great majors.UCLA is much larger and can accept far more students, therefore your chance of getting in are increased simply due to sheer numbers of students who can be accepted.UC’s are the best deal in public education as far as I am concerned. Good luck!

Is it possible to get into UCLA with a C?

Of course it is possible. However, a C in high school (besides truly extraordinary situations) is typically the result of poor effort, low intelligence, or a combination of both.High school is significantly easier than college. If you're unable to motivate yourself / understand high school level material, how do you think you will handle a college curriculum? Depending on your field of study at UCLA and what class you got a C in, you could be setting yourself up for a tough time. If you're planning on studying a STEM related field you may want to think long and hard about signing yourself up for four years of being in the bottom half of your class talentwise. That said, I got a C+ in math when I was in high school and went on to study computer science at UCLA (I didn't apply directly to HSSEAS). I really struggled in the lower division math and physics classes. I felt like I needed to work 2–3 times as hard to get the same grade as my peers.I enjoyed the computer science courses enough and believed in myself enough to push through.Your mileage may vary.

How hard is it to get accepted into UCLA?

The UCLA acceptance rate is 18%, according to the UCLA freshman profile. That puts UCLA among the most selective colleges and universities. The freshman profile also shows the typical GPA and test scores of the freshman class, as represented by the middle half (25th to 75th percentile). If your profile is above the 75th percentile, you have good chances of getting in. If your profile is below the 25th percentile, you have weak chances of getting in. Here is the middle range for the ACT and SAT:ACT Composite Score: 29 - 34SAT Critical Reading: 620 - 740SAT Mathematics: 640 - 770The acceptance rate at the most selective colleges has been decreasing every year, due to increases in the number of applicants. However, the percentage of the student population with very high GPA and test scores has not changed. This tells us two things:It takes more than just a high GPA and test scores to get admitted. Excellence in extracurricular activities, athletics, hobbies and other personal background also matters.More students each year are submitting applications, even though they are not necessarily qualified. In effect, they are playing the admissions lottery, hoping to get into one of the most prestigious colleges. But, if they aren’t qualified, they won’t get in.This means that if you are qualified, it is no more difficult to get in than it was decades ago. You just have to be realistic about whether you meet the college’s selection criteria.

Students who got accepted into UCLA or Berkeley with a low GPA and not so good SAT scores, how did u get in?

Sometimes students are accepted into college on a conditional basis. Usually if while in high school they faced certain challenges that made it difficult for the student to succeed. For me, it was a Mother who was very ill and two little brothers who I had to babysit. My GPA was very low, and my Dad refused to pay for the SAT. I had very little hope of ever going to school after high school. I eventually went to a state school (which was also a community college) who accepted me conditional, I did very well as a part time student who worked full-time and still helped with the care of my brothers. Eventually I went to a University and graduated with honorable mention. Thank God someone gave me a second chance.

***Comment: So what is wrong with a community college? It is a cheap way to earn elective credit and to get basic courses out of the way. Plus, you can use it to show the universities who rejected you that they made a big mistake. Also, just because you start at a community college does not mean you have to finish there.
At the one I went to, you could earn a respectable degree from either Indiana u or Purdue. Purdue is a very respectable institution. Also since there was a top college in the area, some of the professors who taught at a top 15 school (in the world) were also working at the community college for extra money. So you can get a top dollar education at a community college. Plus, you can use the time in a community college to boost your GPA. Work hard to get the 4.0 and get involved and other colleges with fight for you. Which could lead to scholarships and grants. It also looks great when you can put on a resume that you worked full-time while you attended school part-time and earned a 4.0 while participating in campus activities.

How did I get accepted at Harvard and rejected at UCLA?

A2A. How did I get accepted at Harvard and rejected at UCLA?Admissions officers at Harvard saw something in you that UCLA admissions officers did not.

Can I get accepted into UCLA with 3.857 GPA as a freshman?

You're only a freshman. You have plenty of time.. Use it wisely. I wish I had the mentality in high school that I do now, but let me tell you this now, your education is more important than anything else with the exception of family, friends, etc. It may get hard but it will be worth it. In short, your GPA right now means close to nothing, it is a GREAT start, but you must be consistent. Study for every test, take the SAT, not once but as many times as you can. Keep it up and you'll get into whichever school you desire.

What are my chances of getting accepted into UCLA?

None at all. I hate to say it but YOU WILL NOT get in. Your GPA is way to low period....the UC's only look at your 10th and 11th year grades which means a 3.2 GPA is what UCLA is going to be looking at. Even though your scores on AP's and SAT's are impressive your GPA is way to low.

Some stats you might want to know about UCLA:

Admit Rate — Overall: 22.7%
Admits: 12,574
Applicants: 55,406
High School GPA: 4.15
ACT Composite Score: 29
SAT Critical Reading: 653
SAT Mathematics: 686
SAT Writing: 664

You may want to look into the lower UC's but even then your GPA is still relatively low.

Here are the following average High School GPA's of admitted students into the UC Campuses.

Berkeley: 4.18
UCLA: 4.15
UC San Diego: 4.07
UC Irvine: 3.95
UC Davis: 3.94
UC Santa Barbara: 3.94
UC Santa Cruz: 3.70
UC Riverside: 3.58
UC Merced: 3.54

Your SAT scores are WAY WAY WAY ABOVE AVERAGE for all the UC campuses but its your GPA that will significantly lower your chances.

If you have your heart set on UCLA you can try going to a California Community College and transfer over to UCLA after about 2 years.

Unless your a nationally ranked athlete and UCLA contacts you, I do not believe you stand a fighting a chance at an acceptance.

Sorry dude but its the harsh reality. College Admissions are harder than ever. Best of Luck!

P.S. I just graduated this year and I know how devistating it can be...I had my heart set on UCLA as well and I didn't get in either, I had to settle for UC San Diego.

Oohh. I forgot to mention having a D on a transcipt can mean a UC can cancel your admission...my advice retake the two classes in which you got a D and a Fail to boost your chances. As for retaking Ap English Language...don't do it, colleges will see that you took it twice, it's not worth it since you already passed it.
