Has anyone ever stole your identity online?

I had my identity stolen 5 times that I know of!The 1 st time they broke in my apartment took a file cabinet full of my personal paperwork 5 business checking accounts! They forged over 500,000 in checks back in the early 90’s then I had a paper id they made a drivers license with!He was caught red handed by a police officer that was a friend of mine! Got 3 years was out in 18 months when he started up again! This time it was easier to hunt him down! We caught him with 3 forged drivers license 1 was mine! A bunch of other stuff and a meth lab! He got 15 years did 8!Someone else took my identity opening phone accounts credit cards it was a real mess I ended up filling a 7 bankruptcy they started to take my money from my bank account! They got over $750,000 that time For a time I only had prepaid Visa cards no real bank accounts that made payroll very hard! Had to open a business bank account without my name on any paperwork! Now you need to remember back then stealing someone identity was not heard of? It became a full time job just to keep track of the mess!Again in 2007 I was forced to file bankruptcy! Which was all because of the legal actions to collect money for someone who stolen my identity again! Which was crazy because that year I made the most money upto then in my life! I also included items I missed from my 1997 bankruptcy! However I should have not gone this route! In 2007 ! In 2008 lost 1/2 my business 2009 was down to 10% if 2007, by 2010 I was homeless! 2011 started working for someone else! Had to move to work in NYC. Where the high amount of money was not very high in the New York area! 2 years later the company lost its contract. My income drop in half! Here I m sitting !All because of identity theft!

How can you change the following sentence into active voice: "The thief has been caught."?

“The thief has been caught” doesn’t specify an agent. In other words, it doesn’t say who did the catching. If the identity of the agent, the “thief-catcher” in this instance, is omitted, that identity may be obvious (the police!), unknown (a vigilante or angry relative, perhaps?), or irrelevant (we’re talking about the thief, not the people who caught him). That leaves us with no reason to make the sentence active. But if you must make your clause active for some reason, the active clause requires some word that stands for the agent (or experiencer, etc.). If you don’t need to specify an agent, use an indefinite pronoun as the subject of your active clause.“Someone has caught the thief.”Hope this helped.

How do you catch a thief in your home when it’s a family member? There is usually a pattern to the thiefs stealing.Unless the relative is a kleptomaniac, there is A clear underlying reason they are stealing. It is usually to feed a habit. To protect yourself:1, it’s alaways wise to keep purses and wallets in a locked secure drawer.2. Put all your expensive jewelry in a safe. Safes are not that expensive and secure.3. Medications should be secured as well.4. Sure, you can install a ‘nanny camera’ however, that might not catch a family member, simply because they are on to it.Last but not least:When you catch this person with ‘sticky fingers’ and you will. Please do them a favor and get them professional help.Addicts can be helped regardless of their age.If the thief is a young person?Just know it heartbreaking to visit a loved one in jail. Is there any way to catch a thief who steals money from our hostel?

At one point you have to confront her. If your group ( victims) can mark the stuff or money and one day confront her together demanding a search you will get the evidence. Or consider using a spy cam. This cam is easily available in various shapes. Hide it conveniently and use it to catch her. If this becomes a real serious issue consider filing a GD in local police station.

IRS..... Refund check stolen and cashed?

My husband and I just found out that our refund check for $1800.00 was stole from our mail box(we think) and cashed. After a 6 week investigation it resulted in finding out it was cashed 2 weeks ago. The check was issued to us on May 5th,06. It was issued to both my husband and I so how the heck did someone pull this off? The IRS says it does happen but I know that in Arkansas that both parties have to be there with ID to cash the check and with that high of amount it should be impossible! Has anyone had this happen? How long did it take to get a new check? This sucks!

What should you do if you catch a thief stealing your bike?

A lot depends on where you are and who you are and who is the thief. Let's face it, if you are in a rough area and the thief is a huge tough looking character and you are not so huge crying out for help or calling for the police may be your best bet. While this may seem like a weak response it might also keep you alive or safe. Trying to stop a thief by means of physical force means you are putting you well being at stake. On a similar note, if you use a weapon to stop the thief, such as shooting them, you may put you liberty at stake. You are not generally allowed to use deadly force unless your life or the life of another is at stake. So, in general terms I would say that common sense should prevail. Usually a bike their will usually drop the bike and run if you scream at them or run toward them. If they don't them getting a good description and calling the police may be the wiser choice. A big question is which is worth more to you .... the bike or you life?
