Can I change my university after second semester?
As far as I know, you are not going to be able to change colleges in the middle of a semester. While you are taking classes in this current semester, you can go through the application process to attend another college the next semester or semester after that. The application process will probably be different than what you experienced before. Entering freshman applications can be more competitive/harder than transfer student applications. Be sure to check how many of your current classes/credits will transfer. Also check to see what the maximum number of classes/credits will be allowed to transfer.

University change is possible after one semester but for that you will have to start applying for the next sem before you go to USA.For example: if you are going in Fall 2016 to XYZ university, then before going or just as you reach there, finish the application process for spring 2017. If you get an admit then you can request the school in which you got a spring admit to allow transfering your credits from XYZ university.Mind you, transferring credits can be a difficult process as it may be possible that whatever subjects you took in XYZ university won't be accepted at some other university. Is it possible to change first semester grade in second semester...?
I moved from Oregon to Ca. I just finished my first semester and i checked my english final grade and it was D- (2 project and test grade in California). But my teacher said since I moved almost at the end of semester( 2 weeks left until the end of first semester) my first semester grade will be my transferred grade which is B. So is it possible to ask teacher and change my grade to my transferred grade Even though the first semester is over?

Hi,Thanks for A2A, No it’s not possible.You are allowed to change colleges within the same university, that to is limited to few universities like GGSIPU, etc.However, if you wish to change the university, then you can only do that by leaving the current one.Changing university in the first year would not have that much impact if you decide to change the stream as well. But if you choose to do that at a later stage, then you might face the difficulty.Hope this helps.

In many cases students transfer due to personal issues (adolescence, inter personal issues, problems in assimilation) and hence we treat this as a social obligation.For this to happenvisit the univ you wish to admit your ward in person with all the details.They will admit only if there is a valid reason, vacancy and also some academic performance. In many cases, students with backlogs get admitted. In some cases, students without backlogs get rejected as there is not enough slots or the reasons are spurious.if the university permits, go to the parent univ and get a No Objection certificate with the mark list and TC. In many cases, the univs may insist on some more money to be paid.Once you get the consent, you have to visit the univ where you wish to admit your ward again.This university may prescribe for the student to study more courses if the subjects are not equivalent.Best wishes

Its a difficult process and sometimes all colleges(or universities) do not entertain it. You need to provide a reasonable and genuine reason why you need to make a switch. If the concerned section officer finds it genuine, then they may permit you. You must make all payment to your existing college. No dues of whatever nature must be there when you leave your existing college. Once you get a no due certificate, your existing college may give you the TC. You may also safe keep your S1 exam hallticket(if you already registered for S1 exams with the uty. and you attended it). Otherwise you need to cancel it from the university level and register for next year’s academic program freshly. If you are lucky enough, you may be permitted to join in directly to S2/S3 in a new college after verifying all your certificates and TC and conduct certificates from your last college.It is better to consult with your degree section of your uty to get a clear idea.

It is possible to transfer into a different university after your first year of grad school. Generally it may not be possible to transfer after one semester, because that would the Spring semester. Schools tend to admit new and transfer-in students in the regular intake, i.e. Fall. However, each university has a different policy on transfer of credits and you have to be very attentive to detail when you leave the first school to enroll at the second. Some universities only allow you to transfer one-third of the credits required to complete the degree. Let's say you completed 24 credits in the first year, and then transfer out to a different school. The new school requires you to complete 48 credits to earn the degree. What the 'one-third' policy means is, you can only transfer 16 credits (1/3 of 48) from Univ1 to Univ2, and the remaining 8 credits you have from Univ1 will not be considered towards your degree. This is not the case at all schools. Some have even more stringent policies - like, they only let you transfer 3 courses. On the other hand, some may let you bring in all your completed credits. All of the above is generally subject to a grade of 'B' or higher. Make sure you do your homework on university policies before you transfer.

Oh yes! Infact, a big yes! Many(when I say many I mean around 25 to 30)people in my college have done that.You can change your college and pursue some other stream from that college, but you'll have to start from the beginning, that is right from first year again.But if you wish to continue your stream, which is BSc. Here you'll have to consult the new college, as if it is much better than your previous college, I don't think they'll consider your first year. But in case it is similar to previous college or affiliated to same code of syllabus(which depends on university) then they'll take your first year into consideration.Thank you:)

I can't tell you about college yet. but for MY highschool, our semester ends after winter/christmas break then at the end of the year. Semesters are 2 quarters. We do not change classes every semester. I believe you can in college though.

Yes, you are free to change your college whenever you wish to do so. But here by changing college I mean that you wish to drop DTU and then do your bachelor's from somewhere else, because there is no such provision of exchange program.But before doing so think twice because it can be tough to secure a seat in other college (assumed that you must have vison of joining something better than DTU). Anyways as long as you have will that you can score better in JEE (Mains and Advanced) you should do so. But dont drop out completely from college, just maintain a decent profile (score and attendance) and then do however you want to prepare for the next years entrance exams.All the best for your future
