Is It Possible To Install More Ram Onto An Asus K501

Are Asus laptops good for gaming?

It depends on the laptop’s model and the cooling performance it sports. Some ASUS laptops (even ROG) are not that good in my book because many people have reported them to overheat during gaming sessions (One example is the somewhat thin GL502VM with the GTX 1060).If you’re looking at specific gaming brands for laptops, you’ve got to first make sure the laptop has some great cooling. Once you do, just select the ones with the most possible positive reviews and pick one. In the end, the brand doesn’t really matter if the model is well made.My personal recommendations for gaming laptops with great cooling:MSI GE63VR 7RE (Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB): It’s the laptop I currently own. If I had the choice, I’d buy it again. ;) This has everything; Excellent speakers, 120Hz screen, excellent cooling, pretty lightweight at 2.4Kgs. The only drawback is its slightly higher than its competitors price, but that’s mainly because it sports a better hardware.Acer Predator Helios 300: The cheapest laptop there exists with the GTX 1060 with a surprisingly good cooling performance.Dell Inspiron 15 7577: This comes with the GTX 1060 MAX-Q, which is around 30–35% slower than the full GTX 1060. It could be a pretty costly trade-off but the cooling in this laptop is good. Build quality is also a plus.Lenovo Legion Y720: One of the very few 17″ laptops I’d easily recommend, mainly for its good cooling and speakers.Gigabyte Aero 14: Excellent battery life and a very good cooling performance in a very slim package. Only get this if you value battery life since it’s a little bit more expensive. Don’t get the Razer Blade (that’s another subject I must detail but I won’t do it).ASUS G752VS: Very expensive, very heavy, but this is pretty much the only ROG laptop I can easily recommend. The rest tend to overheat.
