Is It Possible To Migrate Form P.t.u To P.e.c By Doing 1st Year From P.t.u . B.tech Mechanical

Is it possible for a B.Tech student at CCET, Chandigarh in 2nd semester to migrate to UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh or PEC, Chandigarh?

Mudit is absolutely right. You can't take admission in these colleges through migration although internal sliding is there. There is also a lateral entry entrance exam in which good diploma holders of good streams like electrical, mechanical, etc. can appear for this exam and based on the marks , they can enter directly into second year.In your case, there is no provision of migration yet. :(

Is Thapar university still good? If yes, then why are its closing ranks higher? If no, then why did it lose its shine?

I remember the time in 2007 when my brother was applying for thapar university immensely respectable college at nthat time....thapar university is loosing its reputation day by day.....this is my first year in thapar university and the things that i have found to my dissappointment are:- THE FIRST AND FORMEST ONE "THE PENDUS": The uneducated crowd of punjab who have no sense of talk and lifestyle.Only things that they have learntare how to do trashtalk and insult those who are not from punjab .It is certainly destroying the campus culture,no diversity only majority dominance....fuck it man even teachers speak in punjabi during classes. Those who dont know punjabi very sorry for them....before i finish this point i want you all to know that i am from punjab(chandigarh) so i am not being racist i am putting forward just truth.- FEES HIKING : yes it is a private university but there has to be a limit .....1 lakh 40 thousand is a massive amount for a semester .... - DECLINING PLACEMENTS: Even for cse the companies recruiting students are not good .....UNTIL 2016/17 surely placements would be only by BUS COMPANIES like infosys, tcs etc..- ATTENDANCE: Cmmon man just follow BITS model of 0% attendance.....yes it would take away some seriousness from students....but that would encourage them to do more projects and activities on the technical and cultural side which would only contribute to the development...-

What will happen if I fail in one subject in the first year of engineering?

I didn't want to pursue engineering, so the first semester I wasn't studying at ALL.And by that I mean NEVER. I have a special talent that allows me to do that.So when my finals were to start, I saw the future where I'd have failed in 3 of my 5 subjects.I studied hard for the finals and it was annoying to complete the whole syllabus in a night, literally. At the end I failed in one and one of my batchmates too. He went to the teacher and literally got on his knees in order to get a re-exam.I went to the teacher but being an egoist, didn't do any such sort of thing. He gave me an F, meaning I had to repeat the course and to 6 people, including my friend an E, meaning they had a re-exam.All 6 failed and had to repeat the course eventually. I scored the highest marks in the repeat batch and got an A which was degraded to a B as it's the rule. Also, as I had been a bright student in school, I knew my parents wouldn't go down well with the fact I failed. I didn't tell them for the next semester and they got to know about it only after the first year. That too without me telling them about it. But surprisingly, they were very calm and understanding about it.And thus, I'll advice you to tell your parents about it. They'll curse you, but that's what parents are for man. You'll miss thia one day, trust me.And also, there's no fun in engineering without flunking at least once.Have a great time at your college. Best of luck :)

If I have a backlog in my first semester but clear it subsequently in the 2nd sem, will the backlog be on my final report card? Could it cause difficulty while applying for a job or while going for higher studies?

Thanks for asking! Well, the power of persuasion works everywhere, no reason to be afraid. So this is my suggestion, once you graduate, you will receive something called as a consolidated marksheet. Try to use it as much as possible, it has no reflection what-so-ever of the number of attempts. So you would have no difficulty while applying for jobs or higher education. Also, apply for a duplicate copy. In the duplicate marksheet, you get the consolidated scores, but the downside is that it also shows the year in which you passed the subject. Utilize persuasion here!

Which is better CU or CGC landran?

Hey there, thanks for a2a!I wish you would have done some research before asking this question on quora, anyways, let me state some facts which would help you decide between the given choicesJoint placement program- the placements of both the colleges happen together, so I guess it wouldn't be a deciding factor.Establishment- Chandigarh university was setup in 2012, while Chandigarh group of colleges was setup in 2001. Bonus points for cgc! Exposure- If you're thinking that you would get a better exposure and culture at CU because it's a university, then, hello? CGC also offers other programs than engineering ! Doesn't the name clarifies it all? CHANDIGARH GROUP OF COLLEGES!  Duh!Advertising- have you ever come across an ad welcoming you to join cgc? But you must have noticed the television commercials and newspaper advertisement of Chandigarh university. I have. Cgc wins here too.Scholarship- Chandigarh university beats cgc here, one can avail 50% tuition fees discount here just by scoring 9.6 or above cgpa in X class.  Bingo right? Wrong, after the deduction of 50% fees, the amount you will have to pay would be equal to what you'll pay at cgc. So I guess minus points for cu for using such gimmicks. All in all, cgc would be a better choice among the two. :)
