At what age do most men with male pattern baldness start balding?

By my experience, I have seen bald man at every age. No matter if its early 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s etc … man can start balding, sadly. The question of when men will start losing his hair is left solely up to genetics. 14, 15 to 16 years of age is quite early to start balding, but it is not entirely impossible to start suffering from baldness in teen ages - which indeed begins with the thinning of the hair or receding hairline. The noticeability of hair loss for male pattern baldness, increases by age so that by age 20, around 20% of people have at least light hair loss and by age 50, then in this case, around 50% of people have at least some noticeable hair loss. Most of the alopecia sufferers start noticing their hair fall in the mid to late 20s.What are the causes for Male Pattern Baldness?Genetics, or having a family history of baldnessStressDiseases like anemia or a thyroid problemRadiation or chemotherapy treatmentsScalp infectionsProblems with your diet, like getting too much Vitamin A or too little ironCancers, medications, thyroid conditions, and anabolic steroidsThe binding of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) to hair folliclesPoor blood circulation around the hair follicleDeactivation of hair matrix cellsHow men lose their hair?We know that for men male pattern baldness is the most common form of hair loss. Thinning begins at the temple or from the crown of the head. Overtime, hair at the temple continues to fall back, leaving you a central patch of hair at the front of the hairline and also a growing bald spot at the crown. The baldness will be equalized, because the baldness in the front will sooner or later catch up with the baldness in the back, thus by leaving you a larger bald spot. What can be done about it?There are countless ways to manage hair loss, and it can definitely be difficult to judge which one fits best. This guide 7 Natural Treatments for Male Pattern Baldness [2018 Edition] will highlight how to treat this unpleasable feeling called male pattern baldness. And in the end … who’s at risk?As I mentioned above, genetics plays a key role. Male pattern baldness may occur in your teenage years, but more commonly it occurs in adult men, with the likelihood increasing with age. People who are at risk are those who have close relatives with male pattern baldness. This can be true when their relatives are on the maternal side of the family.

My dads family all has thick hair but on my mothers side, my grandfather is bald and so is my uncle. It’s definitely maturing for sure but definitely on the top it is thinner then it was last summer for example. Anyways thank you.

Any guys here who started going bald in their teens?

I'm 16, a high school sophomore, and it looks like my hairline is receding. I shaved my head because I wanted to see what I would look like bald, and now I want to keep it shaved because I don't want people to know I'm losing my hair. Does this make sense? I would rather be a teenager with a shaved head than be 17 and have a horseshoe.
I know it is because I have a high level of testosterone, because I also got really hairy this past year; my chest looks like Steve Carell's, and now my back is getting hairy. My uncle started balding at about the same age, and was totally bald on top by age 20. Since I look a lot like him, I am sure that I will probably be bald in a few years as well.
So, did any of you other guys start balding when you were teen? Were you really hairy as well?

Why am I going bald at 16?

It sucks and is depressing yes. I started losing hair at the temples at 16, I was a school athlete and it was devastating, by 20 I had a definite receeding hairline. At 22 with what looked awful at that age I started using rogaine, wow, I grew back some! Not great but passable, 18 years later I have more hair than most 40 year olds and decided to start on generic finasteride. Just wish I'd started it sooner as this stuff works with no side effects for me.I had zero confidence in my late teens/early 20s and for what? I didn't have sex until I was 24, despite always being in great shape and being a decent looking guy (hindsight eh)I guess what I'm trying to say is, there is hope, get on the fin/minoxidil asap. You are here and it could be worse

Am I going bald at 16?

First many of them said you have rceeding hairline .”Receding hairline is a type of progressive hair loss mainly experienced by men and some women where your hairline will begin to thin”. And by looking at one’s forehead no one can tell if the hairline is receeding or not in the initial stages ( so your friend is completely wrong ) .All of us have different hair thickness , forehead size and hair types . This is genetic .The scientific studies till today has not been able to establish any correlation between natural hair thickness / forehead size and baldness . So from this photo definitely NOYour hair looks strong and I can’t observe any hair thinning . Thinning is a process where your hair thickness gets reduced in each cycles till it gets converted to fine vellus hair. That is actually what happens in balding .Only when there are larger proportions of vellus hair ,one can say his hairline is receding and not by looking at hair density or forehead. So just stay away from those thoughts and you are completely safe now .“My dad and male cousins also have hair loss problems”. So in the future there are chances for you to experience hair loss . You are the perfect candidate who can save your hair through scalp exercises. If you start doing it 10 minutes twice a day right now onwards, I can guarantee you that you won’t become bald in your whole lifetime (no matter what your genetic history is ) . You are very young and hence can change all your genetic vulnerabilities of your hair . Other suggestions like hair oil and diet are important but that alone can’t save you from getting bald in future ( if you are genetically predisposed ).I have seen many friends destroying others confidence by these kinds of stupid ( without any basis ) logic . You are safe now and to become safe in future , I recommend scalp exercises.
