Is It Possible To Stop Pursuing My Undergraduate Degree Pursue Another And Then Return To My First

Is pursuing a second undergraduate degree worth it?

The question - pursuing the second undergraduate degree comes in mind when you made wrong decision or studying the subjects you are not interested in. After high school, every student has two options to choose from, for studying undergraduate degrees. The options are STEM & Non-STEM, based on the interest students decide to study either STEM degrees or Non-STEM degrees. The major STEM degrees subjects/fields are: Life Sciences, Accounting, Civil engineering, Psychology, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Programming.Non-STEM degrees Majors: Arts, Business Management, Law, Media communication, Journalism, Nursing etc.As it is young age, students face the challenge in choosing the right degree for their career. So, after the degree or during the degree, they realise what their interested subjects and career goals are. Then they look for second undergraduate degree to study their interest subjects through which they want to start the career. As per my experience, if you do not have any plans to go for higher educations like masters, PhD, then considering the second degree is not good idea. But it is worth studying if you have plan to study the PhD and other self-professional qualifications.Considering the second bachelor’s degree is very rare. One can also start a career by pursuing the professional qualification in which they are interested and get jobs. When Second Bachelor’s degree is better option:Your first degree was awarded from any schools in engineering or pharmacy, but you are not interested with it and want to get business management or law or any arts degree, then pursuing the second undergraduate degree makes sense. In other case, you earned the first degree few years ago and now you want to change the career which really needs more educational qualifications, then pursuing bachelor’s degree once again makes sense.Other alternatives to second undergraduate degrees:It is one of the best options to go with alternative to second bachelor’s degrees. Based on your career goals you can go for short term professional qualifications or co-operative diploma courses.Additional certifications/accreditation – For example, you earned your degree in STEM subjects and realised you’re not satisfied with the subjects but interested in non-STEM subjects like business management, administration, arts etc. Then, the additional qualifications in accounting, like, ACCA, CIMA would be your best option to advance your career.

Should I pursue a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Masters degree in Accounting?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. I'm 2 courses into my Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Should I continue with the Bachelor's degree or should I shift gears and go straight for the Master's of Accounting? My concern is struggling through the Master's program without enough basic knowledge of Accounting.
Thanks for the help.

Should i leave school to pursue my modeling career?

finish school so u have something to fall back n if ur modelling doesnt go as planned or u get sick of it...keep ur options open

I made a mistake and pursued a degree in Psychology, now?

There's really no reason to start the entire Bachelor's over, even if you had enough money to do it. You'd have to start by taking general education courses again, which is a waste to repeat. Just start looking for good MBA programs that accept non-business majors, and I suspect most of them will, don't go by the website alone.

BUT, why are you looking for an MBA in IT, and then a PhD in "IT". An MBA is a business degree, a PhD is a research degree, and lots of people in IT don't even have degrees, or at least the degree is less important than their being certified for particular systems. People also don't really do research in "Information Technology", they're more likely to do research in some more particular aspect. Make sure you undersatnd what IT really is before you start paying tuition for a Masters in it.

Also, you said you have some time left as an undergrad, it'd probably be a good idea to try to take some 100 level computer science courses to see how you can handle it. Heck it really wouldn't be the worst thing to delay graduate for a semester and try to take some more classes like that, that'd probably be better than starting an MBA program and then deciding that it's not for you.

I am a first year engineering student. Can I leave college and join DU next year to pursue a B.Sc course? Am I allowed to do that?

Yes, you can do that.To give you a personal example, I left my B.E in Electronics & Communications Engineering after one year, from one of the prominent universities in that point of time and pursued my dream course in BSc. (Environmental Sciences) from another university. It always pays to pursue your dreams rather than live someone else’s.In my case, I realized that it was definitely not worth my happiness if I try to live up to my parents’ dreams. It had been a difficult choice at that point of time and full of challenges but I refused to live my life full of regrets. Today, that was a choice well made and I still continue to my live on my own terms and conditions.

Would any of my credits from my first degree carry over to my second degree?

What will transfer and not is up to the college/university or school/department within.  Some will and some will not allow a transfer.  Credit transfer, i.e. education credentialing in higher education is a matter of educational politics which has no necessary basis in reason.  For instance, I taught 20 different Computer Science courses during my 9 years of teaching full-time at a public college.  I was evaluated by the students and college administration each of the 9 years as being an excellent instructor of computer science.  Nevertheless I was compelled to take an introductory computer science course (which I had taught more than 50 times) in order to get my bachelor's degree.  I got a 'B' in the course even though I knew more about the subject that the instructor.  The unfortunate truth of the education system is that credentialing (e.g. credit transfer) is predominantly based on arbitrary political considerations that have little to do with the reality of what your competencies truly are.  If a college wants to you take their 'xyz' course that you've already taken elsewhere, there is nothing you can do about it.  They may give you some sham excuse or allow you take an arbitrary test, but in the end it comes down to "Theirs not to reason why", Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Should i drop out of college to pursue music?

Life is short dowhat makes you happy.

If you were given 50k to spend on getting a(nother) degree, what would it be?

PhD. / Bryophytology. (moss) I'd want to study how to keep certain species of high altitude moss alive at sea level. There's no recent science anywhere about what I want to know about altitude effects on moss. I've been looking hard, too. I just want to know more physiology and how on a celluar level the atmospheric pressure difference harms transplants and how I might stop the harm. All the alpine species that I'm interested in are endangered plants.

Can I change my college after first year of engineering ?

Yeah you absolutely can change your branch or college after first year. I’ll explain both below:BRANCHIn many engineering colleges the syllabus of all the branches in first year is approximately same. They do it so that student can have a overview of all branches and if they find that the branch they took is not their cup of tea, students can change it after the first year. There are some factors on which you will be shifted. First of them is availability of seats. If there is a seat available in the branch that you seek then there is a chance that you will be admitted to that branch. Second factor is your percentage, some colleges are having minimum percentage requirements if you want to change your stream if you are fulfilling it then you can easily change your stream.COLLEGEStudent can also change their college after first year but they can only go to a college which is under the same university as their present college. Then you only have to take migration certificate any you can move. If you want to go to a college which is under another university then there are many problems which you will be facing firstly you have to take NOC and migration certificate from university that you are studying in. After that when you go to new college they will cross check the subjects that you studied in your previous college if there is any subject(of first year in your new college) that you haven’t studied in you previous college then they will show your backlog in that subject and you have to clear those subjects. Moreover some colleges also will ask you to pay money for the first year if you want to take admission in second year.
