Is It Possible To Watch Live Satalite Image

Is it possible to view real time sattelite images?

A couple of years ago someone told me that their neighbor showed them on their smart phone real time sattellite images. They said that the person zoomed in on their town and then on to their home and then the followed a car that drove by and watched the car drive all over town. Is this possible? If so, who provides this service?

Is it possible to watch real live satellite map of the world using an android phone or a windows pc?

I don't think so. Most satellite imagery is conducted without notice, and gradually. You cannot view a live feed unless you have direct access to a satellite or a government feed.Even services like Google Maps don't use live satellite images, instead they push stored data to your phone.

How can I get live satellite images?

There many different sources of live (or close to) satellite imagery. Most of them come from geostationary satellites for weather monitoring purposes as Taras Demchuk mentioned. There is also this feed from NASA: live feed from the International Space Station. Now, if you were looking for live or near-instant images of a specific place of your choosing on Earth, there is a decent chance this does not exist. It was recently announced a satellite company managed to get data from space into Amazon S3 in less than a minute during a test, but most often, it takes up to an hour to upload the data from space, not to mention the time it takes for the satellite to travel from wherever the imagery was taken to the nearest ground station to ‘downlink’ their data, which can add several hours to that.As mentioned by Julien Dmnt and Dan Lopez , some of the commercial satellite data vendors can provide you with fairly recent satellite images. Images may be a few days old since they often further process it to make sure the data is what you would expect to receive. AWS Earth also offers a large collection of free archive satellite data (thanks to government programs supporting these satellites), as does EOS LandViewer (although I do believe they have limitations to how much you can download for free). If you are looking for images going forward, you could also try SkyWatch. Their platform, EarthCache, aggregates satellite data from multiple high resolution sources. The platform is designed for you to set up future searches so you can be notified as soon as new data that fits your criteria has been uploaded by one of their satellite data partners and you can automatically download it through the EarthCache API.Here is a gratuitous picture I downloaded through EarthCache of Mel Gibson’s island. It was taken by Sentinel 2, and shared freely as part of the Copernicus program.

Is it possible to watch the Syrian Civil War live from a satellite?

The closest thing to a live stream on the Syrian Civil War is Map of Syrian Civil war/ Global conflict in Syria - Syria news - syria.liveuamap.com.It’s a map where updates are regularly posted, indicating what’s happening on the ground over there. The updates are obviously susceptible to bias and the public comments over there are absolutely horrendous. But ignoring that, the map gives a good idea of what’s happening on the ground level in this war and the struggle that they’re going through.

Is their a web site where you can get free live satellite images?

Hmmm... Interesting question.

Yes - Google Earth will get you Free Satellite Images, but not live. Other companies provide near-live satellite images, but not free. (Near-Live means you need to order the image, and then, in a few hours [sometimes days,] you can get them.)

If you want a better view, you can check out your local town / county government. They may do fly-overs for tax assessment purposes, and may take pictures of the property at the same time. Not "live," but not bad.

If remote monitoring is your goal, a simple webcam or two perched atop some high structure should fit the bill.

BTW: Cost for live satellite - Expensive! Custom, real time satellite imagery requires you to contact the satellite owner and make arangements. Also, if you're in the USA, you may need to fill out an FBI clearance. Furthermore, there's no such thing as a geo-synchronos imagery satellite - If there were, the CIA would have use of it. And even still, the government sometimes loses "their man," so don't expect these services to be cheap (ie: expect to spend a few million if you want live video, a few thousand if you just want a pic.)

Have fun!

How do you watch a live satellite video of Earth?

Live high definition video of Earth from the International Space Station is available at…High Definition Earth Viewing System (eol.jsc.nasa_DOT_gov/HDEV/)

How can you get a real time satellite image of you house?

Hello Valentine,Go to: LANCE: NASA Near Real-Time Data and Imagery | EarthdataandWorldview: Explore Your Dynamic PlanetYou can get data from 600 or more sources from 3–5hrs after they passed over your house. Yes, the resolution of these data are not necessarily very high, but these are as “live” as they currently come.

Can I pay to get live satellite imaging?

As of now, there’s no such thing yet as live satellite imagery. Space agencies and commercial imaging companies are trying to reduce interval between image acquisition and delivery, but the most frequently updated imagery in free public use is still the one from weather satellites. You may choose to buy commercial images from DigitalGlobe, Airbus, Urthecast which provide on-demand satellite tasking. You can literally send a satellite to a specific location at a certain time to collect images. Or you can use free imagery browsers with regularly updated imagery from active satellites, like LandViewer.MODIS images are acquired every 2 days for each point on Earth.Sentinel-2 provides fresh images of your area once every 5 days, not as frequently but the spatial resolution is up to 10m per pixel (for certain bands).Sentinel-1 radar data gets updated every 6-12 days depending on location.Landsat 8 and 7 satellites have 16 days revisit time and they have 8 days shift between them. So, you can have Landsat image every 8 days if you use images from both satellites; provided you will do additional image processing. Here’s a sample of a satellite image taken on 5th of February over Michigan, United States. As you can see from the tool bar on the right there are multiple images available for you to use and analyze with a minor delay between them.United States. Feb 05, 2019 - Land Viewer | EOS

Real Time Satellite Images, Where I can Find Them?

you cannot.

its way TOO much information to process to achieve real time global coverage, esp at high resolution.
you'd need something like 10,000 satellites taking pictures and a quantum computer to stitch the pics together to have REAL TIME images

NASA World Wind
http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/
is the closest you can get...... much like google earth, but
they've added updated cloud coverage of the world (but not updated surface)
notice I never said real time though. its updated and updated often. like every hour or so.

this site is cool.
http://www.flashearth.com/
its a flash version of these earth programs,
BUT the cool thing is you can switch from different companies that have organized these pics. each different set was taken at different times.
I can cycle through them and watch the downtown area go through construction phases over time.

Is there a way to watch a live map of my house?

No, not unless you are a government agency with direct access to satellites. Google Earth is not live. In fact, some of the images are several years old. (Example: if you look at Princeville, Kauai, HI, the Westin Princeville Resort is shown as a vacant field, although I have stayed there for the last 3 years.
