Is Junior year in high school too late to move?
Answering this question is not possible Grace because "online school" has so little translation from what you are doing to what goes on in the schools of 50 different states in the USA. The learning that takes place in your junior year of HS in New York is vastly different from that which takes place in the deep south. Sorry if that offends anyone but the standards for acceptable are just not comparable at all. So where you are going to attend the rest of HS will determine how well you are prepared for that experience. Adding an online "home school" experience gives the evaluation too many variables to provide you with much useful feedback on the decision. Is it too late to change schools in year 11?
i feel intimidated by some people at school and i was thinking maybe i should move schools so it forces me to be more confident and out there in the school community, I really like school and stuff but i need a real confidence boaster and i was wondering whether its too late to change schools because im in year 11....btw i'm at school in NSW australia so i need to know whether its permitted this late?
Should I move schools? I'm in year 11?
I'm studying for my GCSE's in year 11 and i really want to move school. The only problem is that schools may not accept me since it's so close to exams and even if they allowed then the exam boards are bound to be different to the ones I have been taught. The main reason why i want to move is because people seem to think im invisable and that i don't talk as I'm a mute :( i used to have social anxiety in year 7 until year 10 so now people dismiss me. I only have a few friends but at break and lunches i have nobody i am alone every lunch. If i moved schools i could have a new start where people don't assume that i don't speak. However it's so late in the year is there a point as it could severely effect my grades which are A's and B's at this moment in time. As well as this my schools educators are terrible half of them arent even qualified to teach the subjects they teach and they treat me like a nobody too which is why my grades are lowering i failed most of my mock exams and have no motivation to revise. Every day i go to school I start crying :( I'm planning on moving after year 11 for sixth form but it seems so far away and if i went to a new school maybe people would welcome me as I'm new and i might make friends I don't know:( My parents are willing to support me if I want to move if that makes any difference Thankyou very much if anyone reads this I know it's long and my grammar and punctuation is bad but I need some unbiased guidance
Is grade 11 too late to switch schools?
So next year i will be going into grade 11 and I really, really want to transfer to the local public high school. I dont think my parents will ever let me but that is besides the point- If i were to switch now, would there be any point to it? Would I be able to make friends or would everyone's social groups already be set in stone by that time? I've been going to a private Christian school since grade one, and I've wanted out for the last couple of years. :s

I would think you could. I don't think it would be any different than if someone was to just move there and by law since people have to attend school, they wouldn't make them wait. I would call the administration office at the high school and ask about it. Good luck!

If you just moved there, you should be able to enroll in a high school immediately. Have your parents go to the school's office, or call them, tell them you just moved there, and ask what documents they need to get you in. Normally, you'll need your school transcripts - and being homeschooled, your parents would create those - and your immunization records.

Find out the deadline by calling them or checking their website. Start working on your application right away. If the deadline has passed, figure out how to get in next year or choose another school (or do both).

Transfer schools within your University or transfer to another location. If its the first part, male sure your GPA is high enough to transfer. If it is the second part then determine how many credits you will need to graduate. At my university it may be the last 40 credits when you come in as a transfer student.
